Noob story of epic failure for you all. Bearing in mind that me and the 2 friends have only played DayZ for a few days now, so our level of failure is probably hilarious to most.

After spending way too long being seemingly stuck to the coast we all decided to venture deep in-land, checking deer posts on the way to ultimately arrive at the huge Airfield in the North West. We stocked up on medical supplies, food, drink but didn't bring as much ammo as we should.. we are all noobs and weren't sure what to expect.

Getting there was pretty easy, compasses and maps are the greatest thing ever in this game. We sneak into a high value barracks on the lower left corner of the airfield, a long corridor building and zombies kinda start pouring in on us. We got about 90 kills from Zombies just pouring into that 1 corridor, almost exhausting our ammo lol. Then for some retarded reason, I picked up a shotgun that we found, and the 3 shells for it. We'd never used a shotgun before and it wasn't efficient for us to swap our weapons for it, barely no ammo. And heres the retarded bit, I fire it just to see what its like, scaring the shit out of my friends in the process because it didn't sound like any of our normal guns. But then what I hadn't thought through was, we'd been quiet for a while, looting zombies and gathering ourselves, so the giant wave of freshly spawned zombies all decided to check out the dumbfuck shooting a shotgun randomly at walls. About 50 more kills ensue.

Its about then that I say fuck this shit and we just run for it. We manage to get onto the airfield itself and escape the hordes, although we are starved for ammo at this point, my Bizon SD is dry, I'm having to use a M1911. One of the other 2 got the artifact bug and couldnt see any further than us right infront of him, so we were using him as a mule. He had an empty AKM but we had 5 mags that we'd collected from the military zombies. So we decide to trade that to the other friend so he can use that, while our mule carries the basically empty Lee Enfield he was using. Friend drops AKM + Mags. Other friend starts picking up AKM, but his game crashes. The empty Lee Enfield he had remains on the ground, our mule picks it up, the AKM dissappears. He logs back in and the AKM wasn't in his inventory, he was holding an empty Lee Enfield. So we LOST our only big gun and all its ammo. We managed to unintentionally duplicate something that was totally useless to us and worse than what we lost in the process.

Fuck.

We proceed to sneak around the hangars and loot stuff. Manage to get some nice stuff, some kind of M16 and a few mags. A replacement AKM and a couple of mags. Then we get spotted and suddenly Hordes everywhere. We make a dash for the Fire Station roof. I get up safely, other friend gets knocked out as he's climbing a ladder, the Zeds can't hit him but he's stuck there. The 3rd friend, our mule, can't even find the ladder because the artifact bug totally fucked his vision.

Fuck.

So I'm on the roof with an empty Bizon PP19-SD, no food, water, half blood and an M1911 with a few magazines. Oh and also a frag grenade. I knew I had to save my guys, so I climb down the same (and only) ladder my friend is unconcious on, thinking I can honey badger around the airfield to lure the zombies away so my 2 friends can safely get on the fire station roof. Not knowing however.. that me going down the ladder pushed my friend off, so now he's unconcious on the floor and being eaten by more zombies than I had ammo for. I can't even find my other friend, all I can hear is his character screaming and him raging over skype as he gets eaten.

FUCK.

I try fighting the zombies off but all I did was exhaust my ammo and they still both died. I couldn't administer medical supplies as there were so many zombies surrounding their bodies and chasing me. So after debate with my friends on what to do, I just killed myself.

We are now back to square 1. This game is horrible.. but.. amazing. Like Stalker but more evil.
