A rare can have 4-6 properties. A magic item can only have 2. Guaranteed at least 2 additional properties rolled on it when you use a regal orb. When you craft with a regal orb you generally start with a white item (with max links) and use four quality items on it so that it is 20%. Then you use transmutes/augmentation/alteration until you get two affixes that you want. After that you'd regal it and hope it rolls additional properties that you want. If you're really rich you might scour it and try again too if it doesn't roll what you want ^_^
This is a really expensive crafting method that you use once you're rich and are hunting for not only a good item, but perfect rolls on said item.
and does anyone know what Elemental Hit is trading for?

I just sold one for 1 GCP 1 Chaos, but that was more of a steal for me than anything else. It isn't very good anymore, I gave it until being lvl 15 to work well but Ice Shot out performed it always.

I dont know Why ppl are so upset that its hard to find good gearbeitet. Thats the fun in an arpg...
And craftig issnt like in other games. Its the Same like farm the items : you need luck. IT only takes one Aspekte of an item to reroll it not all three (mods, Sockets, base values).
I rly like the System as it is coz it makes me wanna farm :-D

Actually, Regal adds only +1 ability. You get a rare with 3 mods. The advantage is you can roll mods on item with Alts until you get perfect ones, much easier to do this then with Chaos :D
Then you use Regal and then Exalted. Another more common way to do this is for maps, roll with Alts until you get two best mods for maps and then Regal it.

You have to consider the Bonus on phisical dmg ice shot gets with levels.
On the other hand i think burnig arrow is rly nice. Its dmg is rly good and scales well. Plus the costs are low. I run an ice shot burnig arrow ele ranger atm.

Yeah, but that bonus on physical damage has to be more than what the elemental hits for...

At what point does the game really "pick up"
Levels 1-6 have been really slow so far.

Honestly depends on your build. My witch is level 26 and it's actually even slower, because I'm running a really late-game build without any of the skill gems I need. But I knew this going in.

usually A1 Cruel because it's easier than A3 Normal and you've accrued enough SP to start getting a feel for your build

What should I expect to pay for a reduced mana gem? I have no idea what anything is worth really but I am starting to accumulate a good number of orbs and dont wanna get ripped off.

Reduced mana is going for ~1 GCP (expect to pay a bit over that) on default. A lot of people are trying to sell them for double or triple that because so many people need them though.

RF stops when you are at 1 hp(irrespective of how much ES you have), so righteious fire stops instantly when you have CI.

This i find a little "strange".
Ive got 2 Templars.
One has Summons + a bit of Lightning Stirke/elemental DMG.
One is "classic" LS/Shield Tank/DPS.
The guy with the Summons was WAY weaker during "normal" but for some reason is doing better in Cruel (as long as there is not too much elemental dmg, because summons are a joke against anything that does elemental dmg)... My LS/Shield guy that actually needs to Tank got his ass handed to him in the fertid pools -.-, "side missions are harder in cruel/merciless"... Yeah, if you have to tank they are, else you don't even notice it....

Well summons get much stronger mid-late... they're pretty ass early-on. Early being... normal.

I wonder.. How exactly do they get stronger?
Is the scaling of the games that extrem towards later levels?
Are the Uniques with bonusses to Summons that strong?
Btw: My Summons from Act 3 on were very good and still are, they tanked cruel Brutus whiteout a problem.. I think i lost 2 of my 5 Zombies (and i am missing ~4-5 life nodes for them). But one of these "normal" Fire-Goatmen before Brutus? 1 shot, dead Zombie... Feels just stupid to be honest ^^.
