You think playing great in the Euro wouldnt get someone else the Ballon?
Like Sneijder carrying NED to 2nd place during the 2010 WC and being one of the top performers at Inter when they won the CL?

Yea that was a travesty wasnt it, didnt even make top 3, but tbh for some reason it seems to me that as far as international tournaments go, if your team doesnt win then everything you did counts for zero, I dont get the logic but if they even bothered takijng into account even a little bit of his contribution in the WC he was a no brainer. But since his team didnt winnn.. prolific scorer on double winning team gets it. Doesnt make sense to me. Thats kinda why Iniesta made it to 2, final winner and a decent worldcup and bam straight 2. Missed more than half the season? No problem..
Usually if you do decently at the club level and lead your team to a win in the euros ot WC you should get it, thats how its worked for the most part historically (unless your team was Greece or something). Alot of stuff doesnt make sense anymore, makes me feel old.

Yeah I remember a Dutch journalist saying that we can better give Messi the ballon for the next 10 years because if even such a performance isn't enough to win it then what is..
Funny thing is that even if Bayern managed to win the CL and Germany won the EC, I wouldn't know who should get the Ballon d'Or (same for Chelsea/England). No one's really sticking out like Messi and CR7 do in their teams..
So, with Guardiola leaving Barca, many people will be linked with the Barca job of course. However, Roman Abramovich has ALWAYS been a fan of Pep, always when Chelsea are searching for a manager since Jose Mourinho left, Pep has been first choice every time. With him now jobless at the end of the season all it is going to do is spark Roman off to splashing out as much money as he can to get Pep to manage Chelsea, regardless if Roberto DiMatteo wins Champions league or not. So the whole summer imo is going to be based around "Can Roman Convince Pep To Come To Chelsea" its all it is going to be. Will pep be able to turn down the big money and refuse to work in England. Leaving Barca im sure he must think there will be a slim chance he will be able to go back after his break? Pretty sure Barca will not leave the door open as the next manager could do even better than Pep?
Im still skeptical myself as a Chelsea fan if i would want Pep as our manager, he has proved he can manager big name players and get the right results playing lovely football, but can he get a result vs Stoke on a windy cold night getting roughed up at every opportunity? Can he coach a team to play 3 games in 6days in cold conditions vs good solid defensive teams? Would be interesting, and not only all of that, can he do it all with the Chelsea squad he would have and the limited time of a small pre season due to Olympics and EUROs this summer? Would be interesting and im sure this will go on for many a month.

I really appreciate Schweinsteiger, but seriously, he basically missed 80% of 2012 yet and when he played so far, he was quite bad (which is only natural since he just came back from an injury). He only started to play well vs. Real so far. But yeah I guess if Bayern wins CL and Germany the EC it will come down to Schweinsteiger (or maybe Lahm).

Still think DiMatteo is the safe bet. He has shown, without buying players, that he could get the old guard back to their old form and playing well as a team. I think for me the jury is still out on pep's abilities as a manger, until we see what effect another manger has on barca we still don't know how much of the teams success is down to him and how much is down to the pure ability of the players. Also the English game is totally different style of play, can he adapt to it? Or will he try and get Chelsea playing like barca, will that work? Does he even know how to defend or how important a decent defense is in the EPL?

Well considering a large majority of the squad aside either coached by him in the B side or came to the fore under him, theres a fair bit of credit that he needs to get. The likes of Xavi had been playing at Barca for nearly 7-8 years. Under Rikjaard he was just another player. He became Xavi as we know today because of Pep. The same goese for most of the rest of the squad. He took a good team and made it brilliant. But yeah the argument is valid. Maybe he did feel like he was going to lose vital cogs in his team that werent going to be adequately replaced so it was a good time to bail out. But I'd like not to believe that.
I still think people overestimate how hard it is to drill in defensive discipline for world class coaches. Barca has had arguably one of the best offside traps in the world considering how they play (please no rubbish about the recent run of games again thats nitpicking) you can either argue that the defenders are really good at playing it or you can argue that its something thats been worked on very well (and by extension that the defenders arent really any good like some people claim). Ill say both (minus the bad defenders part) and that is probably imo the hardest aspect of defense to manage. Perhaps not so much when you play far as up the pitch as they do, but still harder than playing a style that relies on lying deeper in defense, anyone whose ever found themselves on a pitch will know that let alone watching it happen.
Wether that system applies everywhere I doubt. The AVB fiasco has proved as much, although honestly you cant change a team over night he didnt really get the time he needed if his plan was to change the way the club played. I dont think supporters or the players appreciated that anyway and for the most part thats been vindicated by the recent run of results. The jury is certainly out on whether Guardiola's abilities as a coach are flexible enough to work out systems that win everywhere.
As for Pep going to Chelsea. Lets be honest, Abrahamovic is an idiot. Hes a spoilt child who sees shiny new toys and he wants them, then realizes he got a Barbie when thinking it was Batman. Hes not a fan of great coaches. Hes a fan of winners, doesnt matter how they run their teams. If they win somewhere else Surely they can win here ! Sadly as of now the only person who can do that I'll bedgrudingly admit is Mou.
Seriously though, I am sad he is leaving. I liked the way he came across in the media and the passion he showed when he was on the touchline. He will probably take a break for a year before returning to coaching after the stress of the last few weeks.

he can make them play in the hot weather in south Spain, in Bernabeu against Madrid and win against plenty of defensive playing teams in the CL so I really don't see why he wouldn't be able to coach against Stoke.
Must admit that I had seen Peps resignment coming, but I had not in my wildest dreams imagined that they'd hire Tito for the job, going to be interesting.
And I also don't think anyone should count on Pep signing for another club, as he previously stated, that if he stops in Barca, it would be to take a break from football.

Mario Gomez hrhrhrhr ^^
maybe if france wins the EC (which i doubt) franck ribery is also a potential candidate.
There's only 1 manager on my mind for Chelsea...the great Mourine. Everyone loves him in England, unlike in Spain where they all hate him. We give him respect as being one of the top 3 managers of all time. He belongs back in Chelsea. He brought in Drog and Essien and Cech. He made the team what it is today, he is the one we need when we stand on the verge of buying a whole new roster of players. I'm certain he and his staff would be instrumental in getting Lukaku to shine as brightly as Drogba on the centre stage. He knows how to coach at the top level, he's won everything and he showed how much of a boss he is when you look at Inter pre and post Mourinho. The difference he had leaving Inter was the same different Peyton Manning had leaving the Colts, night and day.
Of course I will be happy if we keep Robbie because he is a boyhood hero of mine, but Mourine is my number 1 and the best in the world. He is, in my opinion, miles better than Pep. He is better tactically and he has more varied experience. Only thing Pep has on him is the actual playing experience but I don't think that matters when you are dealing with a genius who speaks 5 languages fluently and is a total boss like mourine. Plus we have a bunch of portuguese speakers in our team so jose will work well with them.
