Their is no site that presents information on tournaments and players in any way remotely close to what TL does for starcraft. The point is that they need to have better coverage of their own scene. I hate SRK's front page format and compiling all the information Pachi did in the OP as I said took me several minutes of scrolling through SRK front pages to find. Just an observation. i think its just a "scene" thing. fgc is more an offline than an online community. i think the majority of people who attend or run these events arent as aware that people outside their circles like to watch their events. the first streams/coverage were for players who cant attend these events. and its very difficult to run an onlinebracket or koordinate stats/ vods archive for sometimes 500 guys per game and a total for 6 games per tournament but since this "road to evo" season there was always a coveragehub on srk/eventhubs, starting on the same day. evo coveragehub: http://shoryuken.com/2012/07/05/evo-2012-the-largest-fighting-game-tournament-of-the-year-starts-in-less-than-24-hours/ and its very cool that Tl got this thing going, but what realy disgusted me ist that guys like djweaht sell this thread like "tl cover this much better like your own site", without even putting 5 min research into it. he thought that the evo brackets were created by pachi....

Yeah, I bough it in the end. They only said subscriber for hd vods, not for the stream archive. I hope it goes really into the scholarship or supports spooky. Still, it seems like some underhand tactic. Its the same like Keits' divekick kickstarter project (60k $ lol). I don't feel comfortable how the fgc sometimes handles these things.

I don't see what's underhanded or questionable about the kickstarter project, unless you have a problem with ALL game development kickstarter projects, because it's exponentially better than most.

I meant the suscription for stream archives was underhanded imo as you could not get information beforehand and only if you clicked on the twitch archives. As far as divekick is concerned, the method of a kickstarter project was fine. I just feel like the game, which was originally intended as a joke game is taken more serious than it should be. 60k $ for such a project is a hefty sum. Although I don't mind if I am proven wrong if it gets funded.

The srk evo "forum" takes me to this mess http://www.shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?forums/evo-championship-series.97/ The eventhubs "preview" is less than helpful http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/jul/03/evo-2012-tournament-preview-july-6-8/ The neogaf thread is decent http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=481190 I guess. seriously... raffles and trying to stay underground aren't the only problems that community faces. anyway, hype for evo! This has been a major problem with the fighting game community for... well forever. Just recently it was a breakthrough that CEO used Challonge for their brackets. I have some major issues with the FGC and this lack of coverage. Additionally, I hate that their commentators don't reiterate what "stage of the tournament" they are at. You can't really watch an MLG, NASL, etc without getting that information, "We're about to jump into the semi-finals... blah blah". It's amazing how many times I've come into a stream later on, only to have no fucking clue where they are at in the tournament cause the stream doesn't say so and neither do the commentators. Of course, they haven't been covering their scene the same way we have since 2000.

TL will cover this better than that site. I know this cause I've been watching these things for 3 years now and no one has even come close to the level of coverage that someone like TL (or any other eSports site) offers. And don't be a fucking idiot, when I clicked on the bracket links I thought they were created by Pachi and I quickly said, "No these are the actual pools from EVO". I hate when dipshits like you try to put words into my mouth.

Of course, they haven't been covering their scene the same way we have since 2000. Nobody really cares. Your expectations would be justified if fighting games were an esport. But they aren't. The commentary is supposed to be entertaining first and shed some light on the technology the players are using second. They never fail to build hype during the final stages of a tournament. These events are about coming together and playing against other people who share the love for these games first and competing second. If you watch these streams and care only about the tournament and whos winning which bracket you're entirely missing the point. Now this isn't directed directly at you, but at people applying the standard of SC to fighting games.

Its literaly the most annoying thing about evo that I hate every year. Don't sweat it DJ wheat you introduced me to evo and I'm really thankful for that. The Fgc is really like the reddit of esports.
