Sure, what you do at level 3 totally says everything about this game.
I havent played in years but so far I like to play this one, to each his own.

Not spending 40 dollars for an expansion though... never did never will. So... you didn't buy TBC, WotLK and Cata, but somehow managed to get to 85? I never bought one game, yet have all up through Cata on my account. I think it was one year when they gave me vanilla and tbc free on my account and then resurrected to get the last two. So it is possible.

WoW threads are always dead on TL.
Also, lol at competitive gamers quitting after Ulduar.

I'm looking at the internet and I see a lot of people caring about it. Also you have to remember that the people that started playing WoW in the beginning is not necessarily the same people that play WoW today. Naturally people move on and they are replaced by a new demographic. This thread don't say much about anything and the fact that you and your friends don't like it says even less.

Blizzard really outdid themselves this time.
Not that that would be very hard after Cataclysm...

OK, someone must tell me what happened with cata.
My last info on WoW was basically wotlk->cata transition and everyone loved cata and was sooo happy that wotlk was done with. People were raving about how it was finally hard again and all that stuff. I never played cata myself, i only collected all the free stuff from the scroll.

Then heroic dungeons became a joke. Heroic raids remained very very hard in T11 and T12. In T13, it was easier and then got nerfed into oblivion. The endgame content was nearly all recycled because they spend all their time revamping level 1-60 content.
So anyone know how hard dungeons and raids in MoP are compared to the previous expansions? Should we expect Cata levels of QQ about heroics being too hard?

EZ-Moade Dungeons = Heroics now...

The lack of enthusiasm towards MoP has little to do with MoP itself but more to do with Cataclysm and just how poor it was, it was so badly received that they not only stopped gaining new subs but also started losing millions of former customers.
It would be cruel fate that MoP has to carry Cataclyms horrid reputation around its neck like a albatross, it is certainly a better expansion than it

How can "everyone" love Cata when it lost 3 million + subs? It is the only expansion that lost that significant amount of users, and these are Blizzard's own official numbers.
WotLK oddly enough was their biggest hit, at least in terms of subs, it peaked at 12 million.
I think you were talking to some very hardcore raiders, whose idea of a great expansion is more often than not the opposite what your average WoW player wants

when i played, progression raiding was the main point of mmos, maybe thats where my confusion came from, then.

I remember how bugged the boss fights were when it first released, it got me so excited that they could make something so hard lol. The design of the place in general was so beautiful too. The visuals of Algalon alone were enough to make wiping over and over on it enjoyable .
I'd almost want to come back for MoP but raid guilds that properly balance professionalism with friendliness are too hard to come by.

Who have played MoP? Questing is so fucking awesome and the world feel alive and real. This xpac has the best questing system by far. Its art is jaw dropping.

Cataclysm on release was satisfying because it was actually challenging in 5-mans and stuff. The new content was fresh.
However, the end-game really lacked. People got pissed a month or so after release and thats when the subs started dropping.
I'll wait a couple months for MoP to be flamed to hell.

the challenge modes are looking to be pretty challenging. last night's launch party race/demo with the blizzard ux team vs blood legion put it in pretty good perspective.
my CE box just arrived today, i can't wait to get all my work done so i can log in and finally start trying to catch up to all my friends and guildies

I made a pandarian (not a monk since I don't have mop) and finished the starter area. It's ~12 levels and then you choose Alliance or Hoard, as you probably already know. You cannot mail your new toon anything (such as heirlooms) until you align with a faction.

Level 87 and I really enjoy this up to now. The design is stunning as always, both music and landscape are really awesome. The graphical improvements are also quite good and Pandaria looks really nice for such an old engine. There are no new mechanics in quest-design but they are really fun. And the texts is worth reading. No need to rush to level 90. Take your time and enjoy it.

seems like way better addon then cataclysm. And maybe better then WotLK too
Content is really interesting, soundtrack is ASTOUNDING, new Monastery <3, pet system little thing, but pretty fun. Also kinda like the new talent system. And afaik they got pretty good endgame content compared to cata

Started to level a Pandaren Monk got her to level 24. Took a little look at the DVD and it took 33k simulated hairs to just make Chens face in the Cinimatic, thats compaired to the 22k for Layah in D3. The pet battle is fun i am using my Mini thor that i anmed "KT Rolster Flash" as my main pet with a Corehound pup and horned owl as the others.
