Man, there's a lot to learn in this game. I jumped right into a very hard campaign with Rome and fucked things up pretty badly managing my empire and warring against the final Etruscan outpost on Karalis. I started over on the same difficulty, and am doing much better this time around. However, I'm having trouble getting my economy on sound footing. No one really wants to sign trade agreements with me, and intra-empire trade doesn't seem to be generating that much income compared to Rome I. You definitely can't blitz through territory after territory in this game. The happiness and economic penalties are too big. Your expansion has to be much more measured and deliberate. Having taken secured Italia and Karalis, I'm probably going to spend the next 10-20 turns consolidating my position and building up my economy before doing anything else. Also, how the fuck do naval battles work? I can't figure out how to make ships board other ships.

There's a lot of info. to take in, so it takes some time, but most, if not all, of what you need to know is there. Will require some getting used to.

Anyway, game is good so far. Had one crash so far though. Graphically it really needs a blood mod imo :O

Battle had equal forces and I only lost 5% of my troops... I swear the AI had his spearmen running in circles while my javs took them out.

I've tried changing the hotkeys, unfortunately it didn't work.

To take one element; compare for example the tech trees between FOTS and Rome 2. It looks hideous in Rome 2.

Why couldn't they just continue with the FOTS style, it was really good... To take one element; compare for example the tech trees between FOTS and Rome 2. It looks hideous in Rome 2. Agreed with the tech tree and UI buttons. Not sure what they were thinking at all. I miss family tree as well.

I for one am waiting for it to receive several patches and then go on sale! It's kind of ironic then than Shogun 2 was pretty solid when it was released. Then again, Shogun 2 was probably a smaller, much more concentrated game. I always wonder why devs like CA don't take a few extra months, or even an extra year just to polish everything to a ridiculous level like Valve and Blizzard do.

I found the art quite beautiful. I really like it, it's a lot like caesar 3, it fits very well.
