In HC it makes sense to do the whole shebang with champion perma fortify + LC goiing to the leftside/ templar and as much defense you can stack, but in SC I think it's fine to trade for more clearspeed and then depend on clearing from far away + evasion to survive

Well, I've made a champion voltaxic la/br character got it to 95 and I'd like to try something new. Is kinetic blast a viable skill without sinking more then say 10 exalts into it?

well, it was pretty expensive when i did it in beyond. but now, i don't think it'll be as expensive. a GG wand and your trinkets are probably what's gonna cost you and a 6 link of course

well...don't see why not if you can get insane ES out of your gear. that would be shavs + crown of eyes i guess. 7k+ es maybe?

my old build was a daresso's defiance, rat's nest thing. but it was far from optimized gear wise, clear speed was good though, this was in SC.

is kinetic blast even popular nowadays?

I got to late Act 2 Merciless with a elementalist dagger witch (wild strike), which is quite funny.
Right now I'm mainly having a very hard time with the very inconsistent damage output, both from me and the monsters.
Some time I'll just two-three shot everyone, and take very low damage from them, and the second after the same enemies will one shot me.
I must be missing something but I don't get what. I went through it with some friends (e.g. affixe monsters, stuns, crits...), but still don't know how it can vary so much.

Good examples of this are Perandus chests (white) monsters that will remove about a half of my shield with the first big wave of attacks, then one shot me with a small part of the second one.

kb is the only wand skill really (except barrage for CoC). Fortunately KB is GG with pierce (explosions proc on every mob it pierces) so the new buff to that gem makes KB quite good right now. KB/GMP/Pierce/(your choice of dmg supports) is defintely the setup of choice for wanders. Helps that KB explosions shotgun so that's your single target too (although u need icewall shit).

Power siphon is like trying to use frenzy as a pack clearing spell for bows but worse XD

Perandus mobs just have really inconsistent damage and tankiness. Being melee against them is pretty fucking awful, especially with a target-capped skill like wildstrike. I trust your resists are capped?

I hate perandus boxes at low levels (anything pre 50 or 60). They can be very hard to deal with and very rippy if youre standing there in your shitty leveling gear with not much damage. I just skip them below maps tbh.
That's the 2nd time in a week I've seen someone sig a quote from this GD and I have never witnessed a sig quote happen in my TL history ever before. -Najda

actually barrage works better for single target in KB builds, at least from what i've experienced. ice walling is about clunky.

LC means you can justify running PoL though

Going left gives you more hp and lets you pick up endurance charges and whatnot, I haven't played it but it seems it's tankier than going right but I admit I could be wrong. I guess you do need to go left as duelist b/c you need the pierce wheel? Dunno how it feels with drillneck + gem + maybe a jewel

drillneck doesn't increase spark pierce chance and 65% isn't enough, ESPECIALLY with a drillneck.

Right side is 200-220% life, depending on what exactly you want, apart from that Endurance Charges are a bit awkward on this kind of build. CwDt IC protects you from the worst bursts, against anything else you got flasks/acro/EV/fort.

Also Frenzy opop.

Wrath + Temp Chains Blasphemy also pretty good. Really don't see why you'd want to squeeze in PoL instead. =P

The literally only crazy things people going left get are Ele Overload and the 2nd Inc Duration cluster. Both of which are nice and probably awesome in parties but for solo or with 1-2 people your damage is strong enough as it is. Even then Duelist is also just 4 pts away from the other Duration cluster but I didn't feel the need for it at all so far.

I've found that the perandus hoards have pretty crazy variability in terms of strength, so I'll use my minions to gauge whether or not the hoard is super strong. If my minions get crushed pretty fast, then I'll be extremely careful... They're great buffers for pretty much every monster situation I've come across, which has let me feel out how daring I can be (as a scrub still learning the game)

well like you said, dont need more damage and PoL is double effective against lightning dmg and big phys which are the two scariest

ive been doing blasphemy- warlords (seems kinda useless though the leech is nice) + clarity + HoT, temp chains seems like a solid option maybe ill take one of the 20 gems that are in the guild stash for some reason...

im running 7 frenzy charges right now and it feels pretty great, completely negates loss of speed from winds of change, extra proj speed but i'm slightly over the point where mana regen can keep up with me.

this is my tree right now, i'm at 170% life but not sure how to squeeze out more.

this tree is the same # of points, loses only elemental focus (bad node imo) and paths next to thick skin and fangs of the viper for more efficient damage and life nodes as you level. If you spec into it at your next level you'll lose grand total 4% dmg. Small problem is you lose 10 int/str if those were already an issue (which i'd guess int is )

alternately just finish written in blood and take profane chemistry not the most efficient nodes but no respeccing

I'd do something closer to this. that's my duelist version but you get the idea.

Those Chaos damage nodes in the middle aren't that great if you figure in travelling, Herbalist is awesome, life/ev at ranger start is right there. The nodes past Acro are a personal thing I guess, this pushes 220 life if you skip the damage at Ranger/Shadow start and go up to Atrophy+Written in Blood instead (that's what Zizaran did, I mostly stole from him) but ehhh not a big fan personally. Take all the 3 point jewel sockets late obviously. Also don't you dare skip Druidic Rites. :3

I kicked out Warlords Mark+Clarity for the leech boots enchant. It gets really awkward if a boss doesn't die from Vaal Spark but that so far has only happened in parties. Temp Chains also double dips with poison and due to your movespeed you pretty much run out of any melee attack animation with it anyway.

oh yeah i forgot the ranger start life
those nodes own forget my tree just fill out those life nodes xd

I don't like filling out entropy much tbh although if ur going for sniper i suppose it could be worse

Atrophy + WiB seems better than infinite 10% dmg nodes going in to class starts but w/e. Shame atrophy cast speed doesn't work with spark lol

I actually hate 3-point jewel sockets I can never afford half decent jewels to put in them

Atrophy gives 8.9% dmg if you ignore the life nodes (those *do* become efficient but only if you want to push past 200% total. In that case I'd kick out the starting damage nodes and go for that). Shadow/Ranger starts are 11.2% each. The int is nice but nothing we can't manage with a bit extra on gear.
