Floe got DQed? That's...not surprising at all, considering he was up late getting bodied by IWBTGG.

Brackets are usually done on paper which makes it a hassle to recreate online (though australian majors OHN and SS2k12 both did), and its usually the finals bracket which is fan-made on challonge.
A main issue that I have is with the records keeping in the fgc,
Most of the challonge brackets for the weeklies are not archived anywhere with a master list. I couldn't even find out the overall point results for WNFAE Season 2 or how the evo points were distributed after trying to google around let alone trying to find results from previous seasons.
The Coverage Hubs are not well archived either and while you can hit them in Google now, it'd be preferable if it was organised.
Bottom line is, Liquipedia has made following SC2 so easy that it'd be nice if everyone else caught up
Also something important to note on the Divekick project is that it is a Kickstarter and not just a pure donation drive. They're raising their money through pre-orders, etc. for the game and not just asking for handouts. To me it seems perfectly legitimate and Keits has been very transparent with his plans and goals for the project which is why I personally have backed it and why I included a small button in the OP.
EDIT: On the Evo front, Floe just said hes already in losers for AE from a DQ

Challonge brackets have been used since 2009, as well as Tonamento, which is no longer used but worked similarly. Every single Wednesday Night Fights, Big Two, and 8 on the Break weekly tournament uses Challonge brackets. They're not always used at majors, in large part because there are so many games and many of them take door registrations and have paper brackets created on the spot, day-of, plus some tournament organizers are notoriously hard-headed about changing their ways. Not disagreeing with the overall sentiment, because I definitely think online brackets and such make for a much better viewing experience, but Challonge brackets at CEO was nowhere remotely close to a breakthrough.
Thanks for clarifying, and sorry for misjudging what you were saying. $60k is pretty tiny for legitimately publishing an independent game, and if you don't believe me, look up some of the other Kickstarter projects for game development. Independent games frequently go into the hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost, even simple ones. Keep in mind also that they only decided to go forward with it because it has gotten such overwhelmingly positive feedback by people who have actually played the game. Before that, it was going to be a one-time thing for UFGT. Compare that to most projects in which people basically have to be told that the game will be good, and it's a much safer, smarter investment for most.
As for the subscription thing, if it was marked I wouldn't hae a problem with it, but it not being announced is not a good look. I kind of suspect it's actually not supposed to be like that, though. I could be wrong, but it seems kind of like a glitch with the subscription model.

This has been a major problem with the fighting game community for... well forever. Just recently it was a breakthrough that CEO used Challonge for their brackets. I have some major issues with the FGC and this lack of coverage. Additionally, I hate that their commentators don't reiterate what "stage of the tournament" they are at. You can't really watch an MLG, NASL, etc without getting that information, "We're about to jump into the semi-finals... blah blah". It's amazing how many times I've come into a stream later on, only to have no fucking clue where they are at in the tournament cause the stream doesn't say so and neither do the commentators.
Of course, they haven't been covering their scene the same way we have since 2000.

Pachi why is it that you can throw this together in such an awesome and concise manner when it took me several minutes searching through the usual fighting game sites to come up with the same information?
The srk evo "forum" takes me to this mess http://www.shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?forums/evo-championship-series.97/
The eventhubs "preview" is less than helpful http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/jul/03/evo-2012-tournament-preview-july-6-8/
The neogaf thread is decent http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=481190 I guess.
seriously... raffles and trying to stay underground aren't the only problems that community faces.
anyway, hype for evo!

I meant the suscription for stream archives was underhanded imo as you could not get information beforehand and only if you clicked on the twitch archives.
As far as divekick is concerned, the method of a kickstarter project was fine. I just feel like the game, which was originally intended as a joke game is taken more serious than it should be. 60k $ for such a project is a hefty sum. Although I don't mind if I am proven wrong if it gets funded.

I don't see what's underhanded or questionable about the kickstarter project, unless you have a problem with ALL game development kickstarter projects, because it's exponentially better than most.

Yeah, I bough it in the end. They only said subscriber for hd vods, not for the stream archive. I hope it goes really into the scholarship or supports spooky.
Still, it seems like some underhand tactic. Its the same like Keits' divekick kickstarter project (60k $ lol). I don't feel comfortable how the fgc sometimes handles these things.

Except he misread the time on the evo app, -,-
Well, hope he makes it out of his pool, if xiaohai makes it in winners.
