I've lost all faith in Blizzard after SC2 and seeing what's being done for D3 (and I won't even mention their fusion with Activision).

You win this thread.

We'll probably start sending the keys out sometime in the late afternoon of August 10 (US time). That's early in the workday of August 11 NZ time.
That's what the devs have said. Only 2 more days DUNDUNDUN

Some of you bash the AH in diablo 3, but why is it bad again?
Before the rare items would go to those who grinded the hardest for gold and tradeable items. Those same rare items can now go to those grinders or someone who is willing to fork over 600 bucks.
Is there really a difference between an item belonging to a no-life, or conversely, a savvy night-club going professional?

Does anyone have any idea about how many keys are being sent? Just approximately?

Interesting looking game, but why are the same two skills being spammed over and over for 5 mins that the new gameplay vid? oO

@Gescom, I'm told that's how people generally played d2. Regardless, it wasn't a huge showcase vid, just a small gameplay vid.

Tomorrow's the day! Good luck to everyone who's as genuinely excited about this game as I am.

Oh man the one day out of the 365 days of the year I won't have internet and this beta is being released..
|
|
100 per day, seems a little slim, but if they are testing their servers, makes sense to start low and work up the load, and hope nothing crashes.

Will it support offline playing (genuine question), I don't mean playing alone I mean if my connection drops will my game drop just like d3 will be ?

I beleive its all done while online, i remember reading something about being connected to their servers at all times, can't remember why specifically, but im preety sure you need a constant internet connection to their servers.

Yeah Just read that on ign
+ Show Spoiler + You can also play Path of Exile with your friends. It's not an MMO, but it does allow players to meet in towns, party up and then go into dungeons together. All parties get their own dungeons, and all dungeons are randomly generated so you can do them over and over again with slight variation. It might bother some folks that you can't play it offline, but all characters and progress are stored on external servers, meaning you can log into your Path of Exile account anywhere and keep grinding away with your character.
well since it's basically free guess I can't complain much and I hope I get one beta key, tho I would rather do the first levels on a offline game mode xD

Totally agree, mainly just because theres always latency even when playing alone in these types of games. Hopefully there will be less latency than im expecting, but any game ive played that requires me to go through the developer's proprietary servers, always have some lag, and it gets anoying. Just like sc2, theres latency, when there shouldn't be.

Hmm, does anyone know where the servers are physically located? If they're in NZ that does worry me a bit.
