Will, Crabtree, Pettigrew, Cutler I'm currently sitting in 3rd at 7-3. I've been trying to package McCoy & Ben for one of Brees/Rogers/Matthews, but I am thinking about this a bit. Of those three, I'd have the best shot at getting Matthews, but I am slightly worried about him sitting in the playoffs. edit: This guy also has Tom Brady. Brady is ranked 8th (280pts).
No way. Pick up Palmer or Freeman, who are both having respectable years, maybe you can even play the match-ups a bit if no one else is targeting QBs. RG3 is awesome, no doubt. But he's also liable to get injured or just get his running-game stuffed. I can see trading for Brees -- who is probably the most reliable player in all of fantasy -- but otherwise Shady McCoy seems way too valuable to be trading. McCoy may not be having a top-3 RB year so far, as was predicted, but he's still easily a top-10 reliable RB. Put him in your line-up. You're not using Hicks this week (bye week Giants).
edit -- just saw that your flex is WR/TE only, my bad. Still think you should be able to find use for McCoy.... somehow. Not being able to play 3 RBs certainly makes the trade more understandable. I'd just have a hard time doing it.,
Just my opinion, but I think you lose that trade, and the other guy obviously benefits in a huge, huge way that you might regret if you face him in the playoffs. Try counter-offering him Nicks or Bryant for RG3, maybe?

Yeah it's a really weird spot with only 2 rbs and a W/T flex.
I just have two areas I can upgrade in QB/TE and at least one RB who I can flip. That's the only offer I got on the table right now. Brees owner told me no straight up. He had 4 pretty good rbs. Rogers owner I have not heard from yet. Anyone else, I really think I'd probably jsut stick with waivers. I want Ryan but I really think id get boned come the end of the season
I was thinking of countering the same for Brady. I am not sure.

Not if Kapernick goes. If Smith is out, you can kiss that game goodbye. Imagine that, a guy that throws as well as Tebow throwing against the team leading the league in turnovers, and return TD's. Good luck.

Naw it's cool well activate 4 RB and just run all day. Anyways kap has a better chance vs a stout defense then campbell does just off the offensive line and ability to run the ball.

yeah i am actually kind of excited if kapernack plays. limited stuff but he looks like he can ball. I wanna see a few regular thseason games out of him first tho.
campbell is an average starter i think. taht line is dogshit though and cutler makes up for it a lot

So I'm thinking about betting on Packers vs. Lions (Packers -3.5) and Saints vs. Raiders (Saints - 4.5). What do you guys think?
Also thinking Over 48.5 for Chargers vs. Broncos.
|
Disagree. Kapernick hasn't shown much besides the ability to run the ball.
Even if the Niners hold the Bears offense to no points, they also need to worry about the defense scoring points. I very seriously doubt his ability to move the ball against the Bears defense, and not have them score. Whereas, on the other hand, Campbell will at least not throw the game away for the Bears. The Bears offense needs to not put the defense in bad spots all day, and they'll win, since SF's offense should be inept with Kapernick at the helm.

Football's random as shit, it's the sport I would most definitely never bet on.

The NFL is the only sport I DO bet on . It's random to a degree (what isnt?), but it's also more predictable in certain ways with matchups, trends, history, etc. You're always going to get burned, but if you just carefully pick games that you study enough you'll come out ahead.
This week I don't think I like any games at all so I probably won't bet. MAYBE the Packers vs the lions. Steelers are favorite vs Ravens now too but im sure that line will change drastically when Leftwich is named starter.
Edit: Yeah the Ravens are favorites now. They changed it. Still only a 2.5 point favorite though, that's interesting...

You don't think Saints -4.5 is a good deal? They've been pretty good these past five games, dropping only one to the Broncos, and beating everyone else by a higher margin.
Plus McFaddy is still out.

Never bet on the Saints. I am a huge Saints fan and that team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, at home.
Honestly, it's probably a decent bet since the Saints are on a roll, but man, if there's one team in the league that's Jekyll and Hyde, it's the Saints.

Haha I wonder if everyone feels like that about their team. I never, ever bet on the Chargers.

Giants are more Jekyll and Hyde. Amazing one week atrocious the next in all areas.
The Saints have just had a laughably horrible defense this year. That's why I wouldn't like betting on them.

When I bet, I almost always bet on the Broncos.

You guys sound like McNabb after his game vs the Bengals a few years ago. Except, you know we aren't US citizens so American Football isn't a sport we know very well. Don't be a jerk. Obligatory WHOOOOSH. FYI - he was making fun of McNabb. Not you. More on topic, bunch of concussions and other injuries to some major players. Its gonna be interesting teams react over the course of this week. A couple of the players are already out for this week. Yea I meant no disrespect to you guys, I was making fun of the fact a Pro Quarterback had no idea what the rules of overtime were. Ok, my apologies. Nonetheless I suggest you use a more grammatically clearer form next time, you compared us to McNabb whereas you meant to compare McNabb to us.

Byron Leftwich will start for the Pittsburgh Steelers at quarterback against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night as Ben Roethlisberger sits out due to injuries, the team announced Wednesday.
Roethlisberger, who has been diagnosed with a sprained shoulder, also suffered damage to his ribs Monday night, which a source familiar with the injury described to ESPN as rare and dangerous and of greater concern to the Steelers and team doctors than his shoulder injury.
Doctors are concerned that the quarterback's rib injury could lead to more internal damage if he were to play anytime soon.

Bigger news: Byron Leftwich is still in the NFL???

I'm so glad we got rid of him in ATL

So today is the trade deadline in my keeper fantasy league, and I'm looking to upgrade my team as I'm still decently close to the guy in first place. Ten team league, and we start 3 QB, 3 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE on offense. I'm looking either to get a better QB or ideally a new WR. I was offered Miles Austin for my second round pick, which I'm skeptical over since I doubt I'd keep Austin given the team I've got. (we keep 5 offensive players)
My team looks as follows: QB Peyton Manning QB Alex Smith QB Sam Bradford
RB Adrian Peterson RB Chris Johnson RB Frank Gore
WR Reggie Wayne WR Vincent Jackson WR Cecil Shorts WR Mario Manningham WR Greg Little
TE Jason Witten TE Heath Miller
BN Deangelo Williams BN Felix Jones BN Brent Celek
I'm trying to get my hands on Roddy White. Was also offered Sebastian Janikowski and Torrey Smith for Rob Bironas and my 4th round pick. Deadline is before the game tonight, so any input is appreciated. Thoughts?
