After playing GO extensively, I learned the only real way to approach this game is like approaching a new relationship with a new girl.
Once I stopped comparing how much 1.6 put out and how big Source's boobs were, I was able to approach it with an open-mind and to appreciate and the learn the game for what it is: a new game.
Some things are worse about it, some things are simply 'different', but regardless its a new chapter in my life, that will hopefully last.

I wouldn't say sound is fixed per se... there are still a number of weird issues, artifacts or wave propagation problems. It is however much better than it was before the patch.

If you go to the Steam store and look at CS:GO, it says it's $16.50 as the "bundle" price and $29.99 as the individual game price. Maybe it's going to be $29.99 at release? Who knows!

Yeah, more or less. I played so much 1.6 that I still have the recoil control pattern for the ak ingrained in muscle memory. I'm pretty much a hopeless cause when it comes to anything being changed about CS.

Game is SIGNIFICANTLY better than source. It's a new game, but it is actually enjoyable and not 150% random. I've played classic CS for years and to me, the game sort of feels like a sequal to 1.6. New guns and new features but ultimately the same overall feel. I don't think everyone who loved 1.6 will feel this way, but I loved 1.6, HATED source, and actually LOVE go. It's a different game, but to me, it actually feels like counter-strike again.
You will have to relearn. However, relearning is actually challenging, fun and brings me back to the old days where I'd rage about my 56k preventing me from ever having a serious team when in reality, I was really just terrible.

Servers are capped at 24 people. So anything beyond 24 will kick you out to the main lobby. The only thing I am gonna nitpick on is model in Aztec. It is freaking hard to see if you jump down the water and try to shoot T down there. Even with scope sniper, it would take me like an extra second to realize someone is down there.
Also, WTF IS TASER LOL! Anyone got a chance to try it on someone?
Btw, it is hilarious when you see someone played COD. I saw a bunch of people crouching walking and shooting at the same time.

I am so surprised by how good it is. Feels more solid and rigid, a lot less floaty than source. I no longer feel cheated by wonky hotboxes.
Only thing awkward is when someone kills you and you fire at the split second, due to the nature of latency it appears you shot him at the same time and he doesn't have any damage. I'm used to that from my CoD4 tactical realism server days though.
The guns are sexy.
Absolutely love how each map has its own uniforms themed. One of the maps uniforms are a little hard to differentiate, but not incredibly so.

speaking of making it last, I don't know if anyone else is a mapping geek like me (I'm a SC2 melee mapper and I used to make basic maps for 1.6 back in the day)
There is already a pretty decent community of custom mappers on the steam forums - for example, someone is already working on remaking de_cbble

Is there a way to transfer a game into someone else's name? Or at least the beta?
I've played for the last couple of days and absolutely can't stand the mouse lag. I know its tiny but its still there and I think I just can't accept that a CS game has even the smallest amount of mouse lag (probably only 1/10 of a second) and increases with drop in fps.
Anyone wanna trade games? Any one with a dota 2 key they don't want any more?

Actually i forgot to check can you turn on cl_minmodel command ? (1 skin per team, was helpful in 1.6). That maybe would solve smaller issues in visibility. But i agree its hard to make a distinction between a foe and friend. A specially on maps like aztec where there is massive amount of distractions.
Btw im now using 640 resolution(testing it with 800 and 1024 aswell), someone said that in CS GO you won't use smaller resolutuions but i find it not true, cracking up 100-120 refresh (and according fps) on LCD is still useful. Actually when i loaded up 640 for a second i felt like its cs1.6
