Each portal scroll you now find can be turned into higher level currency and over time this will be a lot. Why would you pay high level currency for portal scrolls when you can just buy a portal gem though? I have the portal gem and its a bit annoying as it has a ~2 sec cast time and any damage interrupts it, while scrolls are of course instant.

In late game maps/endgame, do you think Vaal's pact is a must for Witch CI builds with Life leech/Ghost Reaver? Or can I just skip Vaal's pact and just get all the shield cooldown + more +ES% nodes
OR
Should I just skip Ghost Reaver + Life leech completely if I dont plan on going Vaal's pact with my Witch Ice Crit + CI build and just focus harder on +ES% nodes/cooldown and critical chance/multiplier? Would I be too fragile for endgame stuff?
Any input would be really helpful, I really dont want to be buying regrets later as they are expensive -.-

no seriously, did most of act2 and almost whole act3 in groups where i can contriubute quite good with decent dmg and 2 auras but alone im just food and die a shitton.
but the grouping is so easy that i really enjoyed that (minus the targeting issues and fucking lootninjafags). spent more time playing with others in 5 days of PoE then in all my time in D3.
speaking of which, someone wanna sell some PoE stuff for D3 gold/items?

Pretty fun so far. Played it a lot today and got my Marauder to level 18. Unfortunately after getting very close to killing Merveil, I ended up dying due to horrible lag, couldn't get my spells off/get away fast enough. Rather unfortunate.....hope they fix these lag issues T_T
Ok, killed her now after joining a party...but why in the fuck is loot shared? some fucker just snatched up all the rares the second they dropped. At least D3 didn't have that shit...guess I am going solo this game :/

Is freezing pulse a viable main spell to do maps with? Or does dual ice spear outclass it in every way?

It's not completely shared. A piece of loot will have a player's name on it for a few seconds before becoming free for anyone to loot. Pick up your stuff quicker.
It's probably the most debated issue on the PoE forums, so GGG may take a stand on it one way or the other or make it an option when forming a party.

Have you played Diablo2?  the fact you have like 3secs to grab your own loot is actually an improvement over Diablo2 haha

Only played a little of D2 with a friend, never played pubs so I didn't know about shared loot lol, or I just don't remember...that was about 5 years ago. Oh well, at least I might only have to do that for the big boss battles. Even though games like this can be very social, I just prefer to explore by myself at my own pace.

I'm still hesitant on joining a party. I really enjoy this game solo as it is. I guess I have been waiting for friends to play with but none of mine have tried it out yet (and they have no idea what they are missing). Still though, after raising a few characters to mid 20's-40's I finally decided to try the fork+lmp+lighning arrow shadow. Dear jesus.
Anyone want to play though just friend me, one of my char's is Hoban. I'm in act 2 cruel or act 3 normal with my characters so...yup!

Ok, Vaal on HC cruel nearly gave me a heart attack.
Did it in a party as had 0 chance to do it solo, ended up getting 80%ish of my hp chunked in one ranged attack.
While I tped back to full hp after every hit, still the chance of lighting + rock at once made me scared shitless.
After all, only 2/6 people died in the fight >.<

Did a bunch of awesome trading today. Highlights were 6 socket 4L ilvl 63 white Thicket bow for 2 alch, trading 6 alch for 12 fusings, and trading those fusings and 60 jeweller's orbs for an exalted. Woo hoo.
Looking at the affix list on the PoE website, I noticed the Adrenaline suffix for flasks is listed as lvl 5, but I believe I've heard people saying you only need an ilvl 4 flask to roll it? Is this a discrepancy between the information on the website and how the mechanic would sensibly work or do you in fact need an ilvl 5 flask to roll adrenaline? It's also funny that the half the suffixes need a higher ilvl to roll, so an ilvl 5 flask has a really easy chance at getting adrenaline.
The other thing I noticed is that it should be possible to roll my ilvl 63 thicket bow until I get:
+18-32 Physical Damage
+223% Physical Damage
+99 Accuracy
+25% Attack Speed
+34% Critical Strike Chance
+<one more suffix>
I can dream
It's kind of lame that all the +dmg mods are prefixes. That makes it impossible to roll decent damage blues.
