Also, fuck that vaal boss that requires zero corpses to spam unreasonably fast zombies. What a fucking wanker... scrap it, you can't increase the quality after corrupting Source? Because I don't see why the vendor recipe shouldn't work as it's not technically a modification of the item but rather the creation of a new one.

Yep, I would assume the recipe still works.

Somebody should test vendoring a level 21 gem with a GCP just to see what it offers you (don't actually do it lol).
And "buttfly" is an advertiser his other post has a malware link just wait for the mods to nuke him

I haven't tried the gcp recipe but you can't delevel a corrupted gem with a scour and I read it multiple times on the forum

At some point I intend on corrupting some level 20 auras on softcore, I'll probably test the level 20 recipe on the ones that aren't affected by the corruption.

Well there is the Searing Bond nerf and a bunch of good hot fixes. Probably still does enough damage to be good to level with still though.

How does he advertise if nobody actually understands what he says?^^

Yep, I think it's too easy to level but later on the possible links are quite limited. What I don't understand is why all the people just level with searing bond in the most boring fassion and the resulting hate for that skill. There are so many cool things you can do with Traps, Spellcaster Totems, EE etc. to make Searing Bond a really fun build. Now everyone is hating.

Today was the first time I died to a desync, very annoying/sad. All my previous deaths were my fault, but just felt cheated this time around.

How's the viability on flameblast as a main skill? It seems like a fun spell and that is pretty much my main priority. Would links be something like faster casting / conc effect / fire pen, or would it be better to go a burning focused route?

Its pretty great actually. I would take the burning route though, never seen it otherwise. A Searing Touch is obviously what you want then, and I think you need some quality gems to get the ignite chance to 100%... Pretty sure you'll find a decent build for it on the official forums.

I used a Searing bond / Flameblast build to level in ambush, and had a lot of fun with it. The combination does more damage to a single target than SB could do alone, and it's oh so satisfying to nuke a huge pack with a single shot of flame blast. The thing with flameblast is that you have to realllly pay attention to the mods. The FB area can start to get insanely big, making it quite easy to hit mobs offscreen, and one offscreen reflect mob will happily allow you to oneshot yourself. A number of times I only realized a yellow mob was ele reflect after beginning the cast, and would have to keep the cast going at lvl 10 until my SB killed the yellow or face certain death.
TLDR more fun (and probably more effective) than SB alone but has serious auto-RIP potential.

I'm doing the same thing in ambush. Its a pretty strong build and you get by with really crappy gear. Its great for stacking up the currency.

Havent played since domination. STarting from scratch was wondering whats a good trap build? I've read around about non crit, crit and elemental equilibrium. If i recall traps only scale off elemental damage and not spell dmg right?
Thinking bear+fire trap. How come some people dont run lightning (is it cause of the lower crit chance?). And opinion on shadow vs scion

Fire trap scales of spell damage (and I suppose lightning trap does so too, but if I remember it right you'd rather use trap support gem and shock nova or something like that).
Dunno how shadow vs scion is now with the changes tbh
Edit : Pohx had a pretty good guide going : http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/553899
I think he is working on it to get it up to date.

Pohx's guide is great. Also, there is no reason to go non-crit trapper. Since traps don't reflect to you, you should always go crit (or EE if you want...).

Well.. if you go non-crit, you have no reason to take any crit nodes whatsoever, which frees up quite some points for survivability. That and crit is more expensive gear-wise. If you only solo and level up with it, I'd rather go non-crit until I get rich and hit lategame. So there are reasons to not go crit
|
Nope, wrong. Crit everything! Blow it all up! (haha yeah, the reason I say go crit is because there will be extra points. But with the hp wheel nerf more will be needed in hp..) =)
