Yeah sure, if you are rather new to the game I don't see anything wrong with playing standard etc. In general there's nothing wrong with it.
Personally, I'll wait for the 1 month for now. I'm kinda amazed that items from it won't get voided. It'll be a pretty good league for farming items.

Well, I got sick of having no currency, so I just made a character on tempest, grabbed all my gear and suicided so now I'm loaded for a lvl 7 witch. 1 exalt per level, yeh buddy :D

the economy in warbands is actually returning to normal no?
it's about 55-60 chaos to 1 exalt now. used to be 75-80 at its peak.

Item's are still fucked, and the price of chaos relative to other items is as well.

Only reason it's returning to normal is people are desperately trying to pick up chaos/exalted at the higher rate while they still can, season ends in less then 2 weeks.

It's returning to standard prices because some people that play warbands care about standard and know they can make huge amounts of currency if they sell their exalts for 60 chaos and buy exalts on standard afterwards.
Because I think they go for like 40c in standard?

Yeh people advertise them selling for 40, you could probably shop around and get them for 35, and people were selling exalted's last night for 15 regrets, so again, if you're willing to put the effort in you could get ex's for 15 chaos.
On a side note, with chances and jeweller's going for 5 to a chaos I've already made an exalted by lvl 22.

Nah I don't think what you say is true. Even on Warbands Regrets are about 1.2-1.5 times more expensive than Chaos. And on Standard they're worth even more, I could see them at 2+ Chaos so 15 Regrets for 1 Exalts might be normal for Standard.

The only thing I do not like in the game at this stage is mirror of kalandra, the way that item enables like 5 people to entrench themselves with endless wealth is fairly horrible imo. I can't see a way that someone like ventor will ever run out of money even if he stopped making items, simply because the mirror exists.

I actually can't think of a single good thing about mirror's with there current implementation. Like not one.

lmao got 1 shotted by Malformation boss in Tempest
was expecting it to be a little similar to Torture Chamber's beam damage where there is some reaction time available
instead it was touch = death

The one time I tried that boss I died instantly after joining the room. I didn't have granite activated yet and there were about 30 blue monsters standing directly at the entrance. I don't even think I died to the boss, but I don't know....

Sorry for your loss 
It's a big problem that some areas are not doable, I find it hard to level on because of that: every time I do a high level map, I can't kill the boss and miss out on a lot of possible map drops.

4800 hp + 75% resists is the bare minimum to not be one hit by certain things.

I saw a video today about a negative knockback whirlwind ghost-buster build which looked promising. No idea what kind of gear is needed and if that is considered cheap, but it did appear to be a lot of fun ^^

You need the unique gloves "empire's grasp" for reverse-knockback. Which you are reasonably unlikely to find by yourself but it's not impossible. Beyond that the vaccum player's gear isn't too bad, and usually somebody else does the clearing with MF gear afaik.

Hah, love it! Nice to have great stuff drop, malcram, I always like that, hope you can enjoy it somewhat.
As for me, haven't had much time, but I sold my major firetotem gems with prisms, now damage is quartered, killing stuff with my culling firetotem until the 6 socketed one overtakes it again. With path of exile's crazy drop system, even easy areas drop currency and I can't tell whether it's worse than in 75 level maps :p
