So how do you guys discern info and stuff from pro games? I think I've got a rubric for it in my head, but I'm also Silver Elite and don't know what I'm actually talking about.
Stuff I have would be: general knowledge ala smokes, pop flashes, boost spots, angles for throwing mollys like on Inferno, tactics and strategies (which, I'm not quite sure how those differ in CSGO) T-side stuff such as 5-man tactics for taking sites and whatnot (some of these have been pretty amazing with double faints CTside stuff such as discerning which side they're committing to, proper rotation individual stuff like how to lurk, KDA, clutch, entry fragging, reaction time ala Hiko
And while we're here, who would you guys say are top players and for what reasons? I mean, some of them are really obvious like Hiko, Swag, Maikelele, and the entirety of fnatic, but how do you look at Get_Right and say he's amazing?
If you're silver and want to improve, focus on your settings, your movement and on clicking on heads Don't think about tactics too much, just about your general placement and rotations. Now if you just enjoy more the tactical side, you can take notes on everything you talked about, but you probably won't be able to use it effectively in matchmaking, at low level, and with questionable aim.

I like to watch 1.6 pov demos on youtube of players like get_right. Watching 1.6 demos helps a lot even for csgo as far as general cs knowledge is concerned because a lot of the visual clutter is missing. You can see the 'science' behind his movement/crosshair positioning much more easily.

Get_Right is amazing because he does the same "sneaky" shit almost every round, but he keeps pulling it off with amazing timing. As CT on overpass he does the same every single time when the Ts hit A, but it almost always works!
I don´t quite understand how Hiko fits in with the top of the crop, but I guess thats all opinion.
You cannot truly appreciate how amazing a player is until you play enough to realize how difficult or ingenious what they do actually is. So just keep playing, and you'll eventually notice the tidbits that makes certain players stand out.
As for Hiko, he's been off the past few LANs, but he has shown before that he can perform against the best. Whether or not that Hiko shows up again on international LANs remains to be seen, but iBP probably gives him a better shot than the current C9.

I wish there was a better way (that doesn't rely on your view model) for throwing that second smoke but it's surprisingly tricky to get right and I haven't found an easier alignment so far.
Easier second smoke? (from same position... maybe a little different, but works for me)
One more thing... When you throw the first smoke, its better to start aiming from left side of the right chimney (instead center of that chimney). That way, it fully smokes everyone holding this position But thanks for those smokes, if you throw them both, A site is super easy to take
Your second point I agree with. Actually noticed this after I had made the video as well haha. Definitely take the left side of the right chimney for perfect smoke placement! Good catch!
Your first point I'm not so keen on. I tried that when researching for the video and my issue is that it's EXTREMELY hard to get right. You have to be super pixel perfect with your two-dimensional alignment and 9 out of 10 smokes that I tried to line up this way were a tiny pixel off. They still land in an 'okay' position but from T perspective, there is a little gap to the left. CTs playing Ivy Alley can use this gap to pick you off pretty well:

get_right is amazing because of the numbers he puts up in high level matches and the fact that everyone knows he's a lurker and where and how he lurks and yet still have trouble vs him. Also as someone said, hiko definitely does not belong in a category with swag, fnatic and get right...
I don't know how outdated this statistic is, but I remember there being one where if two pros were in a 2v1 against get_right, he had a higher probability of winning than the two did
Aim here at top of A sign and between A sign and the line on wall. + Show Spoiler +
Then you jump smoke it and the result is really good. + Show Spoiler +
Ivy smoked off completely and just a very tiny gap on right if you crouch and look under corner of smoke. Best part is I can do it 99% very consistent.
ok. halp halp halp. i have this huge problem in/with cs go. I can rarely hit hs. By that i mean i constantly have to aim ABOVE people's heads in order to hs them. I don't know if any of you have that problem but it's really frustrating to constantly have to raise your aim in the heat of the battle just so that i could hit them properly.
this happens everytime, even if enemy and me are standing still (tried it out in one of the practice maps), so i'm baffled why is it happening.
Damn Faceit is weird. I had never tried it, but after 2 4V5 canceled games, I got a match, 0 mates used mic, they all seem around DMG+, one seemed to aim lock (weirdest flick while flashed), and the opponents were hitting AWP shots while being invisible but still sucking balls enough to get 16-2'd.. The hell just happened >.< Kotreb, your link is broken, and your issue sounds really really weird.

That sounds weird as fuck, could it be something like your crosshair not being centered? Do you use a funky resolution or anything that could mess with it?

I dunno, it seems weird. :D
Idk how could it not be centred :S
I use max resolution and it's the only thing that came to my mind, but i guess the resolution shouldn't be the problem XD

Nah man if people are willing to get special software that blocks the only thing that generates revenue from viewers for content creators they have every right to block users from using that software in return. Sucks for you though. Tit for tat.

Is the HUD otherwise looking like it should? Everything strictly on the egdes?
There's a bug where the game draws me something like 640x480 HUD on top left while I'm playing on big 16 : 9. Maybe if it draws you a 16 : 9 HUD on a 16:10 screen or something weird like that.
