This tree is 4 more points but I think it's better. IR + Unwavering + another endurance charge etc. I'd personally start this build as marauder with the life/armor nodes over the evasion/life nodes as the marauder ones are better but up to u.
|
Not sure how much I'll actually be playing the next two weeks or so. Busy with school and the Magic GP is coming up.
|
Can you actually get enough DEX to play bow marauder early on? With the removal of the light quiver it seems impossible to get enough DEX for it to work out.
Can always level SB until you have enough to make the switch though.
|
Spectral throw still levels fine as well its just less busted in a race setting.
|
That was the decision I had to go over. North vs South, Diamond Skin+Golems blood is standard BUT, the life wheel toward Scion gives 4% Life vs 1.5% regen plus it opens up the entire scion wheel for late game skills. I guess it's if the 1 extra endurance charge is worth it.
Yeah I agree w/ Marau being better, but I want to experiment with eva+ar combination w/o IR+UW for some reason. Inb4 ripperino.

Also resolute technique seems bad unless ur hitting people, in which case u need some weapon nodes. Also ur ele damage nodes are bad because as previously mentioned ur not doing any damage with tempest shield or molten shell. Also start marauder. Also why do you have exactly one endurance charge when ur right next to all of them? I just noticed that. If you are generating them reliably, then grab all 3 and go ham. If you aren't generating them, then don't grab the one in doolist.
thanks bro
it's just... i figured i would hit people with infernal blow or glacial hammer or something with my shitty sceptre just to do something

Thats legit. However, I think you'd be wise to then grab some weapon damage nodes and deal damage like that while using molten shell and tempest shield more for tankiness (which is really their intended use anyway). One handed mace you say? that is definitely workable and could provide some even more efficient pathing.
Especially if you are using infernal blow or glacial hammer, the ele nodes are actually workable although still not really as good as most physical ones.
I understand ur cool plan, it just so happens that you won't really do much damage that way. I have a friend who wanted to do stuff like that so he literally had 4 Cast When Damage Taken setups casting a billion different spells just for fun (they really didn't do much good) but he still relied on a weapon and weapon nodes for damage because otherwise he jsut didn't do anything
|
or elemental hit actually? i've got a spare library quest on another guy i don't need... hmm....
|
Elemental hit works best on very fast weapons so that you can abuse the flat amount of added damage it provides (contrasted to things like glacial hammer that want a high physical damage hit to convert to cold, and don't care about attack speed so much as just raw weapon DPS).
Maces don't really feature high attack speed unfortunately. Also elemental hit's added damage is simply not that high for a skill that costs rather a lot of mana. Also it isn't aoe .
But you could definitely try it. If you were going elemental hit, path through catalyze near templar but don't get any physical damage nodes obviously
Note that in my experience, the best way to do an "elemental" weapon build in the current patch is via aura-stacking (Wrath/Hatred give obscene amounts of ele damage) coupled with a very fast weapon. Although your build would have to sacrifice something to get enough aura nodes for that to work well IMO.

Does anyone have a Vaal Molten Shell in invasion that I could borrow for a moment? I just want to test something.

No one commented on my build

has anyone here tried using cyclone with wrath + added lightning damage, and then focusing on dual wielding rapiers with super fast attack speed? with some crit it seems like it should stack shock stacks super fast and wipe things out in AOE with little offensive investment into the passive tree.
pure theorycraft of course. but im building it right now.

1) Too many points used. A maxed out endgame build should be planned around 105-110 points and should work well with ~90 points. 2) SB scales very crappy if you don't invest into it. What this means is that it heavily needs damage nodes, EE and double curse to not fall off in maps and even if you do that it's rather shitty since it can't party with other SB builds and has awful damage projection compared to actual endgame builds 3) Summons scale via gem levels (for Zombies) and Auras (all of them). 4) Not enough life. Even for a summoner I'd recommend 200%+ at the very least. If this is about a SC build ask others.
tl;dr: You're spreading yourself too thin. Summoner+Dual totem is a lot already and you're not fully invested in either. Why IR? Why MoM without EB? Why do you start as a Templar in the first place? =P
Here is a quick example of a solid summoner build that'd most likely work fine even in HC, but I'm sure the people who play them in the current leagues can give even better input. =)

Died offscreen to the tentacle miscreation like one of the popular folk! Kind of suprised, -10% chaos res 8k armor 3400 life, dropped like a rock, like 2 projectiles, also have bubble spectres 3 of them and 8 zombies up.. kind of confusing.
At least on the plus side as a summoner I don't lose all my items when I die, yay for snapshotting

I don't think dual wielding is worth it. With cyclone it seems to just alternate weapons, it's not like cleave where when you hit you hit with both weapons at the same time.
If you can get 2 really good weapons and wouldn't miss the ~15ish% block chance you'd be missing out on by not having a shield or any defensive stats a shield gives it might be good.
I have an elemental spectral throw build that uses RT + static blows, and for piety/lunaris farming I switched to using cyclone since it's a lot better vs piety for 1v1. I have 3k cyclone dps in an effective 3L (It's a 5L with 2 links being BM and LGoH, but I have a thief's torment equipped so if I had the right colors I'd be using faster attacks + probably added chaos or cold) at lv 67 and the tree isn't even really optimized for a cycloner, it really was just intended to be a really inexpensive build to gather up some currency with.
The other problem with cyclone is it seems to be an all or nothing crit move in my experience. Either the whole cast of cyclone crits or it doesn't. Cast on Crit builds can get away with it since they only need 1 crit to burst the mobs but if you're just waiting on shocks to start killing things it might not be worth it without much more than "a little" investment in offense. Static blows would be way more consistent for shocking even if you did decide to go the crit route.

apparently there are ci players who got instaraped as well, so i think its pure physical thats hits REAL hard.
heres proof immortal call blocks chaska 100%

So ... after reeping my Searing Touch on my 3rd Flameblaster(in general) i played. I wanted to try something new. The idea was an IceSpear Crit build where i convert 100% cold to fire and proliferate the criticalstrike-burn. It turned out not too bad. But at around Cruel Ledge I somehow experimentate again with flameblaster ... and well, crit!
My new build: Critblaster - Flameblast v2.0.
I leave out Chance to ignite in the usual socket and swap it with PoC. I am NOT using a searing touch, I use two daggers with 80% implicit, spellcrit and spelldmg.
The result on lv69 on Invasion: 4,5k tooltip DPS on flameblast, 54%crit (+critweakness = 63%).and 275% multiplier.
Current iteration of the passivebuild:+ Show Spoiler +
Background info: I played flameblast to lv81 and played it in one week domination race to ~72. Started out on Invasion as typicall conc effect blaster. The damage from the critblaster exceeds everything I have expierenced so far with flameblast. ^^

Im more concerned about the apparent inability of projectile immunity bubbles from blocking projectiles than anything else here, I don't stream so I don't have hard evidence, but its not the first time I have noticed a unique boss hitting me or my spectres while their bubbles are up with attacks that are considered projectiles.
Kinda stupid if its tuned that hard, with my stats, players have survived ossecati's smash attacks, why should a range monster hit harder? At least if it was chaos tuned you could say something..
Watching that video, the guy has 27k armor and without immortal call would have died in 1 attack... guess ill be using codt immortal call on my summoner that has 0 available gem slots to protect from offscreen instant deaths ?
*edit* Apparently the deathrain that does a billion damage before any human could possible react is a spell, which explains why it went through my spectres bubbles.
