Did some tinkering. Feels...a bit better now. Can actually hit stuff and get kills but it still feels a bit messy. Dropping the DPI on my mouse with a corresponding sensitivity tweak helped quite a lot (though it feels REALLY weird on the menus for some reason).
So another question...there's this Operation Vanguard thing splashed goddamn everywhere. What's all that about? I googled and read a bunch of links but it doesn't seem to help explain it or whether its worth bothering. As far as I can tell its...achievements? That you pay for? Or something like that?

Operation Vanguard is a "season pass" for CSGO where you can play "missions" to earn skins or weapon crates. They're usually something along the lines of "get x kills in an arms race" or "get x kills with a FAMAS on x map" or "get x number of round wins or match wins on x map". It's the only scenario you can actually still get the Dragon Lore Awp drop but it's obviously incredibly rare. You can also play the new maps released like "workout".
There are 4 campaigns for Operation Vanguard and they each have their own missions on certain maps. If you buy the pass, you get access to 2 of the 4 campaigns. The other two you have to purchase separately and together it's going to cost around the same price as the operation vanguard pass. With the Operation Vanguard pass you can also receive Vanguard weapon crate drops which are worth around 7-9 cents. You also get the badge that you can show off beside your name in-game.

i've been playing a bit of 5on5 pcw's in 1.6 during last few days and damn i really miss that extent of wallbanging
it makes sitting in all those little sneaky spots much more weaker because you can just check them with a wallbang, which is a good thing because i don't really like it how in GO people who are bad at winning fair 1v1 aim battles can still get kills by sitting in some dark corner
it also adds an interesting element to holding angles because you can't just ADADAD around a corner, if you do that in 1.6 you get killed through the corner

Its just the name of a really cheap gun skin - Forest DDPAT. (There are other DDPAT skins too.) Its pretty much one of the worst things you can get from the operation missions amongst other things lol.

Just turn some music on and turn the sound to 0. Makes it impossible to rage, and much more fun for non competitive game modes.
At least that's the only way I can play ffa without getting salty about people using the awp, or sound whoring
