Have you watched any youtube videos explaining conquerors of the atlas? Coming back to playing from pre-atlas days and it was very informative on how all the mechanics work and the optimal setup.

If you understand the mechanics its probably either bad luck or lower drop rates of maps. This league seems to have less currency/map pinatas as crafting is built into the harvest garden. At the same time, it's basically free to alch every map using harvest crafts.

Absolutely did not think about harvest-crafting maps. Thank you so much. Watched 2 videos about the atlas, both talking about different strategys but I guess that's okay and I just have to be a bit more patient. I'll be gone for a week, afterwards I'm gonna tackle red maps. Thanks a lot guys.

I love this league on SSF, the crafting is great. Probably the best league ever to play SSF. Still some improvements regarding the crafting options is much needed, it's a pain to read through it every time.

I think the league is allright so far, not the most exciting but atleast not super complicated, but the official forums are all doom and gloom. What do you guys think?

People are to obsessed with trying to min/max the 'farm' to just enjoy the league.

Theres nothing to min max. It's just standard league with the occasional "clear the garden to spawn 20 mobs and condense all the lifeforce". I got my first t4 seed today, it needs more than 5k lifeforce altogether. Thats a lot of running maps just to condense seeds with no payoff.
The mechanic is basically non existant, but at the same time it makes you feel bad if youre not as much into crafting that youre missing out.

There's not even that much crafting to do. You get a bunch of alch/chaos, the occasional remove/add so you can change a crafted resist into a real one, a bunch of minor currency/div/gem gambles. For the most part, it's good to improve mediocre gear, and it makes the really expensive crafting a bit cheaper. It makes a few targeted crafts much, much easier (tailwind).

It was great while leveling, for jewels, and might be great if you're going for mirror-gear, but chaos spamming shaper rings is 10x more engaging.

I think the biggest problem is how condensing works. The league would feel a lot better if you could save up crafts and use them whenever you wanted. If it moves to core it will have to be streamlined significantly like bestiary.

Expect that killing will unlock crafts instead of giving you a limited number in the future. Probably not during the league, but if it makes it into core.

I understand that, but they're too expensive to matter for most players. You need to harvest a whole field of T2 seeds at once or a T3 seed to make one. I haven't gotten a T3 seed yet, but I'm not too deep into maps yet. I've probably got enough T2 seeds to make one if I really tried, but haven't felt the need yet.

The T1 seeds are so common that you don't need to save them. It's a feelings issue more so than a practical issue I think. It's a significant loot change to pick up a bunch of items to use your free alchs, but there's no way to save these alchs if you don't have enough or the right bases to use them immediately. Most of the popular game loops revolve around instant rewards, typically in excess of normal.

Apparently there's a bug with Wave of Conviction if triggered by the new Arcanist brands right now, that leads to shotgunning and dealing extreme damage. GGG knows but hasnt announced whether they will fix it or not. This is Herald memes all over again...

Yeah, I felt like that has to be the case. I was leveling with Arcanist Brand + Firestorm & WoC early on, thinking it could trigger two spells. Then I realized it halves the cast speed of each so I tried Firestorm only and it was a lot of worse in terms of single target against high hp bosses (that stand still even). So I've been using WoC for a long while now, it's really damn strong (but the clear is kinda awkward, I've been overwhelmed in Legion, Blight and maps with Breach mods so it's not all OP).

For a bosser I'd recommend Ball Lightning miner over this any day, the gear requirement is a bit higher since the dmg potential probably is through the roof for WoC Arcanist Brand, but if you don't gem switch to another brand or use it in a different link setup BL miner just feels more solid overall.

Still should be fixed of course, I wonder if they'll do it soon but in any case I best prepare rolling some items in case (I'd first try Firestorm again ofc).

Been a bit busier at leaguestart than usual; have done the opposite of my usual SSF leaguestart - held my nerve and got to the first few Conquerors with a reliable starter (Fireball/Flame Trap Chieftain), but wanted something a bit more ridiculous so have just levelled up that 7-keystone mana RF Heirophant. Was initially a bit rough when I transitioned at L45ish from PF/WoC spellslinging, but it turns out the Dynamo notable with Steelskin on left-click makes a huge difference. Just need to grab a few more of the staff spell block nodes.

Was talking about atlas completion in guild chat; posting a clearer explanation of what I'm talking about here. This is basically the strategy laid out in this guide, but that thread is so wordy that I found it hard to follow, even though it's all correct.

