It was fun, I compelted all the content in a few hours

Just because i promised - the reason why i pretty much stopped on SC after getting to 36 challenges just in time:
+ Show Spoiler +
might be able to show my face once in a while, but honestly its hard enough getting anything else done, be it work or day-to-day stuff

I dropped a mirror if Kalandra this league so I had a lot of fun, lol.
But now I stopped playing too so I have more time for other things. Although maybe I try to level a SSFHC character in some weeks (never tried)

Yup, on the 19th. Seems good to me, doesn't seem to have a timer mechanic or similar stressful stuff. Maybe the clicking to grow the garden might be annoying but idk. It looks like a more engaging Metamorph league, which is a league that I loved.
Yeah, the AoE of slams looks big. Probably gonna be quite nuts. I wonder if that patch will finally manage to make 2h competitive with dual wield.
|
I hope they design the micromanagement stuff well. It reminds me a little bit of synthesis, which had huge potential but very poor execution. Also they are both blue themed lol
I wonder if they will gut Archmage. Sounds like they are taking away the ez mode brand recall on left click, but if archmage survives in some way... brands will be a looooot easier to manage then some 2h jank stuff
I'm tentatively looking forward to the league, but it's not as immediately exciting as some other leagues. Maybe that's for the best, a slower paced league is welcomed after delirium's stress induced mechanics (which I enjoyed for the most part)
|
As far as i understand brands are dead on arrival. Chris said brand recall will recall the brands to the spot they were casted on rather than at your feet, which effectively makes them just sticky totems.
|
Invulnerable sticky totems that let you leech and benefit from on kill effects.
|
Also, anyone up for any kind of HC? Not looking forward to begrudgingly playing SC because everyone I know is there.
|
I have questions about the server stability at launch with everything thats been going on in the world and their history with launches.
I am considering HC - at least for my first run-through, the new engine makes a world of difference on my PC, so it might not be as bad .
|
I'll most likely do HC trade my first run. I haven't tested out the Vulkan stuff but my internet is a lot more stable now
Also the league mechanic seems a lot less rippy than delirium so that's a plus
|
I like how vibrant the colors are, and the garden should be quite fun to manage. Also can't wait to play some huge EQ slams
|
HC trade it is. It seems you can stack several legion keystones now that they're on the tree, the power creep is so real.
|
on the one hand, with cluster jewel stacking still in, I'm sure the power creep is still there and ridiculous (even if heralds are gutted)
but, delirium in t16 is rippy enough and takes so much damage that I'm inclined to think some of the power is truly needed. especially if you are playing off meta builds

Because most 'good' builds can clear entire screens (or even multiple screens) in under a second and kill offscreen GGG feels the need to make mechanics more rippy.
You can't have monsters and players exchanging blows, the player dodging an especially dangerous attack or not dodging it and taking a chunk of damage and after failing a few to many times the player dies because everything dies instantly, often offscreen.
The only way to threaten a player that instantly kills everything is by doing the same back to him. Because there has been so much power creep GGG has to make the enemies more and more dangerous to characters who measure their dps in how many times they can kill the end-boss per second.
The solution to super rippy league mechanics isn't to give players more power, its to hit player power with a sledgehammer so that mobs don't instantly die and they live long enough to do slower more gradual damage that a player can react to.

Thats true in theory but the difference in power between builds and even the power curve between investment cutoffs in the same build is way too extreme for that to be possible. While the majority of people want to play the strongest fastest build possible a good portion also enjoys funky builds that arent as strong but still need to be viable. And someone who invests 20 ex into a build is 2-3x stronger than someone who invested 5ex and if you invest 100ex it's an even greater gap. Say you balance slow and steady around 20ex, then it wont work out for either end of the spectrum.

You don't balance around the 0.1%. And you can destroy the top levels of power scaling without overly impacting the funky builds.
A simple think off the top of my head is crafting. Most players don't extensively craft for amazing items but the many mechanics added over time allows for truly disgusting items to be created. Hitting things like that will likely have minimal impact on the majority of players but go a long way to reducing the top excess.

I quit delirium about a month in. Are Heralds still fairly strong even though they got the nerf hammer? I guess none of this matters until the patch notes come out for next league.
|
they were still super OP after the midleague nerf. it did cost you anywhere from 80ex to 200ex++ though so it was kind of a pain in the ass to actually build. I didn't bother
they are likely going to be nerfed further
