And then you have LEM smurfs that will probably destroy you, which also sucks, but at least you can learn something from that.

Discuss. I agree about nerfing mid-air shots from Scout/USP-S and changing smokes. Not sure what I think about the flash change atm.

i consider some of them way more important than others though, the smokes are the most urgent thing to fix by far compared to the rest

hitboxes being broken while jumping and also while on ladders make these weapons appear way more bullshit and frustrating to play against than they would be if these issues were fixed

I do like the idea of diversifying and mixing up the regular gunplay a bit, so I'm a bit reclutant on giving up the whole jumping shot concept. Making it more restricted, consistent, punishable and situational is fine, but I'd still like to have the option to use some less common guns to open up some additional possibilities. In general, the smokes & flashes are probably the biggest priorities and game changers. Also, I might like to see some rethought to the money system. Right now the money bonus reset system makes a lot of awkard 5 losses into 1 win into 1 loss into ecos kind of rollercoaster. I'm not sure what kind of approach would be better, but I'd like to think there are plenty of possibilities to play around at the very least.

First thought was that if the smokes are really too strong, why not add some seconds to the round time.. but ugh, that would probably allow some unwanted, ugly things, too. Dunno #lowlevelscrub

But people don't seem to understand that GO isn't 1.6, doesn't want to be 1.6 and will never be 1.6. 1.6 WAS the best team shooter ever made, no doubt. But GO IS a very, very good team shooter now. And that's what counts. SC1 is by far the best version of StarCraft, that doesn't make SC2 a bad game nor would it force Blizz to turn it into SC1 2.0.

Yeah but GO right now compared to GO two years ago is a lot more 1.6-like than ever before and that is purposeful by valve via the many updates to the game. This fact has a lot to do with the skyrocketing popularity of the game in my opinion. I think if sc2 managed to keep a lot of what made broodwar so good that it would have been adopted by broodwar players much earlier and had a much better popularity arc than it has right now. I think there is a lot to be said for consistency in esport titles. The differences between csgo and 1.6 are a lot more cosmetic and functional than the differences between bw and sc2 which seem to be more gameplay related. For example, valve in the past has tried to change cs just for the sake of change with the introduction of things like riot shields or VIP maps and other weird stuff. This is exactly what the community did not want and it seems that valve has learned that if you simply focus on making your new version of CS the best possible version of exactly that...without trying to redo everything from scratch, that you get the game you have today with the popularity it currently has. With regards to the suggested changes, I do believe smokes are a bit oversized and that smaller smokes would simply create a higher skillcap in terms of nade skills. No more halfass nade throws that magically cover an entire choke without much thought or effort. This would mean that if you dont throw the perfect smoke that the other player has more opportunity to counter the smoke thrower >>> The better player has a better chance of coming out on top whoever that may be. No planting sound is also something that interests me however I think the planting sound radius just needs to be reduced. I have noticed that the planting sound seems to be a lot louder and covers more distance than the sound does for defusing. This should be equalized at the very least. Even though both teams get a chance at both sides in a match, the sides should still be balanced.

I'm hesitating to buy cs:go. I'd like to be able to play on my account but I'd like my younger brother to be able to also play on his own, separate, account. Not necessarily at the same time, rather, I'd like to use that steam family sharing thing so that we have separate cs:go accounts. Is this possible? If not I think I won't buy the game, I mean maybe it might be worth it either way? Or maybe I'll just let my brother play on my steam account, something I'd have rather avoided tbh.

Just skip a fancy shamcy cappuccino and you're good to go. No need to go through all this hassle just to save $7