Here's what I'm doing:

  • 1. Do white maps aimlessly to get a few completions for the bonus and a decent white map pool. During this stage you don't care about which ones you're completing; having white map completions won't cause you problems later, because we're going to be using watchstones to prevent bad maps from cluttering up the drop pool.
  • 2. Once you have enough white maps that you have several from the same corner region, grab those maps and do them one after another. This should spawn your first Conqueror. Run it and get your first Watchstone. Socket this Watchstone in one of the interior regions. It doesn't really matter which one, as long as you have a couple of map completions for that region so the maps there can drop.
  • 3. Do the same for each of the other three corners, fighting the second through fourth Conquerors. Bank their Watchstones, don't socket them in a region. During this time, you should be getting a few drops of maps in the region where you have one Watchstone. You'll use these next.
  • 4. Socket two of your banked Watchstones in a different interior region.
  • 5. Run maps from the region that has one Watchstone, to spawn your fifth through eighth Conquerors (you should already have these maps because they were dropping during steps 2-3). During this time, you should be getting map drops for the region where you have two Watchstones socketed, but not anywhere else (because nowhere else has enough Watchstones socketed to drop maps of that tier).
  • 6. Now that you're done with the first interior region, unsocket its Watchstone, so that it no longer competes on the drop table. Socket three of your banked Watchstones into the third interior region (one where you haven't done any Conquerors yet).
  • 7. Run maps from the region that has two Watchstones, to spawn your ninth through twelfth Conquerors (you should already have these maps because they were dropping during step 5). While you're doing this, you should get map drops from the region with three Watchstones socketed.
  • 8. Unsocket the two Watchstones from the region you just finished, and socket four of your banked Watchstones into the last interior region where you haven't fought the Conquerors.
  • 9. Run maps from the region with three Watchstones, spawning your thirteenth through sixteenth Conquerors, and getting map drops for the last interior region.
  • 10. Unsocket the three Watchstones from the region you just finished, and socket four Watchstones into any corner region.
  • 11. Run the maps from the final interior region, spawning your seventeenth through twentieth Conquerors, and getting map drops for the corner region you just socketed.
  • 12. You now have 20 Watchstones, meeting the requirements to fight Sirus for the first time. Do the Awakener fight. After this point, Conqueror spawns are no longer guaranteed in eligible regions, so it'll take longer to spawn the remaining ones.
  • 13. Unsocket the four Watchstones from the final interior region, and socket them into a second corner region.
  • 14+. Run maps in a corner region. When you finish a corner region (have fought all four Conquerors there), unsocket its Watchstones and move them to a different corner region which you haven't finished yet. Repeat until you've done all four corners. Then socket all your Watchstones everywhere (for max Awakener level), or in regions where you like the maps (less Awakener level but don't have to run maps you don't like), and farm at will.

...aaaaand now I'm almost as wordy as the guide I started from.

The point of this whole rigmarole is that at any time after your first four Conqueror fights, the only valid drop options for maps at or slightly higher than the tier you're running are the region you're currently running, or the region you'll be running next, since everywhere else on the Atlas is nothing but white maps because you don't have any Watchstones socketed there. This makes it way more likely that you'll get the map drops you need (or you're about to need) as you go along, instead of having to buy maps to do progression.

People are not happy about the new stash tabs haha. Feels like a really scumbag move and since they posted an indepth reply and more promises as appeasement merely a few hours after the first complains they 100% knew this will upset the community.



None of those tabs are vital, the items are all relatively rare, dont take up many slots, but whats even more insulting is that they could have just added one more agnostic row at the bottom of the currency tab and fixed blight maps being searchable in the regular map tab. That would have been enough...More stash tabs hurts sorting loot even more.

I assume there is a large group of players that doesn't buy MTX but did buy a bunch of special tabs.
If you want them to keep spending money on the game to fund future development/profit you need to find a new non-MTX thing to sell them.

It's not entirely false that the currency tab is pretty dense already and can't reasonably grow indefinitely. At least not at the pace they are adding league specific currencies.

That said, this problem shouldn't just be shifted into the consumers wallet like this. Especially not in such a poor fashion (these new tabs look an awful lot like the delve tab, something that I badly regret purchasing due to its very low usefulness despite 'organizing' for you)
