Really? I'm not going to argue about D1, which is THE best game in the genre. D2 was a failure on every front for me:

And on top of that, it's way too casual/easy compared to D1:
Enemy health bars so you can see how good you're faring against a boss. Where's the thrill of not knowing if you'll manage with the amount of health potions you have?
Death costing you some money and a bit of xp on higher difficulty settings? Try dropping all your worn gear upon death and if you re-log it's all gone.
Nightmare and Hell version of equipment. What happened to good sword is good sword, worked on normal will have to do on hell?
No stat cap. Yeah, you couldn't have all that fancy str, dex or vitality as a mage in D1, forget about shields and better armour.

I'm tired, I can't go on. Need to find a way to play some D1 because all this reminiscing has sparked wild flames of nostalgia in me. D2 was so bad, TQ is a lot better in every department than D2 (but still worse than D1, which is better in all departments except losing to TQ in terms of high resolution/high-end graphics and shared storage).
