So the 17 non-Vaal gems have become completely obsolete, I take it. I don't think there's a single instance where a level 21 gem is better than the level 20 Vaal version.

But if you play decently, they basically charge themselves. :D
I'm running a character with Siphon single target, Vaal Siphon and Vaal Fireball + Trap for boss killing. It's actually stupid effective.

So I finally am using righteous fire and I am very pleased with it. Less boring than I thought it would be.

I took the threads advice and am using searing bond to level. It's honestly easier than when I was leveling characters at the end of the last league in full twink gear, it's just ridiculous. Not exactly sure what I plan on respeccing into once the damage starts tapering off, but right now I'm almost done with cruel and I barely have to pay attention :p

had only 16% CR. got hit by his Ice Spear and wasn't worried about it. started double striking to his face and then went from 1400-1600 HP to 0 on this guy
reading a thread that says he has LMP Ice Skull (which I assume is Arctic Breath) and guessing that is what killed me

Don't think you're the only one who died that way, he does seem pretty harmless until he shotguns. After all, the map version is kind of a joke.

Yeah, the invasion bosses are getting more and more insane at later levels. I almost died to the dual strike guy. He did nothing for 10-15 seconds straight and then suddenly ran to me with incredible speed and choped me down to 400 hp within a second. o.O Dunno, there are also a lot of bosses with new names and even new models (and completly different skill set) that aren't listed in the invasion boss challenge. Kinda weird imho.

I think all the bosses have some sort of buff after you drop them below certain hp. I know they said it about the vaal area bosses

Okay so I used a Vaal orb on a level 1 frenzy gem for shits and giggles, it didn't really do anything besides corrupt it, no changes to its implicit properties. My question is, will I still be able to vendor it with a prism at level 20 for +quality or should I scrap it?
Also, fuck that vaal boss that requires zero corpses to spam unreasonably fast zombies. What a fucking wanker...

So I bought the burning + rain of arrows vaal gems on my critt split arrow shadow. But for some reason they seem way worse than the other Vaal gems. Seems like I'm better off just using regular attacks 
The burning one looks impressive if it crits, but the RoA seems terrible regardless.

Heh, RoA is just a slightly buffed RoA with a root component? That's sad...
Maybe if it had +200% AoE, or if it fired at nearby enemies on top of that.

I think most Vaal Gems suck. There are some cool ones but the idea of Ultimates never grew on me. And most of them are Ultimates in terms of "CD" but not in terms of power. Vaal RoA seems to be more of a utility skill to lock down dangerous groups.

scrap it, you can't increase the quality after corrupting
