in terms of competitive or even casual arena pvp they're bottom of the barrel until next patch, can't speak for top-level raiding but in LFR I wasn't getting the impression that they're anywhere near as good as they've been in past expansions.

rogues are a decent pick for arena, they're being buffed next patch too which a lot of people think will be a substantial improvement. can't speak for pve at all.

From what I've heard, rogues are doing good in PvE. My raid group has a fury warrior and he is keeping up just fine in 10m HCs.
Overall you can play any class/spec as long as you know how to move and keep up your rotation.

http://www.worldoflogs.com/rankings/players/Throne_of_Thunder/Iron_Qon/25H/Assassination_Rogue/
This fight for example hasn't too much movement for melees and no gimmicks to push your dps. Feel free to compare with other dps specs.

compared to nowadays, hardcore classic and tbc raiding was a piece of cake. you spent more time farming mats than actually raiding. Nowadays the top guilds play like 20 hours per day, stack classes for each boss and rotate players until the content is clear. Now that is hardcore raiding.

Everyone tries to say that, but I dont think its true. Part of doing a raid is being undergeared.

Top guilds do the raids undergeared. Sure we've bis gear from last content but heroic mode unlocks after first week and in that one week of clearing the raid in normal for first time, chances are you might not get any loot(yes I know Method and the very top spoon feed the gear to the mains by clearing it with alts). In the next few weeks people are usually at the end bosses already. Tuning of the bosses has varied so that also plays a role of course, some you could've in blues probably and some which really require all the extra dps you can get(look at the amount of HC Lei Shen kills after people started getting their LGMs).

Not so sure, TOT kind of took it backwards. Took the top guilds about what over 6 weeks to kill 13/13HC? It took Method to get world first on Lei Shen like 4 weeks. So i think that was like the longest ever. I was really into watching Sco (GM of method) stream back then as well, so it was pretty interesting.

For example took Method until 1st week to clear it 12/12 normal which was week 6th-13th. It took them a further 13 days after heoric mode was released to clear 12/13 HC which was 2 raid resets. Then it took them another 2 raid resets to kill Ra Den HC. So all in all it took over a month (4/5 raid resets) for a full clear of a Raid. That is longest in a long time in my knowledge XD

Yeah I spoke a bit generally and then current tier, perhaps a bit confusing. I certainly like it when bosses last longer than one reset. Two weeks of gearing, sure you'll get some gear but I'd probably still argue it's undergeared(of course, some individual might have most items already*cough*leeds*cough*). Ra-den was really let down seeing as Blizz didn't seem to bother to changing the fight so that you can just lolskip everything :p Overall though I've really enjoyed raiding so far in MoP,

Some of the old bosses took a long while before they were killed but most of the time they were bugged/totally unbalanced and were dropped really fast after some changes so they can't be really compared. The most recent one which lasted for a while was Ragnaros but can't remember exactly how long it took now.

Yeah good point, most of the bosses come out terribly imbalanced yet still though the top guilds did kill them, and it wasn't until after the nerfs others start to get the kills. But Panda i don't think any boss was terribly OP? They just actually made good solid raid bosses like you said.
When i was raiding i did too enjoy MOP raids, but i stopped midway through TOT due to getting behind and losing passion for PVE and rediscovering PvP

Still like to keep up to date with Method xD

wasnt Dark Animus hc pretty broken? I remember a lot of guild being stuck on him, till blizz fixed something. Not 100% sure it was animus, but there was deifnitly one boss that was a lot harder than all others
If you think it's too hard there are solutions other than asking for a nerf, getting better is the first that comes to mind.

From an ex 2200-2500 3v3 Mage/Lock/Rogue/Shaman, I'll say this: play freakin' Smite. I've fallen in love with this game in the recent weeks... so much more fun than WoW arena, which has fallen off since BC/WotLK. The entry barriers to wow arena are just far too high... if your class gets changed due to some dragonslayers crying about 3% too much damage on an ability, OOPS, guess you wasted 5 months gearing.

Lady vashj and kael thas sunstrider would like a word.

Given that the heroic + normal plan is clearly in place, it makes sense that even with a full normal clear, one of the first 4 or 5 heroic bosses should be an insurmountable gear check.

The other thingmakes raids easier is that every class has similar skills, so it is kind of nonsensical to do an illidari counsel. You used to have to really think about raid comps.

exactly.

I stopped WoW after Ulduar. That was the last raid that was fun and didn't had this fucking retarded "MoreHP/MoreDmg"-Mode. The motivation to progress Raid X was in TBC just to see the content. How many people killed Vashj/Kael'Thas Pre-Nerf? Most of the players didn't even saw them. Why waste time in a Raid when you already killed all the bosses in the Full-Retard-Finder and the EZPZ-Mode?
But who cares, WoW is dead - it will never be fun again.

"How many people killed Vashj/Kael'Thas Pre-Nerf?Most of the players didn't even saw them."This is why tbc pve was so retarded.Unless you are in the%1 population of your server you couldnt even see the new content. How is it better game with only 1 percent of players playing the latest content?
If you are hardcore raider now there are achievements, heroic modes, world or server first attempts. How will denying access to majority of players to latest content make your pve experience better.
People saying vanilla-tbc better are either some hardcore elitists or living in nostalgia imo.

Its not like that was so bad. As a casual you always had a goal. I had a casualfriend who farmed 1000x Karazhan until I got him into my Guild and he became maintank and tanked Illidan on our firstkill for us. LOL :D

People saying vanilla-tbc better are either some hardcore elitists or living in nostalgia imo.

Yes both! PvE Raiding was definitly better in TBC, that was by far the best PvE I ever played. So much fun! Even though Ulduar was crazy good, but the rest of the Expansion was Horseshit!

Having just read through the 5.4 patch changes, what are they trying to do with Feral druids?
Looks like they want to remove any and all skill involved in offhealing and PvP. Or they are doing what they said they wouldn't, which is making dps specs as similar as possible.
*bleep* you up in a gangsta style!
