I'm pretty rusty on templar, but honestly didn't expect to win either way. Bit of a shame that throzz doesn't stream, but he did upload some record runs at times. ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2em7W6uBoGu4aQ9UJX_mSQ/videos) Doesn't seem like he does anything exceptional that I could pick up myself so, guess it mostly just comes down to luck and obviously experience.
The rewards were decent, but for me it was mostly just about the competition.

SRS has some of the sickest clear speed in the game, at least it used to.
I'd say on hard maps it has some of the sickest clear speeds since you can kind of run over everything (especially being perma vaal hasted on temp chains), but on simple blue maps that everyone rolls these days. Flameblast beats it by a decent margin, even after the nerf tbh. Also arc with curse on hit is imo way better than ball lightning. You may not hit as many, but you hit them instantly and have no issues at all with corruption blood. So I'm gonna be playing SRS in the 1month, and I have a couple of questions about your build.
What is the reasoning behind taking inner force and alchemist? It's hard for me to gauge how powerful these nodes are. How do you feel about Cloak of Defiance vs. Belly? It should be atleast equally good if you get a few mana nodes and some good ES gear right? Followup: If one was to go CoD, would Pledge of Hands be viable? A potential 7link with 100% increased mana for your MoM sounds interesting.
Edit: Oh, and what about minion instability? Sounds like a neat free dmg boost to me.
Inner Force and alchemist are probably for Atziri runs but I don't know. I played without them on my SRS and was doing fine (till lvl 92 then I got oneshot by Magnus in a shipyard). Cloak of Defiance: You have to drop haste if you want to use it which is IMO not worth it. Haste gives you cast speed (more spirits), attack speed to your spirits and move speed to both you and your spirits (which is essentially more dps again). It's amazing. SRS is quite expensive anyway so you should go for ES gear either way in order to get sufficient mana regen.
As to pledge of hands +2 levels(or +3) is incredible for SRS scaling I do not think lvl 30 spell echo can make up for that (also I think alot of people use empower in a 6link rather than minion damage, but I don't know about the math behind that particular choice).
Minion Instability will not trigger if the spirits expire only if they drop to low life. Since they will only be attacked by random AOE it's not really worth it IMO. Stuff will die incredibly fast anyway (unless maybe merveil in phase two or something).

Both inner force and alchemist are very good nodes endgame, mostly because there's nothing else that's really must have. Inner force affects arctic armour, even though it doesn't say so on the tooltip. Also buffs your auras slightly. Dat +1 max res with lvl 20/23 purities.
Alchemist are obviously supergood vs atziri, but even just for regular mapping. Since SRS has those increased duration nodes, that pretty much means lightning warp is terrible for running fast. Thus you often use 2x quicksilvers for mapping, which gets boosted by a fair margin. It also helps boosting your ruby flask vs casual magnus/igna/crema boss.
I don't think there's any way to make Cloak of Defiance work without gimping yourself too much. Haste might seem weak early on, but endgame couple with flesh offering, vaal haste and quality SRS gem it's very important in order to keep up with clearspeed since your minions actually outrun you even if you run at like 130% movement speed while buffed/flasked. I did however use lightning coil for a while, however it's so hard to overcap on ele weakness maps, or just curses in general with it. Especially since your jewelry needs so much dex on it, which together with resist rolls and mana regen are both suffixes.
Although pledge is amazing with CoD for most builds, there's just no way to make it work. I have no actual math at all to back up this claim. But I've heard a 6l pledge is roughly 15% less dps than a +3 6link staff without any cast speed. So if you happen to have one lying around you can definitely use it.
Minion instability is useless since your minions have very low amount of life anyway. And they only die to aoe or projectiles since mobs don't aggro on them. This is kind of silly sometimes seeing as it's easier to kill Abaxoth than it is to kill Haast.
Also it's not really my build or anything. I actually just googled different SRS specs, found havoc's theory crafted build list, made some minor changes since they nerfed Witch. Then added some personal preference endgame.

Empower 3 is apparently an upgrade over 20/20 minion damage (don't think it's noticeable) Empower 4 is a VERYdecent upgrade over it. However I never bothered with buying either. Didn't want to waste any currency on empower 3, and empower 4 went from 30ex to 40 when I actually had 30. Then no one ever wanted to sell again until it showed up at the end of the league with 80ex b\o :D
What are your builds for the 1 month league? Looking for a cheap attack based build, but couldn't decide yet. Did anyone play Burning Arrow in the last leagues? Wonder if it is any good
I am currently testing a bloodmagic auradin. Takes forever to get it going. I tried to use it with animate guardian but the damn thing vanishes after I exit the game. I switched to animate weapon for now, and I have to say im rather happy with how the build does (thou it is mostly a support character).
I have some empowers laying around (softcore standard league) but never got to use them, Will have to test them out later on.

just use the skill on the ground and he comes back.
you can unequip your item the gems in and it will despawn him to save him as well. Then you can respawn with using the skill again.
