![]() I've been struggling a bit with the descision, because usally I don't wan't to support bad console ports. On the other hand, everything I've read about the game (and the few videos I saw - dont want to spoil it for me) leads to the conclusion that I'll love it. And the people which make this game should be rewarded. So it has basicly come to this: Show them that there is a market on the pc platform for these games. But they should better consider this for their next game! Additional content is nice, but I think I'd prefer a good port any day.

You put a sign on the ground and if anyone sees it they can summon you. Mostly done to kill the fat/skinny guy for people going first time through or the four kings on NG+

Mostly done to kill the fat/skinny guy for people going first time through or the four kings on NG+ The co-op in this game is not the standard co-op where you find your buddies and romp around together. It is built in a way to force players to help other unknown players. It reinforces the feeling of how alone you are in the world and has a bunch of design reasons behind it. Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls before it) don't have this weird multiplayer for no reason. It was design choice. It doesn't make it bad, simply different.

Ah okay, hopefully they will update it constantly though and work on improving it. I guess we will have to see what happens, I am still really excited for it though! Btw will it really make the game run bad if it hasn't been optimized?

That ladder you unlock in New Londo Ruins always causes me gruesome lag (like, 0.5 FPS, takes 2 minutes to get up the ladder lag). I find it odd that Anor Londo doesn't lag. It seems so elaborate. Fuck, now I want to play Dark Souls >_< I never had lag there on the Xbox 360 version of it, the lag wasn't that bad in Blight town but at the second bonfire it was pretty laggy until you went around the wall. I was watching all the videos released for the PC version of Dark Souls and it didn't seem like there was any port related issues. I don't really think the PC port is going to cause a lot of problems. Regardless I am really excited for Dark Souls to come to the PC, I know so many people who are going to get it which is great for me!

There are only certain areas of the game that lag really badly and it's not that big of an issue. Most of it really is because the PS3 isn't meant to have such a massive seamless world, which Dark Souls has. If you have a good computer, the raw power should help abit simply because I believe the lag issues stem from the fact that the PS3 lacked the firepower to maintain framrates in high particle areas (Blighttown and New Londo were a few areas). That being said, don't expect the most optimized game in the world; the controls will be shabby at best on a mouse+keyboard, and the framerate will likely dip in a few areas. That being said, that shouldn't deter you from enjoying literally one of the best games in recent memory.

This is all assuming the port is ok. After playing terrible ports like GTA IV I'm not going to assume anything.
