Injuries, injuries, injuries.

Once we got everyone healthy, together, the train couldn't be stopped.

You have Raheem Moore to thank for not being stopped and he isn't even on your team !

Oh, one more thing to point out about the Niners-Falcons game. Sure, the Falcon's execution was sloppy in the second half, but the real difference that game was coaching. The Niners team adjusted and held the Falcons pointless in the second half. The Falcons team never made any adjustments. Harbaugh beat Smith. That's about all there is to it. Harbaugh may be the best coach in the league right now. It helps that his team is stupidly talented, but he has been very good at getting the most out of what he has and planning for matchups.

And if their team had to cheat a little bit to do it, they wouldn't care either.

EDIT: And I say this is a lowly Lions fan that would trade the Lions and Tigers for the Pats.

I don't think you could get any more wrong than you are.

I, and most other people, hate the Pats because of all the shit they're allowed to get away with for the simple fact that their name alone makes the NFL money.

Name another team that has been allowed to pull a snow blower out to clear an area to kick a field goal. Name another team that cried enough to have a rule created to overturn an obvious fumble to allow you to go on to have a chance to kick aforementioned field goal off of a freshly plowed area. Name another team that wins 3 superbowls by only 3 points each and then dumps every player from their team besides their "allstar" QB. Name another team whos entire offensive gameplan is quickslants, 7 yard buttons and screen passes. Name another team that talks as much shit as the Pats when the cameras are off but act like gods grace with it on them, then show their colors when they lose. Name another team whos QB is allowed to badmouth a ref and spike the ball at his feet because hes upset with a call.

And if youre willing to dump two historic franchises to bandwagon the Pats because they play in a weak conference and get a free ride to the playoffs every year just to feel good about yourself, then you're exactly like every other pats fan ive ever met. And as soon as Brady retires in the next 3-5 years i wont waste any time trying to find you or all the other Pats "fans" that mysteriously disappear as fast as they appeared.

Jeez, dude, we just lost, and you're still more upset about the Pats than most people from NE are.

Everybody hates teams that win, I guess (yes, we lost yesterday, but I think you can safely argue that the Pats are the most successful franchise since 2000).

edit: also 90% of what you said is either complete bullshit (they're the only team that talks shit? really?), makes no sense at all (they cried to have a rule made in the middle of the game? what?), or is just pure bitchiness (yes, they use short passes, what is wrong with that)

Hes saying they are only team that talks so much but when camera is on they act like perfect angels which is true I guess. Also if it werent Brady I would probably say he has a fine coming his way for the kick he did at Ed Reed (not the slide the kick during the slide).

I think any QB could probably get away with that, since the NFL basically doesn't think offensive players can do anything wrong. And yeah, they do act very professionally on camera, and are probably asses off the record just like everyone else, I'm not disputing that. I don't really get why they should be hated or shit on for being well-trained and acting professionally.

Is anybody else baffled by the disparity in personal foul / unnecessary roughness calls in the Ravens v. Pats game?

Calls on the Ravens:
1) The call on Ray Lewis hitting Aaron Hernandez -- Hernandez caught the ball, turned, and then lowered his head into the hit. I'm not sure how he can still be considered defenseless at that point.
2) Ellerbe called for hitting a guy in the helmet after the play -- this one I mostly agree with, although Ellerbe was getting shoved after the play and the retaliation didn't seem like a bad hit at all.
3) Pollard on Welker -- legitimate call

Non-calls on Patriots:
1) Mayo on Pitta -- he leads with his shoulder, but makes helmet to helmet contact causing Pitta's head to whip backwards as Mayo plants him into the ground. This gets called on Pollard/Lewis/Reed every time, every week. Seriously, sooo many games in the regular season where a Ravens defender leads with his shoulder but b/c it looks so bad in real time the refs call it a personal foul.
2) Ed Reed's fair catch -- a Patriots player made helmet-to-helmet contact with him while he did a fair catch on a punt. Wtf?
3) Before the two minute warning, the Patriots ran a play that "took only 3 seconds". This was blatant fail/cheating by the guy running the clock. Again, wtf?

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter, the Ravens still outplayed the Patriots big time and are going to the Super Bowl, which is awesome! But man was I pissed while watching the game.

that whole thing was ridiculous.

tuck rule is fucking retarded, but that was the right call on a rule that had existed for almost 3 years already so i dont even know what he's talking about there. the snow blower thing references something that happened in the 0s. i dont know why he's dirting on how much they won SBs by, or sarcastically refering to Brady with quotations. Or dirting on their extremely effective offense that has brought them late playoff runs almost every year now.

im very far from being a pats fan, but that was mind numbingly bad, like some kind of awful yahoo commenter post that got lost and took up residence here

The only thing that bothered me that the refs did the entire game was when they didnt throw the flag for Brady's slide which was clearly him trying to take out Ed Reed. If the leg up wasnt apparently you can actually see him try to kick him when Ed Reed tries to jump out of the way. In the end the lack of a flag actually cost the Patriots so justice was done in its own way but he needs to be fined for that play.

I blame Woodhead for not blocking the ref. He should have wiped him out to open up the running lane!

People go after Brady for his spikes up slide, forgetting he was a baseball player in high school/college. Not surprising to see him use a move like that in an NFL game tbh.

I don't think you could get any more wrong than you are.

I, and most other people, hate the Pats because of all the shit they're allowed to get away with for the simple fact that their name alone makes the NFL money.

This made me laugh.

Hmm, name another team whos offense was quickslants, button routes and screens? Any Bill Walsh 49ers team.

Name another team that wins 3 superbowls by 3 points? Start by naming teams with 3 super bowl wins at all, and you'll realize how retarded that point is.

Any team with a top flight QB (Rodgers, Manning, Brees, etc) will see their QBs get away with things others don't. There's a reason nobody would take that shit from a Mark Sanchez.
SOOOOOooooOOOOooooOOOOoo Many BANELINGS!!

People go after Brady for his spikes up slide, forgetting he was a baseball player in high school/college. Not surprising to see him use a move like that in an NFL game tbh.

So it's okay for Tom Brady to kick someone in the groin since he used to play baseball, but when Ndamukong Suh does it, he gets fined $30k?

You know, Suh used to play soccer.
