"Out of synchronisation" events, dubbed "OOS" for short, are mismatches of data sent and received to the host. Whenever any one player receives the dreadful message "Game is out of synch", collective sobbing starts, and a time consuming rehost is intimated to all. Should a player continue to play, despite the initial "OOS" he or she will certainly crash and cause ungodly problems.
This is the EXACT problem i was having lol.
I don't exactly understand how to you prevent OOS though ._.
EDIT:
Prevention techniques, which sound kind of gimmick but eh whatevs.....
EU3:
Clear your map cache and restart your game twice before every session unless you've only played the vanilla game between sessions. Using the mod directory will still mess with your map cache and cause OOS's while trying to do multiplayer even if you have the correct checksum.
Do not load the saves until everyone is in the game lobby, and do not pick your nations until every has loaded the save 100%.
DO NOT TYPE IN THE CONNECTION BOX RIGHT AFTER LOADING THE GAME!
If anyone has a poor connection, don't go over speed 3, and slow down to speed 2 for a couple minutes if they start lagging. Speeds above 3 are only safe if everyone has a good and consistent connection.
When you do get an OOS, every player needs to clear their map cache and restart their game twice before rehosting.
The EU3 MP games I GM can go for entire the entire 4 hour session without an OOS or a rehost as long as no one's computer flips out (freezes, RAM overloads, etc.) I can't remember the time my games have had an OOS caused by anything other than using a save from the wrong game version (4.1 beta save on 4.1 final patch).
As for your Vicky 2 problems, stuff like that happens when you try to use Hamachi. Hamachi works, but it can be buggy as heck. You just need to open your firewall to allow other computers access to Vicky 2, and open your ports on your routers to allow other computers to send data to your computer.

starting next session in an hour

Heard someone say yesterday that you didnt actually need hamachi in order to play with each other, is this true? And if it is then we can just give ip to those who are going to join. (Obviously dont write it here on teamliquid, you don't want every random troll out there to know your ip)
I am a bit skeptical however, since the host would most likely need to do port forwarding etc.
|
hamachi really is not hard to use. you install it ,start it, join a network and you are done
and as you pointed out some people have no way to forward ports or even figure out their ip
|
This session was amazingly fun! Let's do it again next week, sooner if possible!

I wish I could jump on and play multiplayer eu3 with you guys but I live over in Australia so you're all playing at 3am-7am
Oh well, I'll just keep trying to conquer the entire world as the Papal states. The key is allying with Venice and Milan to go on a land grab from Naples. Then you're actually strong enough to do the annexing missions on Ferrara and Avignon.
Oh well, gl hf, may you get many 6/6/6 generals and 8/8/8 rulers and a level 6 Master of the Mint for good measure

I have a question.
I have recently become the HRE Emperor, and then suddenly got some provinces thrown at me. I was not even asked, but they are now part of my country, but not cores, and as such "Unlawful imperial countries. Is there any way to get rid of them? Because i don't think i can survive with that much infamy and -prestige thrown at me for 50 years. I have tried, but i can't find it. So if someone knows a way, please describe it in such a way that i can find how to do it.
If it is important, i have the complete chronicles game.

Create vassals.
Edit: Or sell it
|
And how do i do that? There are no provincial decision for them.
Nvm, found it. Thanks.

How is the multiplayer mode btw? Is it any laggy or something? I'm about to start the game for the first time and playing with other people is probably way more interesting than playing against the AI.

I'd say multiplayer mode is fine. It depends a bit on where the host is located but aside from that it is fun.
Last weekend we did some multiplayer games here

Also, is it normal that the update website is unavailable after you download patch 5.1?

I do really suck a lot at writing reports and english is not my first language so I am not confident in writing something that is supposed to tell a story.
If we start a new game because a lot of new players joined our group I will give it a try but better dont expect anything fancy

where do you live? I dont think that EU3 needs a strong internet connection, so if you found your way into the game feel free to join us. And ask here as many questions as you want we'll try to help you out.

In a small village Yeah, we will see. Just started my first game as Brandenburg. 60-70 years have passed and I'm at least still living. Also got a province from the HRE but other than that, it doesn't look like I will get anything else. Everyone has a trillion alliances and guaranteed freedom. England, Poland, Austria, Bavaria etc etc, pretty much everyone, wants to be my ally, for whatever reason. But I don't really want to get dragged into a war. Also, I'm quite good with prestige, always between 40 and 50. The problem is that I have...like no idea how to govern properly. And for whatever reason, my army can never be at 11k when my support is the lowest. It's always stuck at 10k(so every regiment has like 950 men). And when I lose soldiers, it takes forever to replenish them, even with full support.

at low maintenance, replenish rate is decreased. at the lowest maintenance, there's no replenishment at all. this applies for both land and naval troops. if you're at peace, you don't really need them to be at high maintenance anyway.
as for the multiplayer, sucks that the AI ruined holland... i had a decent start with all the cores gained and hainaut about to die, but then the AI just let burgundy take them, did nothing with research and banked 1k gold with no province upgrades. took me 3/4 of the time on sunday when we played just to get the upgrades built and fix all the destroyed relations with burgundy, and since AI decided to stay gov/trade research that i had set in the beginning, i was left with 7/7 gov/trade in the beginning, and 5 everything else. that delayed my colonization range by quite a bit (and no painting spam = no colonial range advisor). let portugal beat me to the azores by about 2 months, which sucked. had to settle for madeira and hopefully get south america before portugal AI decides to check it out, and maybe work around africa and to east asia.
lookin forward to next week, it was really fun. unfortunately i'd have to leave a lot in the middle of games, since they're taking place 2-6pm my time, and weekends are typically spent going out with the gf..

The best year to start playing in is 1409. Byzantium is stronger than usual, Naples too, making them more interesting competitors.
1420 or was it 1422 if you're playing England, so you get some more provinces in France, plus a nifty Claim on Throne CB on France.
I tried another game as Naples but they're just so damn boring. They have nothing that stands out really, they're just meh. I hate Naples.
