Fake foobaw question:
Give F Jackson for Maclin. Standard scoring +6td passing.
My wrs are a dumpster fire. Brown, M Williams... just dropped Bey and probably Meachem pending waivers tomorrow.
RBs are very solid: Lynch, Ridley, Matthews, F Jackson, Leshoure, CJ2k. Start 3 wr; 2 rb, with 1 w/r/t flex.
My gut was to wait a week.
I am also trying to swing a package deal for AJ green with some of those rbs, or a 1:1 for Reggie Wayne for any of those guys that arent Lynch/Ridley... and probably matthews bc his value is so low now and his ceiling is too high to sell low.
e: looks like Green isn't happening. So who of Jackson, Leshore and CJ2k would you move for Reggie Wayne? I think Wayne's ceiling is like 1000yds, maybe 6 td. I dont know about any of those three dudes anymore. Leshore probably has the best crack. I am thining Fjax, even though he has been awesome the past two years. He stands to get the most competition for carries out of those guys.

If only Jerry Jones spent a very tiny fraction of that amount to buy the cowboys.com website. It's now a gay dating site (insert joke here). On the bright side, at least Jerry Jones doesn't own the Rams. I really couldn't resist.

Well, looks like I will have my first ever FF league turn sour. It appears the commissioner and a buddy (my assumption since it was the first person to join the league) put together a rigged trade that I doubt the commish himself is going to veto since its gonna stack his team. Unless ESPN somehow reviews trades themselves and steps in.
The trade in question is Adrian Foster and Marshawn Lynch for Jonathan Stewart and Brandon Gibson.
Luckily its just a random league but its still the first time a league has gone bad in the ~15 years I've been playing FF.
|
if it's not for money forget the league and don't play with those people again. if it's people you know in person or used to call friends consider never talking to them again.
which 3 to start: harvin vs TEN marshall @ JAC julio jones @ WSH antonio brown vs PHI steve johnson @ SF floyd @ NO amendola vs ARI hartline @ CIN
|
Marshall and Julio are auto starts off that list for me. I would also shy away from Amendola and Stevie who are facing tough defenses. Which leaves Harvin, Brown, Floyd, and Hartline for the final spot. Off the top of my head I cant say who I would start from those 4. I would lean towards Harvin / Brown but thats a pure gut feeling with nothing substantive to back it up.
|
Would go with Jones/Marshall/Harvin. Harvin has a good chance at returning one for a score, plus a weak Titans team. He always seems to be involved in any part of the offense. Nearing must start status, and Ponder is showing he isn't that bad.
Though Arizona D is receiving too much credit in the fantasy scheme. They contained a lackluster Seattle passing attack lead by Russell Wilson. A New England team that relies heavily on Tight Ends, who lost half of their game plan that game. A turnover happy Vick without Maclin. Then a rookie QB and unknown WR team up and put 250+ on them.
Too much depth there for you to put Amendola as a consideration though. Would rank 6th on that list. Antonio Brown would be my 4th pick. Mendenhall returns this week, so I think they put great effort at getting him going.

I joined a random this year, just to have another draft to practice with before going into my friends' league. Sure enough, there's BS rules, BS trades, and obvious collusion, all within a few weeks. Just drop half of your players for unsigned free-agents, rename your team something like "BS League", make the worst roster line-up you can, and never look back. If people aren't going to respect the game, then you shouldn't even participate.

I know a few people that its happened to in the past. Im more surprised i got in roughly 15 years of FF before it happened to me. Guess it had to happen sooner or later. And yeah, I was planning on putting together a team of worthless players and going AFK for the season.

If people aren't going to respect the game, then you shouldn't even participate. ESPN has mock drafts hourly for a couple of weeks before the season starts, up to a few weeks into the season. So you get the opportunity to experience drafts without having to manage them all season. Instead of giving up on the league to make a statement why not give it an honest effort and try to win the thing. Don't give them what they want! Spend the 10 minutes a week and see what you can do. Because every so often you will face the obvious weaker team, get a win. Stacked teams don't always generate wins, it gives you the higher percent chance of it working, but its fantasy football, its an ugly beast.

Since we seem to be talking about fantasy, what are everyone's thoughts on CJ Spiller in the long-term? He obviously showed a lot of potential towards the end of last year and the beginning of this year, but it seems like Buffalo insists on sticking with Jackson no matter how well he does. I know he still has some upside even as a backup, but I'm having a hard time justifying keeping a backup RB on my team when I have 5 RB's and 3 WR's in my lineup.
Is it worth dropping him in favor of a semi-decent WR? Players like Andre Roberts, Kevin Ogletree, James Jones, and Nate Burleson are all still available in my league
|
Buffalo really wants to run the wheels off of Jackson before handing off the torch. Jackson will likely be the starter this week, but I don't imagine you want a piece of either of them against the 49ers. There are very few backups worth a spot on the bench, Spiller is one of them since he had to answer the call once already and proved he is plenty capable. So no, he isn't worth dropping to pick up a flex wr.

What do you guys think...
Reggie Wayne vs Green Bay or Brian Hartline @ Cincinnati
|
I like Wayne in that situation. Proven he is capable of playing with Luck, maintaining good consistency. That game should become a shoot out, or just Indi trying to catchup. Hartline is still a nice pickup, but Bush seems healthier this week and its not hard to run against Cinci.
|
I'm starting Hartline in every league I have him in. He gets so many targets a game, too much upside to not give a shot.
