If it turns out I don't need it, a rare hat will be fine Chest: The plan is for a regular chest, I would love to use Kaom's Heart, but with a 1 handed weapon and a shield, I would lose my six link. Weapon: Doryani's Catalyst. I don't think there is anything better than this. If the wiki page on vaal orbs is correct, there is a 10-20% "Physical Damage converted to fire" mod that can spawn on corrupted sceptres, so if I could get that mod on doryani's, that could eliminate the need for hrimsorrow (not quite, but 95% conversion to fire damage is good enough for me). But searches on poe.trade don't show any of those existing in any league, temp or permanent. Shield: Chernobog's Pillar. Necessary for fire conversion. Gloves: Hrimsorrow. Belt: I can only really see the doryani's fire belt being good here, but I guess a rare would be ok as well. Boots: Just rares, Gang's Momentum might be neat, but I think I'll need this slot for resists. Rings: Pyre x1, Rare ring x1 Amulet: I don't think there is any unique that would help with this spot, so rare amulet. I'm open to all suggestions, I'm not leveling this build right away, I plan for it to be my last character after I level the scion. Please tell me what you think, I really like this idea and I think it can go places. Oh, I almost forgot, Here is the version 0.1 build I came up with: http://tinyurl.com/l5s44sx I did a 100% phy to fire melee b4 so I can give some thoughts. What's your plan of 5L btw ? I assume Molten strike + multistrike + WED + added fire/faster attk + ??? ( you will definitely need a life leech/lgoh here as well, especially as melee, 1% from Catalyst or another 1% from belt will do very little ). Melee phy won't be good since it won't affect the molten proj at all. Now for the important part, mana sustainability ( unless you plan to use Soul Taker). 100% fire can't leech, so how to sustain. You prob have to drop 1 aura and have a decent lvl of Clarity, even then it's prob only 20 mana per sec or so with no mana investment. Obviously not enough. Hence you probably have to invest in addition 5-6 mana nodes. Or just drop a gem for BM, sacrifice dmg meanwhile. Life may be sketchy with at least 3 slot with unique/no life. Chernobog's Pillar base block chance is spectacularly low so I don't think it's worth it to go for block also. After looking at your tree, there are decent life but no mana investment at all, hence I don't think you can sustain even a 4L with that, unless ST or BM again ofc. Counting strength there are around 80% increase melee phy which won't go to the proj, a bit of a waste but can't do anything about it I guess. As a melee which no block & very little armor, I'm afraid incoming physical dmg is gonna be quite iffy ( read as: may get rekted very hard ). Skill tree can be improved. Since you're converting 100% to fire, ele nodes & phy nodes are equal. Hence the trip to Celestrial Walker cluster is pretty inefficient. I suggest investing into the convenient Bone Breaker cluster instead, with great value too. Otherwise dmg is good I think. TLDR: Sustainability, incoming physical dmg, stretch on res/life, skill tree can be improved. | ||

Regardless Path through the mana regen from templar start to get the ele nodes to save yourself 2 nodes (even if u choose to link blood magic its 2 nodes saved) Personally I wouldn't play a melee build without one of the OP damage mitigation mechanics (max block, preferably with aegis aurora  , or else MoM)Also if ur only intending on going to 65... 103 seems like a lot of points haha. | ||

I think that's one of the best weapon drops I've ever had. 197% IPD and 17-35 phys together is pretty nice. Too bad it's a mace and too bad Beyond is almost over. Although not really, I do want new leagues already. Not playing much anymore, most days not at all, though I try to catch Endless Ledge races but I recently always forget them or they're between 0:00 and 6:00 in the morning. | ||

I mean, claws suck compared to daggers. Swords suck compared to daggers since elemental auras got nerfed. Axes suck compared to daggers since forever. Maces suck except 2-handers for ground slam. When everything sucks compared to daggers and people are getting to level 100 in a month, it's time to consider that you just need to nerf daggers and maaaaaybe wands. Oh, and remove Elreon level 8 mod from the next set of leagues. That was what really drew the problem into the temp leagues. As a side note, Glacial Cascade+Added Lightning+Added Chaos with Herald of Ice/Herald of Lightning is really, really good as a leveling skill. Don't need anything but spell damage and a bit of cast speed and mana-wise it's dirt cheap. | ||

Though GGG said they have been monitored ppl & it's easy to check, they couldn't possibly know all the way back to Domination/Ambush right ? That means there might be a huge amount of godlike items achieve through a handfew of ex & et. Interesting. | ||

Most builds are actually pretty ez and inexpensive to gear. If ur reliant on weapons you can craft urself completely end-game viable weapons for fairly cheap these days and if ur not, spells are pretty powerful since spell echo became a thing so you should be able to hit 80+ on a 4link no problem. The only variation these days is that you need more defensive mechanics than just "life". | ||

Then I decided that it was ugly enough that I wouldn't want to ever use it and just enjoyed playing with the characters I already made and liked instead.  | ||
