Is the 100% number wrong and I just need to wait? you just need to wait. the game is unpacking 9.9gigs into 25gigs. you'll still have to wait quite a bit for the setup as well once the unpack ends.

Having armies in the field isn't just about a bunch of blokes kicking around, it's ALL about supplies and supply lines and epic feats of coordination. Yeah, it's not that it's bad. It's simply different from other TW games and thus the planning and playstyle is different. I'm usually pretty meticulous and riskadverse in my play, but being forced to leave some settlements undefended barring garrisons makes me paranoid.

I wanted to play the prologue to get into it because the interface has changed quite a lot from previous games. I've played the total war series since medieval I in 2002 or something and i struggle a bit now. I ended up in a dead end when i happily spent all my money on armor upgrades so i couldnt fullfill the next objective because i didnt have enough money left. So i couldnt continue the prologue. Initially i didnt even find the place to look for my money. In the prologue a lot of stuff is also locked so you dont really know what youre allowed to click and what not. All those symbols in this greek art style in black and white makes it really hard to find everything and recognize which unit is which. difficult historical names make it even harder. I needed to spend some moments checking out my units on the battlefield because its not fun if you can only differentiate them from the sword, spear or bow symbol. So since symbols for units and buildings dont help and the mouse overs are not really helpful i have to look a lot in the encyclopedia. But the encyclopedia is a clusterfuck. The search engine doesnt work and the information is not properly linked everywhere. How are you supposed to find stuff? and apparently some of the lower tier military buildings are shared by all factions so good luck finding stats to your units because the encyclopedia shows 100 units from all factions for that building.. Also units arent very diverse. It seems like there are 4 unit rosters. Barbaric, Roman, Hellenic and Eastern. a lot of units are just <faction name> <unit type> like lybian spearman, gallic spearmen etc pp.. To see if they are unique you have to actually look close at them on the battlefield. So thats quite a hassle. But its fun to play. I started a roman campaign on legendary. Seems very easy though. but i just conquered northern italy + corsica yet, maybe it gets more challenging later. Diplomacy is definetely easier than shogun II. You start out pretty much neutral and its easier to keep away from that death spiral where everyone just hates you because your ally starts war with everyone and then dies off and youre alone like in shogun :D and there are apparently a lot of factions without any friends so they are easy to take out one by one.

Once you land troops in a spot the boat is stuck there and you cant land any other troops in that location. They add to your forces when sieging a settlement. Numbers really do count in those. They've helped me in a couple sieges.

I can't figure out how to get my troops off the "escort" navy. They are just stuck there. UI leaves some things to be desired.

I have some issues though: First off, it takes ages for the computer to process the other faction turns. (So many of them..) Second, the game doesn't allow me in the preset graphic setting to go further than medium. I tried the benchmark thingy with high and had 10 fps. My computer is a laptop MSI GT 70 with a i7 3610QM I have a NVDIA GeForce GTX 675M / 2GB GDDR5 4GB RAM DDRIII Any help / adivce? Its the first game i can't put on max settings :/ funny thing is, I got the same laptop and for me the game runs okay on extreme and very good on high. I am just disappointed about fucked up coop campaign
