First of all im sorry to the OP if im hijacking his thread .
I made a Redguard char. Its a male fighter with strength and intelegence as main attributes. My picks as main skills : block, long blade, heavy armor, restoration, conjuration and minor skills : armorer, speechcraft, merchantile, security, atleticism. Picked the lady sign which gives me a boost in endurance and personality. This is a OK char for a noob like me i guess?
So Im in Balmora now and did few quests for the Fighters guild about cave rats and need to find the puzzlebox next. I stole the sword of white woe with invisibility potion . Got some trouble with the heavy armor because it leaves me not much room for my inventory ussage.... now im off to the next 2 quests for the puzzle box and egg cave which I've done before.
So I got a few questions. Is it wise to join every guild in Balmora? Im a fighter so im in the fighters guild but I can join mage and thieves too or should i stick with one only. When i need to join the houses like hlaalu or some other one? My last question is about the graphic mod that improves the graphic quality. So my PC is kinda terrible and it barely runs the original Morrowind with no troubles so would i get some troubles if i install it?

Yes there is a easy way. Buy a invisibilty potion and steal it when the guard is not looking at you

if my memory serves me correctly, you can hide behind the cupboard and shield yourself from sight from the guards and still see/steal it.Only a slither of the sword will be visible; and it was quite pain staking on Xbox to get it. (because I suck with controllers)

I just jumped up while behind the pillar, opened inventory, and was able to click on the sword ^^

Anyway, would be awesome to do something like this in ustream, with the broadcaster talking and starting polls where the viewers can vote what to do. The broadcaster could be a narrator or the person himself, whatever he prefers. If this goes well, I plan on doing that, because it would be -much- easier and faster. But over a period of at least a month, of course, because of this game's longevity.

There are some guilds that conflict but you'll be told when they do, you basically get a "Do the quest for X or do the quest for Y" thing. I don't really want to spoil it in case you do go on and join X and Y, but if you want specifics just check the UESP wiki. As for houses you can only join one, for a fighter I would lean towards Hlaalu or Redoran.
Graphic mods is a bit of a vague term, depends on what graphic mods. But if you can barely run it as it is I wouldn't recommend any, maybe get Better bodies and Better heads for a visual improvement that doesn't slow the game down. I modded Morrowind quite heavily and I get 20 FPS in Balmora, despite being able to max any other game.

The way I always stole the sword of white woe was to steal something upstairs first, so that when he started walking back down I could take it without being seen.

God damn it; I can't find my morrowind CD for PC anywhere and as a result I'll be going to the shops as soon as they open to buy a new copy - thanks to this thread!
Not sure what type of character to make this time...I was a redguard last time and I remember having a full medium armour set that was red in design at some point...followed by that crazy shiny aesthetic set you get from killing a guard in some city...I forget.
Anyho...not to derail your thread slightly, but your opinions on a sneaking/thief character? Will also be doing thieves guild questline this time... I just love stealing EVERYTHING and selling it :D
/tangent
Will keep up to date with the thread, you have inspired me to play again good sir.

I can't even remember what expansion it was. I found the guard though; huge rush of nostalgia haha. I don't remember having much trouble killing the guy..."Gaenon" or someone to that effect in the same city was ridiculous.

Edit: Apparently it was the Tribunal expansion, as the link implies :3

flashback... Gaenor is his name, the little bastard. The High Ordinators would see him stabbing me, and would just sit there. Mind you, I was on the steps to the temple where Goddess Almalexia hung out.
off topic: anyone else LOVE the blue lights and LOVE the thunderstorms?

Also, just a status update here. I'm writing the journal entry right now, and it's gonna be more text-heavy than the other ones. I'm also not going to break it up into sections, rather, It's gonna be a continuous story. The pictures will be in a spoiler underneath the journal, though.

Time to make a new poll. Also, some images were left out of the Journal 3 gallery because of the TL image uploader's max 25 ups/hr. I'm also gonna get something to eat.
