Unless it's undocumented in the patch notes, the "20% reduced AoE per chain" value isn't changing, which is going to cause it to shrink SUBSTANTIALLY slower than previously, although it's also going to not be nearly so big as it used to be assuming you were running increased AoE so on balance i'm not that convinced that it's really better. bo1b just thinks it's really good as-is.

Also of note, nowhere in the patch notes did they indicate that they were fixing the 1h + wand bug. Which makes me wonder if they tacitly approve but don't want to outright add it to the game for flavor reasons as well as not confusing noobs

Lmao according to the survey on reddit so far no one is planning to play Lightning Tendrils while 10 guys want to play Shock Nova as their league starter... I mean they probably saw foxtactics play it and that looks very satisfying and strong. However the strongest lightning dps skill in Lightning Tendrils is gonna have higher AoE now at higher levels (same at lvl 15, higher starting lvl 18)... I see no sense in playing Shock Nova (aside from that it looks cool). I'm still thinking I'm missing something or GGG missed something in the patch notes. Or they just didn't have the time to look at all skills.

A few more things I find that stand out but which haven't I seen mentioned so far:

Skills:

The Zombie buff is worded weirdly ("will be used more readily"), most likely insignificant, but could be massive.
Wild Strike could have potential on e.g. Inquisitor but it's also namelock. The dmg is nuts though.
The changes to the passive tree (buffed/denser sword clusters, connection to Vitality Void from outside, more accessible+buffed Revenge of the Hunted wheel) sound pretty massive in the bottom right area. If things like crit swords or Varunastra can work around EQ/BF changes there's potential there.
Combined with threshold jewels not requiring points to be allocated there are likely massive oversights for niche builds given GGGs history with these things. That can be an easy 10+ points saved for some builds, making them viable/strong all of a sudden.
Blood/Mind Drinker now being all attack damage means ele attack builds might be able to avoid Duelist cluster, not sure if relevant yet.
KB AoE got buffed (!!), if someone can think of a singletarget solution for wands they're even more gg than before.

Items:

Voidbringers legit for all builds now since 40% versions exist.
Items like Immortal Flesh or The Rat Cage have potential now that -maxres is gone from them.
Ming's Heart/Carnage Heart can be pretty good now.

Prolly have to go through each and every item and see if there's any other change that really stands out.

Personally I'm between Spectre-Summoner, Warchief Totems, FB Totems -> VSpark and my Scorching Ray/Xirgil's idea so far as league starter. Don't feel like anything really stands out from patchnotes when it comes to starting out.

It's not like Wanders cannot have ST... it's just pretty expensive. Just leaving this vid here:

Guy has really good gear obviously, and he's using a unique that gets buffed in 2.6: Thunderfist. That's where his KB is in. 6L is Barrage.

Steam patched my game for 500mb, but server still shows 2.5 for me (?)

his kb is in a chest swap lol it's not in thunderfists
and his gear is "around 8 10ex jewels, everything perfect corruption, no "mirrored" gear but the characters end worth is a few mirrors, level 97, 3 or 4 each of level 4 empower and enlighten, etc"

no, 2.5.4 patch came out fixing some character effects thats all. 2.6 comes out on friday USA time (Giant countdown on the website)

E: another "underdiscussed" patch note to me is :

Weapon critical strike chances have been adjusted. Most critical chance values have been reduced on base types that could have over 6.5% base critical chance.

I guess we really don't have values but this change has me worried

Oh right, I was looking at the guide and it's a different guy in the vid. Lol, woops. I think the 6.5% thing screams a nerf for Sceptres (why though) and Daggers...

rip strength HoWA (brutus's lead sprinkler) crit I guess. Didn't even think of that.
also lower values, no % gain, no dex scaling, slower attack speed, no vinktars synergy, I don't think it's actually a thing but it's a funny idea.

maybe it's good with crown of eyes and iron will and some eb/mom/zo shapers gloves (maybe geofri's too?) scaling

problem is the more uniques you add the less slots you have for flat strength
Although I agree that would very likely be the end-game ammy for the build.

brutus's lead sprinkler not offering any strength in contrast to howa really hurts

Blasphemy will get such a hard nerf with this patch since you get so much area and curse area from the gems and passive tree nodes and the base AoE of curses is pretty low. Only seen a thread on Reddit about Auras getting a nerf, but the Blasphemy range nerf is on another level. But curses are so good so it might be justified.

OoS also got two huge nerfs, so applying curses in general is gonna be much harder. Which is good, considering the "reduced effect of curses" on maps is only 40-60% now instead of 50-75%.

I asked before but couldn't get an answer. How would you guys rate ngamahu's flame fire conversion cyclone? I'm thinking of doing that because it looks fun, at least probably until there are more HOWA's on the market in the new league. But I want to do a build that's capable of all of the end game stuff since I've yet to kill uber atziri in a league.

If you want to see ngamahu's flame cyclone take on uber check out mathil's youtube video on the build (or anybody else you can google up idgaf) you'll see how well he handled it and you can decide from there.
