Well, you might understand what I mean after you played TESO for a year or so. If you manage to play the game for more than 2 years, I'll be impressed.

DPK, I know what you are saying. the novelty will wear off for sure. that is why it is good if the game is skill base and has a high ceiling or the devs keep rolling out new features for pvp (maps, modes, etc.). Let us cross our fingers.

I'll hope for you but I doubt it will happen before the novelty wears off. As for the skill based/high ceiling part, I really doubt it will be any higher than your average tab-targeting MMO. Bear in mind that the only place for PvP atm is Cyrodiil and numbers will most likely beat players skill if the game isn't balance well enough, especially in terms of crowd control and AoE.
We'll see how it goes. The game looks fun but not worthy of a 15$ sub at all. I might try it once it inevitably goes F2P.

Starcraft was built with MP as it's main focus. ESO PvP is a tack-on. Still doesn't sound bad?

Welp. I tried it all weekend but I just could not get into it. Game was very dull. I think I felt this way since the game was based off Skyrim...and all the time I was playing I kept wishing it was at least just as epic as Skyrim. Doesn't hold a candle to what Skyrim offered in terms of PvE. Of course the PvP is better and seeing other people run around is great, but I feel like I was playing a really dumbed down version of Skyrim with just multiplayer added. Sorry folks.

None of that will happen. The skills were made with PvE (not PvP) as their focus. There is only 1 map. There is only 1 mode. Saying that it may get better (in what? an expansion or post-release patch?) is like hoping it was good in the first place.

I never said it may get better. I never played it when I wrote that so I wrote that as my hope. I don't judge a game that I haven't even played yet. With that said, you can see from the post above yours what I feel about the PvE and general content of the game.
The PvP they can fix by easily adding more modes and maps, bro. But that isn't the problem with this game. The problem is that it just isn't up to the quality of PvE that ES is known for. The world is bleak, the questing is linear and "just follow the compass".

Oh my, you must be new to all games. Not to be mean but that is a super ignorant comment. And why add the "bro" at the end?

Starcraft was not built with MP as it's main focus. The SC vanilla was emphatically a single-player game with multiplayer capability.
And I do assume we'll see expanded PvP zones. I've also really enjoyed the PvP I've done so far in ESO.

I am assuming you are bro and not a gal. but I could be wrong, sorry sis. Yes I am new to all games that is why I actually read and know that ESO specifically addressed the pvp for this game. Regarding your first point, you wrote that you had a problem with the quote "1 mode and 1 map" for pvp. If you are such a veteran of games, then maybe you should do a bit of research and understand that ESO already announced multiple additional modes for pvp. But then again what do I know, I'm new to games.

Care to share your sources? As I haven't seen any announcements regarding the creation of additional PvP modes for ESO.

My point was that it is naive to think a system that wasn't designed for pvp could be so easily be fixed.
Horrid attempt at dismissing the "bro" you included. It is common practice for the masses to include "Bro" at the end of malformed sentences when they wish to anger the person addressed. Yours was most likely no different.

hahaha sorry that is the first time I am hearing about bro being used to anger someone. Sorry you are so sensitive, I did not know. Back to my initial point, you should watch the interview of the lead PvP designer for ESO. he states that there will be other pvp features later on and he shows how many design features were influenced by PvP. To say that ESO is a system that was not designed for pvp is pretty stupid. You do realize what a pvp design team and lead pvp designer is right? you do realize that ESO hired such a team right? I am guessing you dont...no wonder you are confused.

the fact that they have a team working on PVP doesnt mean that that is their main focus, but what do i know i won't even play this fucking game until it goes f2p

Stop right there. Are you really going to buy in the "PvP features will be added later on"???????????
This is becoming such normal practice with video game company's its utter bullshit. Oh hey were going to "add" this later. Just give us the money now and pre-order then well "probably put it in".
I mean it worked really well for Diablo 3 didnt it?

I've been playing for about 5 hours and have never actually played an elder scrolls game before. I don't see what's wrong with this game. I've played plenty of MMO's in the past but this one is so radically different and refreshing for me that I can actually see myself sticking with it.
I've played for 5 hours and am now level 7. I don't mind that it will take me a long while either, looking forward to what it will bring me.

I am really enjoying the game. On that note does anybody know any market guilds or anything that I could join?
Feel free to add me Master Blade (yes that's my name :D) Someone stole blade from me
