I think the only thing I will be corrupting is gems and skills. Already lost a level spending a Vaal on my FP. lol.

Also does anyone have a +1 fire gem weap/shield on HC?

Hmmm, made it to 22 in Invasion before the inevitable rip. I didn't really expect haste-aura monkeyboss to cast multi-proj arctic breath from melee range. Invasion feels like a league for people who really appreciate normal difficulty a lot.

38 or something in ambush, pretty fun. I can see myself blowing a dumb amount of currency on some boxes.

Also 0 vaal orb drops across our 5-person playgroup

Vaal orbs are useless anyway. Wouldn't bother using one until I've got a 20/20 gem personally. Depending on value they could be chance orbs I guess for low level gear, but I doubt they'll be that worthless. Huge gamble using them, but the payoffs are also pretty good for some items, specifically gems with great quality bonuses or that level 21 spell gem for the extra damage.

Corrupted areas are randomly generated so there isn't really any new areas or levels. These areas are a lot of fun though and the bosses can be extremely challenging.

Damn in the thread a Tabula got +1 to Level of Gems in this item. Wow.
The mod pool for this seems to be endless. Imagine Soul Taker hitting Culling Strike, Void Battery hitting +1 power charge ( has happened on amulet, not sure about weapon ), or Lioneye's hitting lack of mana does not prevent your attack from ST. The possibilities.

Stuff like 4% chaos res Koams are like... strictly better than normal koams (LOL) but still not even close to enough better to be worth the risk (Also +1 level of gems Koams XD).

It's definitely creating some wildly GG items like that tabula (OMFG), but I think it's destroying GG items at a much faster pace. Essentially, It's probably doing exactly what GGG wanted it to do.

Haven't seen any white-socket twilight eclipses yet but I'm sure they are out there.

Also very interested in buying certain level 21 gems but thats on standard and I have no real intention of playing that character in the near future lol.

just started playing this game (about 6 hours of playtime now) and I really like how the combat feels. Melee as well as casting is really fun, have played mostly as shadow, also tried a little bit of duellist and ranger.
I think using the bow with the ranger feels rather awkward as she stands there 'reloading' (lacking a better word here) after the shot for short period and you can't immediately move away after shooting. Does that get better if you have a few of the attack speed passives later on?

Also I hear some people saying that you need a perfect build before you even start playing and everything planned out. Is it really that important? Or is it okay if I do my first play-through in a more fun and casual way, just experiencing the story and get a feel for the game and not worrying too much about getting the most out of every single passive skill point?

You can't animation cancel in path of exile. It does get better with higher attack speeds.

You're going to hit a roadblock eventually without an optimized build (likely around cruel act 3 or merciless act 2), but it is a great learning experience to do it yourself the first time rather than copying something you don't understand.

Got hooked back in the game, playing in Invasion. Some bosses are crazy, like the one that cast some kind of Ice storm and throw Freezing pulse traps. Closest I've been to rip... Regular bosses all seem rather easy and dull in comparison.

Anyway, made my way to act 3, killed Piety. Soooo, time for Dominus I guess. Never fought him... If anyone wants to party for that or just give me some hints, that'll be welcome.
Character name : JustChillYo, ice shot as main skill. Of course.

I had a merveil daughter invader right at the exit of the first town. Kept spawning stuff, all I had was split arrow...
Anyone also had invader spawn in pairs ? I got hasted artic breath monkey and his fellow fireball user. Fun times ^^

First characters should never be too carefully planned. There's simply absolutely no way you will make an "optimized" character on your first try. Its in fact quite unlikely that it will be endgame viable either. Who cares? Go have fun with it, discover what parts were cool and what parts sucked. Figure out how you wanna make ur next character

If you want a well-crafted tree there are lots of people who can give you suggestions, but don't prioritize that right now.

Everything feels much smoother as you get higher level and basically animations get shorter as cast/attack speeds go up. Normal difficulty actually feels really clunky to most people.

For endgame, sure you need to plan ahead and have a optimized build. Most of the game, not that much. Prioritize defense, get some offense and you're good to go. Once you hit a wall in progression, you can always reroll and use your first char to farm items for the others.
As you have noticed, the game offer enough that you will want to try different thing. Having a few bad characters is definitely ok, just have fun.

So far I love the new patch. So much fun. The corrupted areas really want me to explore every area as a whole and add a fresh experience to them as well. The bosses are quite challenging and the safe reward at the is really nice. Invasion bosses are also quite challenging and really add some chills during HC play. Especially the Chaos Damage ones and the Spiders (ugh, that white spider has really good art).

Lvl 23 right now, found 2 Vaal Orbs already but I don't think I will use them (probably seel depending on the prices).

Ah, and Flameblast OP vs Bosses.

OMG the new unique unset ring is literally white except "+5 level to gems in this item". No links ofc so you can't use like mega-empower.

Sounds pretty legit with searing bond. And pretty much every spell in the game. Rofl.

Howd u find 2 vaal orbs i hate u lol. I think they are pretty valuable atm although who on invasion has the currency to buy? Rip them to softcore on a mule LOL (yes I know u don't care for SC currency).

I have to say that this is probably the best expansion I've ever seen. Normally expansions make the game way easier by adding god-tier items and skills. If anything SOTV made the game WAY harder right from level 1. I've already died 5 times in Invasion, and I'm loving it haha
