This is the only way? I wanted to stay at peace but... Y'gotta do what y'gotta do.

So I have a question.. When you patch it up to the beta patches, do you keep your save files? Or rather - can you still continue playing them? I've got saves with Germany, Scandinavia, Spain, GB etc.. Would be sad to see it all disappear

The official Paradox stance on that is "maybe."
I would make backups.

Haha oh my.. Every time I've asked a question in this thread (quite a few times ^^) I've gotten instant replies :D Guess I'll just stash 'em somewhere and reinstall if it fails.. Thanks ♥

What has been discovered by survey upon study upon investigation is that poor kings live longer, whether or not their 1000 level-1 tech infantry are cornered by a French Cavalry doomstack on Corfu, or sunk somewhere off the Icelandic coast. Whether the king's only skill is in swimming, or your nation pities him so much they have to pay his ransom or feel sorry for him is unimportant - they're just invincible.
There really are almost no ways to 'remove' unwanted rulers. Bar cheating, you'll probably be stuck with him for eternity. There is but one fate worse- the dreaded 'regency council'. Much to the intense dismay of players across the globe, this band of idiots can not be assigned to the intrepid exploration fleet with only enough supplies for the one-way trip, nor put as the sole combatants in your Thermoplyae-scenario versus the entire Ottoman Empire. Whatever comes of your (undoubtably failed) efforts to eradicate all vestiges of life from your bumbling monarch, as long as every single heir he has is not mysteriously killed while hunting you should be able to avoid the terror of being unable to declare the war that you wish for your council to be slain in.
I'm sorry to say, you'll be stuck with your king for eternity - yes, it has happened. These same poor souls have since migrated from the poisoned watering-hole that is EU3 dynastic succession to the dry lake of HoI, where their needs are even more direly ignored. I pray that this happens not to you, and that by some stroke of luck your king passes on with all possible speed. May the cry soon be heard throughout your nation: "The king is dead! Long live the king!"

Can't wait for Whole World Mod for Divine Wind... seems awesome, more fighting and more religions, Magna Mundi just seems to make it even more about the Europeans and make it impossible to take over the world...
I don't know, I just don't like the idea of having my own "Sims Provinces!" where you just have each to his own, I'd rather have more fighting and have it balanced through that.

Anyone tried to play as England, conquering Scotland and creating Great Britain ?
Every time I attack Scotland, they somehow gets more troops than me, even tho I started with more ! Seems like 12 troops just spawn out of nowhere!

this is how the AI always acts when you declare war on them. They will get huge amounts of soldiers even though they cant support them for a long time because the AI hope that it can overwhelm you fast.
But even when you have smaller numbers the size of britain allows you to wage war in a more defence oriented way meaning that if you have as many soldiers your army cap allows without having to pay extra you will allways beat scotland because the AI will start splitting up its armies because it tries to get as many provinces as it can before running out of money, which it does pretty fast.
When the AI start splitting up the army you basically allready won because now you jsut got to kill of the smaller forces with your main army and then you can easily sweep through Scotland.
But I also suspect that you did not get as many soldiers as you can actually support because based on pure numbers England starts with way more provinces allowing you to build up a larger army even before you start a fight so you actually should be able to just run them over before they are even able to recruit their big army.

Just having a game with the Knights. Gosh the start was a nightmare, but now I'm controlling all of south america, the pope and some minor mediterranean islands (found out that moving your capital to a new continent will make your "colonies" into proper provinces" yay). And now it seems my savegame is broken ((((((

Now I just have to figure out how to Annex them diplomatic!

when you got the mvassalized you allready did the hardest step.
Now you need 190 diplomatic relations and a state marriage and I beliefe you need to wait around 10 years. After that you can annex them without problems even if the game tells you that it is "impossible"

You need to control A (1) east asian harbour. At least it's that way for me. I don't know that actual trigger for the event becoming available- I assume it's bound to a certain time and maybe slider positions.
edit: to clarify: I have founded the east asian trade company both as Spain and Saxony (weeee) by just colonizing some random island there. Doesn't even need to become a core. In my Inca game the event didn't turn up even tough I'm the most advanced in (western) technology and trade. (Inca trade slider is on mercantilism though).

well I control Kalkutta the maledives and Sri Lanka and I was not able to start the event even though I have the fleet tech needed :/
guess I will go and conquer something in indonesia then and see if it starts then
|
A mistake I made too. The companys name is "East India" but the condition is "East Asian Harbour" East asian does not mean east of India- it's actually further to the east. (I took Taiwan).

still noone here who can tell me how to get Magna Mundi mod running?

Wait till you get the Normandy mission. France is pain in the ass to deal with when fighting on her continent. She always finds a way to get everyone to gang up on me, lol.
It took me god knows how many tries before I got a situation that was favorable (I managed to get an alliance with Castille and Aragon, while France managed to get into a war with Britanny and Burgandy).

I recommend buying the west/east sprite packs, it really adds quite a bit to the game, having each nation with different soldiers. Particularly the French troops look awesome. And I love the bear cloaks on the ruskie forces :D
I hate playing against France, but playing as them is so fun because you're so damn hardcore. Goddamn them all. I guess I'm just tsundere for France.
I-It's not like I like you or anything, Frenchy-kun!

So I have a noob question. How do I load a saved game? I bought the complete pack on Steam but dont see a way to load saved games.
