I think that game is a lot different if RG3 could even jog properly. He looked on point early on, got that one ding and it just went downhill from there. The Hawks are still a pretty good team, but a healthy RG3 probably would have put them down three scores and not looked back. Oh well.
And yeah Sherman is really good, even if he is a big time trash talker it seems. Dude has the physical abilities and the smarts. A lot of CBs are one or the other. Plus he always looks stoned, which is funny.
Niners over Packers - I think Gore and the D just grind the Packers out in this one. Their D can absolutely handle the Packers. The Niner O can definitely score on them. Even if Kaep plays average, I think Gore will gouge that D for like 6ypc, even though they are much improved this year.
Falcons over Hawks - More of a hunch than anything. Seattle won last week, but I think that really only happened because of the RG3 injury. However, I think this can go ether way. The Falcons are kind of retarded in big games, and I think they're not as good as they seem. Plus, any team with a D and run game as good of the Hawks is always gonna have a shot provided they can keep with 10 pts. If Seattle has to start throwing early, I think they lose. Atlanta has way too many offensive weapons for them to keep with.
Texans over Pats - Andre Johnson deserves some goddamned success already. Plus I think the Texans are a very good, well rounded team. They just kind of had a few stinkers recently. Great D, awesome run game, and they can throw well too. Can never count out the Pats, but I as far as talent, the Texans have them beat all around.
Ravens over Broncos - I think Joe Flacco plays his balls off. I think the Broncos would win this if it were a series, but I think the Ravens are absolutely good enough to steal one off of them. Ray Ray is gonna go off on that D, and I think Flacco has enough weapons to keep them close in case Peyton goes off early.
Man you're dumb. Of course Flacco has the weapons. He's had enough weapons for the last three years, he just can't fucking hit them when he needs to, because he's a giant chode.
I can't believe you're picking the underdog in both AFC games, and Atlanta is practically an underdog. They're a 2.5 favorite, and home field advantage gives -3 from the jump, so that tells you what people think of this game. (Note: that's why the 9'ers have -3 vs GB: they're at home.)
That evening, after the Ravens beat them but before you crawl into bed in your Peyton jersey to tearfully jerk yourself off to sleep, kindly take a moment to come to your computer and say 'Why yes, QuanticHawk, you were indeed correct abotu your predictions.
Hahaha, SweetLemons it's time!!
One could make the case that the Broncos, not the Ravens, beat the Broncos. Frankly I found it amazing the game went to 2 OT's with the combination of mistakes coming from Peyton Manning and the Denver secondary, especially when the Ravens comparably made few mistakes, Flacco's fumble being the only one I can really think of.
But that's playoff football, and both Peyton Manning and Champ Bailey should know better by now.
Perhaps you are forgetting that the Ravens gave up two special teams TDs (one punt sailing away from coverage and one absolute failure of a kickoff coverage), which I would say were pretty huge mistakes. Nobody's perfect, at the end of the day the Ravens outplayed the Broncos and won the game.
Before the game started I'm not too sure why so many people thought the Broncos would win in a blowout, the Ravens were missing a ton of starters when they played in the regular season, and even then the game was only a blowout because of the pick 6 at the end of the first half.

They expected a blowout by the Broncos for the same reason people expected a blowout by the Patriots. The Ravens, just like the Texans, limped into these playoffs. They seemed uninspired, with a flaccid offense and a banged up defense. They had the tools on offense, but weren't making the connection, something they obviously did against the Broncos. Ray Lewis' return hit the inspiration and hurt defense birds with one stone as well.
While they obviously could have covered those special teams plays better, I still think Manning's and Bailey's mistakes were far more impactful on the game, and they came from hall of fame players. I don't know what was up with Manning, but Bailey has to be able to ask for help when he is getting beat by a receiver 15 years younger than he is. He's getting kind of old to be playing with these guys.

The thing is though, the Ravens losing 4/5 games coming into the playoffs was largely due to injury (and in the cincy game, not caring). The last game the Ravens really played coming into the postseason was a blowout against the Giants, and they followed it up with a dominant win over the Colts. The re-shuffled O-line looked really strong against Indy, and with the return of so many defensive starters, I still think the "this will be an EZ win for Denver" folks didn't know what they were talking about. I don't know how you can say the Ravens seemed "uninspired" after the Colts game.
As for Bailey's mistakes, the first TD was just him not being as fast as Smith, combined with a great throw by Flacco. The second TD he had perfect position but Smith was able to make a play on the ball and he wasn't, I'd argue it was just a great throw and catch by Flacco + Smith. As for Manning's mistakes, he has a record of not playing great in the cold, and he had been largely contained by a Ravens defense that was missing a ton of starters in the regular season game.
The Ravens largely outplayed the Broncos. I think that if that game is played 10 times, the Ravens win 8 times, which isn't something that I was counting on beforehand.
There are a lot of things about the Niners that should make the Falcons nervous, but this is the biggest thing that sticks out in my mind: Atlanta was not able to get any pressure on Russel Wilson all game. Losing John Abraham is a really, really big deal for that Falcons defense. Atlanta was already rather undersized up front on D. Now, they are going against the best offensive line in the NFL. This is the biggest mismatch of the game. Mike Nolan is a good defensive coordinator, but I'm not sure that he's going to be able to scheme his way around this one.

The game felt the same as many of Manning's previous Colts upsets. The play calling and gameplan was extremely conservative. The last weekend's games pretty much went to the teams that made big plays, not the teams who tried to dink and dunk their way to a victory.
