So I tried to play CS:GO today. Turns out it causes bluescreens with AMD FX processors TT. Has Valve already released a statement that this is going to be fixed when released?

Anyone know if they will wipe all achievements/stats/ranks as soon as the real game is released?

From the article:
Other things, even tho CS:GO are a game that are Supposedly to be play in a higher Resolution then I’m doing, but for me. It’s just normal and maybe my eyes are pretty f*cked up :p The Crosshair Settings are close to getting Large size in 1.6 and I’m pretty happy that I found it after it took like 10 minutes or so. The Video Settings – Advanced is pretty much helping me when I’m playing on my Laptop, so I don’t lag so much and focus on my performance, but on my main computer right now, I can probably have higher settings as it’s a monster computer!
everthing he does is just personal preference ... ^^ and i guess the slightly smaller gun doesnt help you killing someone ...

Playing SC2 on low graphic settings is also a personal preference. A personal preference that the less "bling-bling" on the screen, the easier it is to focus on the important things, get a good overview etc. The same is equally true in CS. Having a smaller gun, for example, gives more screenspace to looking at what's important: the map around you and your opponents. You obviously wouldn't like playing an FPS where the gun takes up 70% of your screen.

or maybe they use it because you can see invisible burrowed units ^^ ?
the view model 60 -> 65 actually "pushes" the model towards you crosshair, thus taking more space from the important areas of your screen ....... so you might actually want to check this setting
increasing hud size -> also takes away from your view area....
sooooooooo if you dont do this you have more screenspace than if you do it hence not pro setting which you need to be OLOLOLO H34d05 just personal preference, get your own preferences :D
edit: try crosshairdot 1 and crosshairthickness -> my tips :D

I expect when it's fully released for someone to come out with a config that gets rid of clutter around maps like they did in Source, loving it so far, although Train and Nuke have been slightly ruined, they need tweaking, will have a look at the Nuke map someone has made

Any tips and tricks for a beginner ( sort of ). I used to play CSS but I was really bad at it. Right now the only weapon I feel comfortable with is the Deagle, mostly because it can only shot 1 bullet at the time and because it kills in one hit on the head. I really can't use the m4 and ak47. I try to burst fire but it seems that I never hit the enemy. On other hand, I see a lot of people just running around with the ak47 going run and gunning doing headshots left and right. Is that just luck ?

Its just getting used to it, try not to autofire your clip empty. Shoot in small bursts or even a couple of single shots. Don't move when shooting. Try to duck if the situation helps you.

If they're getting headshots left and right it's because they know how to play, not luck.
So to help you, first, use the AK and M4 as if they were the Deagle. The AK is a oneshot kill to the head, and the M4 does about 84dmg to the head. So just using them as pistols with 30rd magazines- if you consider that spraying you might land 1 in 5 bullets (and that's a prayer), you'd be better off just click-click-click hitting 3 for 3.
Most people aren't run n gunning tho. If you watch someone good in firstperson for a while, you'll notice that their crosshairs are always where they expect someone to be- that is, when they turn a corner they don't have to aim. The crosshairs are already at head height, and they make a sweeping motion as they turn it. Hard to explain, but once you start trying it you'll improve dramatically.

So what are the settings people adjusting?? I'm mainly concerned for controls/mouse sensitivity being similar to 1.6
I welcome the new graphical changes, so I don't have much to change about that. I just want to be able to move, aim, and shoot the same way as I did in 1.6
How to load the console? And did it have the same commands as before?

The sensivity also depends on the resolution and since i played cs 1.6 on 800x600 and cs:go now n 1920x1080 I have the sensivity on 3 to 3.2 instead of the 2 to 2.2 (still experimenting with them)

In lower resolutions you can enable higher refreshrates which was one of main reasons why people played on lower resolutions in 1.6 More Hz = smoother gameplay.
Refresh doesnt change RTS experience THAT much but in CS where split second costs your career yes it may. If CS:GO will ever go competetive you will expect people to buyout all 100hz LCD that can run in native resolution. I dont have such monitor, so i make a sacriface in resolution for a smoother gameplay, in 60hz there are "ticks" in gameplay you can load up 1.6 with -freq 60 and -freq 100 or 120 or higher and see how different controlling the recoil/aiming works.

Is that just luck ? First 1-2 bullets out of AK hit exactly where your aim is at. Dead on. But for that you need to stop and not move, so most of the time you will see people run, stop, shoot, run, stop, shoot... AK becomes deadly in the hands of a skilled marksman

I use to be a big sniper, so the lower the sensitivity, the better for me. I use to rock 1.5-1.8 sensitivity in CS:1.6
I'm trying to find the sweet spot in CS:GO. Also the crosshairs are not too great

I played CS:S the last time about 6 years ago with 1.35 sens, and seem to be doing good with the same value now, despite different mouse Also, try setting your zoom sens ratio to 0.77. Works really good for me and is a tip from frod.

A few thoughts on guns after some casual competitive with and against some CAL IM level ex teammates and friends:
- M4: Honestly, I can't figure out the mid to long range burst. Without silencer, I just don't see the point- I'll rarely use this weapon because of my next two points
- AUG: Buffed to be absolutely worth the price increase over the M4. The spray pattern is tight and predictable, it bursts up to around 4 shots reliably and med/long range. I probably won't use the scope very much, but this is *the* new battle rifle for me.
- SCAR-H: Wow. Absolutely viable in ranked play. I was able to get multiple 3 and 4 kills and one ace with this gun. This could be largely in part due to people not being able to 1AK me from long range yet, but it felt borderline OP. With good nades/spam, I could see this being added to a standard buy round alongside your teams AWP on maps like train, inferno, or nuke.
-P2000: Garbage, miss my USP. Didn't try the P250.
-P90: Hugely buffed, felt fairly usable... probably not in a match except on a small map or doing something like pushing apts on inferno
T:
Tec9: Very solid saveround/pistolround weapon. Perhaps even better than deagle for a pistolround buy. Incredible in those long pistol battles, where everyone is reloading except you. Solid accuracy and damage, loved it.
AK: Feels much stronger than the M4. Not used to the second burst yet- I shoot in bursts of two, and have come to "expect" my opponent to be dead on the second burst. Not so, quite yet. Perhaps I need to wait just a tick longer between bursts.
Additionally, the shotties range buff makes them feel actually usable situationally. The person playing lower inside on train got a few shottie kills, and I would assume something like pushing apartments on inferno or inside on train would work.
