Nah, afaik it means that magic and rare items don't drop from monsters. You can still craft them though.

Nah, afaik it means that magic and rare items don't drop from monsters. You can still craft them though.

Yeah this is correct, monsters don't drop blue/yellow items, just whites, currency, uniques, etc. It seems like a fun way to focus a bit more on crafting gear, leveling and mapping, but on the flip side also less trans/alt/alch income from vendor trash lol...

I think it's ok if you're in a group and don't have too many other restrictions

I can't fathom having fun with something like SSF + no stash + no vendor + no blue/yellow. just seems masochistic

Yeah we're not interested in ANY of the other mods, way too punishing or pointless. We're just considering a private league for 3.11 to do "group found" instead of SSF, and no magic/rare drops was the only mod that sounded interesting at all. Still technically more challenging of course, but in a creative way, not just more monster hp/dmg/speed/etc. (and yeah the other weird no stash and stuff is just silly, we're still trying to play the game here lol). I just curious if anyone had experience with it and how they liked it.

Only thing I could find was ZiggyD did a private league with no rare/magic, and they had an honor system where trading was only done through trade chat. So you had to "advertise your wares" and stuff. Couldn't find any footage but seemed like people had fun.

Warcries seem pretty strong. Shouldn't this make Berserker busted? Since warcries won't share cooldown anymore you can have 2-4 in your build. The fast attack speed nature of zerker doesn't have great synergy with the Exert mechanic though. I wonder if something like Tec Slam zerker would be strong. you can get "covered in Ash" from infernal cry so Chieftain doesn't seem super necessary

I'm already planning to do Tec Slam Jugg but the warcry stuff does have zerker on my radar yeah. Hoping to see more footage, and see the changes to the passive tree (presumably, given the language of the new keystone they revealed; wouldn't make sense for the current notable that has instant warcries to stay)

Possibly OP for single target damage, but surely not OP for mapping uses. They do share cooldown if you pick the new instant warcry node which is kinda mandatory if you want to put a warcry on left mouse, and melee characters already have decent options of buffing damage if you're willing to click many buttons (totems, possibly berserk, placing banner, possibly switching gems).

I could imagine playing a 2h staff Berserker with Sweep and getting glancing blow and instant warcry. Probably would use Intimidating Cry since it looks the best for physical damage buffing. I do wonder how much double damage chance it gives though, I don't think it gives 100% even if the GGG post kinda implies it.

Depending on how exactly the exerts work I see 2H builds getting more mileage out of them, which is part of their overall goal with this league anyway isn't it? I feel like I remember 2Her buffs being mentioned generally. Might be forgetting. But 2Hers with their fewer hits bigger damage will make each warcry press (each exert count) feel better and last longer. Rather than insane 1H attack speed instantly burning through your stacks, where a duration effect is more comfortable (like a banner/totem/etc as mentioned above). Even setting aside buffs we haven't seen yet, 2H in general will feel a bit better with their push for mighty big slam skills/supports anyway.

At least it's stuff to think about. I'm still defaulting to plain old Tec Slam Jugg but will keep an eye on how good these turn out to feel, either testing myself leveling or just watching what the streamerzzz do.

on further reflection. it's hard for me to see how the warcry changes will help 2H be competitive with top tier builds. The main issue with 2H is slow attack speed and thus slow movement speed, which warcries doesn't address

warcries and exert means more damage, but well that really help general clunkiness? I suppose the AoE warcry or the infernal warcry can help give massive AoE and thus improve clear. But the faster DW builds will also benefit from the warcry changes even if it's not to the same degree

I was thinking a great budget bosser would be Chieftain Warchief. Just slap down the totems and spam several warcries to get the sweet exert bonuses

I'm going to play EQ Jugg no matter what but I have a bad feeling it won't be able to really handle T16 juiced maps unless I have really good gear

Oh yeah you're absolutely right, they don't make the build any less clunky in general. 2H needs way more help for that. But each "press" of a warcry will feel better with a 2H since you don't smoke through the charges instantly, meaning you might not have to press the warcry as often, meaning it doesn't slow you down as much. Idk that's just really broad discussion though, both will feel like shit if the difference is only pressing it every 5 seconds instead of every 3...

They also buff the slams with 2 hand. As I understand. Giving the a support gem that will out cast, so u can run a round without stopping to Attack. Also one of the WC will increase the Area of the next few slams.

Think that WC will be useful for most classes there is a defensive cry, one that buff allies Attack, one that is defensiv. One that summuns but think u need to be Melee for that to be useful

Tribal Fury on the passive tree and the +1 striker range nodes leading to it seems extremely good for strike builds, but I can't quite imagine playing one, they're too inconvenient to play imo.

Also the teased craftings options are cool, especially for SSF (which I'll do this league, been a while).

I hope that Spectral Shield throw gets a buff or better yet a rework, because I sort of like to build a Capt. America build. Would be awesome if they allowed unarmed to synergise with it.

Glad they reworked warcries, but not happy that it happens after cluster jewels made them about as mandatory as impale mechanic. Melee seems so pigeon holed to fix their problems.

If second wind works with Warcries next league, I think that'll be amazing. The double damage warcry is literally 100% more damage, should be able to melt bosses

It works with them now, I don't see why it wouldn't. Note that if the warcry becomes instant however you don't get the second charge, but just the CDR.

Yeah, Tribal Fury's a big one.

Trying to figure if the Agnostic moving to the tree allows a different way of running Righteous Fire from L36 or so - I've done it via a bunch of life flasks and Blasphemy-Poacher's Mark, but that was five or so leagues ago, and I'm sure things have changed a little since then.

Since I left Delirium a little early, I hadn't really considered how cluster jewels opened up builds that normally would suffer from being on the wrong side of the passive tree; mulling over things like a Fire Trap Chieftain where you can grab Set and Forget/Guerilla Tactics/Arcane Pyrotechnics from a couple of cluster jewels while keeping the league start/SSF-friendly beef/fire damage from Chieftain+left hand side of the tree.

Trying to watch some spell Marauder leveling things - found VoDs of Goratha in the Marauder race from last weekend (spellslinger WoC/Purifying Flame Chieftain); think that's the same setup Heshla ran in the class race to 80 to get first Marauder. I need to practice using Smoke Mine!

I guess it would still be better to have just 1 warcry with a bunch of cooldown recovery speed (+the crit cluster notable = good damage), but I like the idea of using 3 warcries in conjunction.

Spamming Infernal or Seismic Cry for clear, Intimidating Cry for anything stronger, and Enduring Cry as another defensive cooldown / oh shit button, is a lot of good options. Warcries do come out pretty quickly too. And it can mean that most of your hits are exerted, = big damage.

It will slow you down noticeably though... maybe its a good setup for when you are low on gear / early league, but otherwise, I'm begging for some 50%/100% increased Warcry cast speed nodes

using smoke mine takes a bit of practice but it's not THAT different from using other movement skills. there's a rhythm to throwing the mine then hitting detonate right after, not too different if you've played any other mine builds. It's super worth it for most builds leveling

I'm assuming multiple charges doesn't let you get the effect twice, right? Just flexibility and CDR and more uptime

yeah. It's just nice for the CDR and allowing you to have double the Enduring Cry defense emergency button, have 6-8 hits in a row all be double damage.

dunno if people care about this sort of thing, but PoE Overlay and PoE Planner are part of Overwolf now, which is apparently shady / ad spammy / malware esque. So beware if you want to use those programs. There's suggestions in the thread on what trade companions to switch to (Awakened PoE Trade or Side Kick)
