I think the rewards are alright, but the difficulty of some things is stupid. The on death effects are way overkill, like every monster has one it feels like. This leads to what people describe on reddit, kill everything, but don't loot yet or you might die. The negative eggs on which you can run are just dumb as well, even when trying to avoid them I often not manage to do it - depending on the map layout it's often natural to walk on them.

I really don't like this league. You don't see shit. The Monsters that spawn are ridiculously fast and tanky. The shit you don't see can easily kill you. Can't talk about rewards but whiteout some fast and tanky build you probably better skip the league mechanic until you decided, that you don't need to levelup anymore. This kinda feels like Legion 1.0 but with less obvious graphics (at least you knew that "the red stuff" killed you, not that you could do anything about it :p).

And once again I do not like the fact that you can interact with league mechanics before maps. I really think that is bad game design for such wild content. I know I can ignore it until maps, and I personally do, after dying to it once but I still don't agree with that philosophy of letting players interact with such rippy and untested/unoptimized content so early in the game (basically from the get-go)

I can't play for the rest of the week but I was mapping T4-T5 and it was nice. I like how the rewards scale and when you get to lvl 4 or 5, shit get serious. I once got a T5 rewards for map and got 2 unique one... including the grand master hall T__T

Like everyone else I hate the overabundance of on death shit, the way everything looks exactly the same, and some of the cancerous debuffs that apply based on stuff that you cannot see or literally have to run through to progress. The inability to interact with these debuffs specifically is the issue. Performance has also repeatedly slain me (specifically in delirium encounters, usually when combined with another league mechanic of some variety eg boxes, shrines, breaches, etc). This is ignoring day 1 ddos stuff (lab crashed/DCed 5 times on me). I like the direction of offering large difficulty increase mostly controllable by the player, but I think implementation specifics can improve a ton. Especially the very odd tension between how hard the league pushes you to go fast fast fast when it's ostensibly a league designed to slow down map clear times and reward slow but powerful builds (I think?) I'm very interested to see how this development manifesto goes.

The other complaints are all valid ofc, fuck all the corpse explosion bullshit, which you cant even prevent with shattering or explody chest because the fog mobs dont leave corpses. Performance is terrible in denser maps with investment and the overall visual clarity is at an all time low. It's like they havent learned ANYTHING from metamorph where a big complaint was that it has a solid black ground effect. But that is even weirder because they did learn from that and removed the ground effect on metamorph encounters and STILL somehow thought the fog would be a good idea. Im at a loss with this company.

Problem is I'm not too motivated to try anything else right now because of the melee horror stories lol. Is leech sucking on deep deliriums (no regen / high mob mitigation) really as rough is it seems? Or are people just blowing it out of proportion? Seems to be popular to hate this league, a whole three days in...

Do you basically cast Bladefall like an aoe splat, then manually blade blast after to do a big aoe detonation? I don't like the delay built into that either but it would be pretty easy to spellsling your bladeblast and automate stuff, 5L for clear is probably fine. Or do you need to bladefall a few times in a row before you hit blade blast for max effect? I'm not sure how exactly it works, I know people are playing it I just haven't seen it yet in my personal stream/vod adventures. I've played ED Contagion many leagues before, I'm not opposed to the "2 spell" style rotation/delay on principle, but for some reason it's bugging me a lot these last few days. Maybe I'm just not in the mood, or maybe it's something about the way Delirium feels. Can't really put my finger on it. Also the amount of clear potential you get from 1 cast of VD doesn't compare to a good ED Contagion spread, maybe that's part of it. The delay vs outcome ratio lol. Even though Spellslinger automates the literal button presses, the overall delay and tempo of the playstyle just isn't vibing with me right now.

i put it on auto attack, and then set up a helm 4l and a chest 4l (still only level 48). seems... kinda OP to be able to use two X-links in conjunction like this. i autoattack and so much stuff shoots out. im doing like, gmp fireballs for my 5 or 6l, and then a 4l set up with wave of conviction and that one that creates the consecrated ground, and then also increased AOE.

I think spellslinger fundamentally is really interesting and probably will have lots of cool combos. I'm just bored with the desecrate/VD setup already.

I think I saw some tr/ca builds using frenzy + gmp + curse on hit for some boosts. Good idea to use that as your main attack. Been running a generic minion necromancer. Skellies felt pretty bleh while leveling so switched between some setups. Didn't like anime weapons, probably is only cool if you have some built in "weapon generation". Manually casting like bladefall and then recasting your weapons mid combat sucks. Saw someone use cyclone cast while channelling EK for that. Currently just using slave driver spectres for absolutely brain afkness. Heard some mention that you can get some insane spectres from baran influenced maps. Gotta investigate and test them. Not fully sure on my final setup though. Feel like i want to run so many gems as summoner that I actually run out of gem slots... Do i skip the offering stuff and go commander of darkness + bone armour? Sounds like a huge waste to skip the offering stuff. Prolly better to drop the fortify movement skill. Found a small (8 nodes) large cluster with Unwaveringly Evil and Unspeakable Gifts (the explody one). Game telling me I should have rolled bane I guess. Then again I have been watching thi3n a bit and he is struggling. Dying a fair bit and bad boss dps. He isn't using ED to boost his single target dps though. Feels like he failed to adjust to the metamorph boost to boss hp/resists. ed + bane gives me pretty respectable dps in path of building. He is having some bad luck linking his stuff to be fair though. Dont mind delirium, but i only died randomly to it once thus far. The backtracking for loot or losing time on the fog is pretty annoying though. Still like it more than legion or synthesis. edit: another build i am interested in is the storm brand hierophant using Archmage Support for lots of damage. Skipping the actual spending of Mana via Brand Recall.

I'm doing it as fire conversion chieftain (very similar to BV fire conversion chieftains that got over 10m DPS with good gear) but they nerfed caster bows (no more 20% more spell DMG mod from fossils, the mod didn't get replaced lmao). I think it might be better as elementalist or assassin because of that (also because you dont need to play it melee style). The tldr is that you press spell cascade bladefall and immediately press bladeblast which blows up the blades smoothly as they fall. Cast speed is absolutely key since you need to get two spells off to blow up real mobs (obv white trash dies to just bladefall). Spell cascade bladefall hits behind you as well which is real nice for kiting. Vs bosses max DPS is 3 bladefalls per bladeblast but that's only if you can get off 3 before they move off your blades. Anyway chieftain is shockingly high quality of life if you've never played it (outside cast speed issues and lack of dex and early damage from the tree). Tons of leech, 50% increased life recovery rate (pog), big Phys gained as fire/fire pen etc. Im messing around with a high armour version that might be able to run RF to scale damage and improve the ability to charge into a giant clump of mobs. Realistically my build needs a good circle of anguish or two to scale the damage to OP levels which are like 6ex each right now. I also haven't figured out if it's still worth trying to craft a 6L bow now that you can't hit the spell DMG mod. I encourage people to test triggered versions of the build just to avoid the need to cast multiple abilities which I'm bad at but idk. Tldr; no pob from me sorry build too unoptimized.

Also I guess it also adds a decent amount of monsters and as such experience, so if you don't struggle with it it's just an extra. Personally I don't skip any of them but if it's the shitty ones I just play normally.
