even if we get an exact port of the console experience, its fuckin one of the best console exclusives of its current generation PLUS we get some extra content including areas and bosses. what the hell is wrong with some people ...

What is important is to ask yourself if you are willing to accept this to get one of the arguably best RPGs of the recent years on your PC and give incentive for further PC developement of new FromSoft titles. The funniest thing about this is that since the game has controller support even if it is a "bad port" you should get the same functionality?

I'd say at this point a controller of some sort is almost mandatory for PC gamers just in case you get a bad port of a console game on PC. Obviously I'd like all games released for PC to have fluid feeling keyboard controls, however the investment in a controller is well worth having to deal with some of the terrible control experiences out there..(Ubisoft I'm looking at you..fuckheads) Only thing that annoys me more then a bad a console port is a bad console port with no controller support >.< I've got this game for xbox, but may end up picking it up for PC as well as my consoles are pretty much dust bunnies at this point and I pretty much got nowhere in the game =/

I wouldn't want to play Starcraft with a 360 pad, nor would I want to play Demon's Souls with a mouse/keyboard. It was designed for a pad, that's how it should be experienced imo. But yeah, every pc gamer should have at least a 360 controller just for these types of games.

However the graphics limitations certainly make it a bad port. Cross your fingers for mods/hot patches.

the intro sets a framework for the events to happen, but the actual game doesn´t tell you a lot about the story via cutscenes, dialogues, etc. you have to figure and combine things like a detective. every item has a description, which can be a useful hint to the events taking place in lordran or deliver background knowledge to NPCs and enemies. the game doesn´t tell you "how things are" straight forward - a lot of times, there´s room for interpretation, which makes you immerse deeper and deeper into a mystical world that already starts to fade during your arrival. i also hope media actually gets that and is not talking about "dark souls has a very basic storyline, but that´s okay, because it isn´t about the story, but the difficulty and sense of accomplishment"....that´s bullshit. it´s the mixture of both. more games should involve the players own fantasy instead of comfortably serving him all facts on a golden platter!

I don't thin there's anyway it would be quite as good with a keyboard and mouse but it would be disappointing if they bring a game to the PC because people begged them then it's barely playable on it. From Software already announced the game will have keyboard/mouse support, but a gamepad is strongly recommended!
