I've tried to install League of Legends (another that uses this) like 8 times in the past week alone and it's always been the same result.
I honestly have no idea what's wrong with just letting people download it normally instead of through some stupid "media booster" that does seemingly nothing other than ensure some people can't play it.
You might try a site like this one, the direct download or torrent might be what you're looking for.
yeah pando doesn't work for me either but I just downloaded the client. Also the game is poorly optimized/coded. But still fun to play. If they manage to fix the random lag and fps issues, the game would be amazingggg

My friend and I tried to play (we both have macbook pros w/ bootcamp) and it lags and has deadly freezes. Computers much worse can run it so i have no idea why. Really annoys me that G1 screwed up the game so much.
Macbook pros really aren't that powerful x_x
APB Bible, a useful thread on the official forums that has some rather useful progression info!
This game is amazing. The most fun you'll have with friends. AND it's free. Really no comparison. Skype your homies and its time to bang the streets of San Paro

Please include your faction in your posts. :D
Assuming you have an nVidia card (but I'd assume the same is possible with a Radeon), you can go into your graphics settings and manually select which options are on or off within the game. Make sure you've checked the advanced tab ingame as well, antialiasing will drop frames drastically, so I'd check that first.
Also, to all of those saying Teamspeak is required, just turn on the built in VoIP, and use Z (default) to voice chat. Works pretty well in my experience.
Sorry, trainRiderJ enforcer on useast. Also, my graphics problem went away after rebooting my computer. I was only able to play for about 45 minutes but the game seems like it could be fun.
APB reloaded is revamped and made by a different company entirely.
Its in essence alot more noob friendly with a lower TTK(you die and kill faster), the HUD is vastly improved, the lighting system has been revamped so evening/daytime feels more "real", the performance has decreased across low/mid PCs as a result and the story/direction of the game is more clear and understandable.
Oh yeah its also F2P. The original was box purchase + hybrid sub fee.
Some players love it because they finally feel like they can compete, others hate it because they feel like the skill and the performance has dropped too much to really be able to enjoy it.
TTK is substantially more noob friendly, and the matchmaking is much more lenient now, which means rather than 1 in like 6 boring missions you actually get APBs almost all the time, which makes for much more exciting time in-game.
It is still probably the most rage-inducing game I've ever seen though, and there are a fair number of hackers etc. but 9/10 someone is just really good and they get called a hacker.
The third-person is still a really low angle, and can make firing when right next to a ledge or corner etc. a little goofy for the first hour or so, but you get used to it.
Weapon balance is really pretty good, the slotted weapons are better, but no longer game-changing (and at least in the beta game-breaking.) There are 'pay-to-win' guns, but they are all 1-slot weapons (so far) and you can get better or the same on your own by grinding out some contacts etc. (In-game reputation for doing missions etc.) The only exceptions being the whisper and the scout, the whisper having a functional silencer which hides you on the radar, and people won't know where you are until you've hit them and they get the indicator. The scout is pretty insane, it lets you sprint with the HVR, and shoot it out of car windows (this will make sense if you play - normal HVRs cannot do these things.)
Overall - not only is it free to play, but the premium stuff is really not game-breaking, it just limits your customization, and I'm enjoying the game 4-5x as much as I did back when the original APB launched. All of this being before some pretty exciting announcements for the development pipeline at E3.
Just go into it knowing that it is free, all you are losing is time. You will lose. You will be pushed around by jerks in dump trucks. You will rage, hard. But at the end of the day, at least for me so far the past couple weeks, you'll come back, because its just damn fun.
And yeah, something has to be said about the customization.
Probably the best and most detailed level of customization in any video game, its probably the best feature of apb.
You can easily make batman, mario, barack obama, whoever you want or just a standard criminal/cop look-a-like. And add to that cars that are as customizable as character with logos, colors and additional features like different sirens, wheels and parts.
Dont forget tunes, you can make a mario tune to play while driving you car or just walking around

Niche games always get low reviews. Planetside was pretty unsuccessful but I consider it one of the best games I've ever played and a substantial influence to developers looking to create MMOFPS games.
been playing it for a few hours, impossible to hit anything, all missions so much in favor of the other team, spawning 800m away from target only to make it half way there before mission failed

Genzo, I think you've been hitting massive lag spikes while in firefights, along with getting unlucky with ur missions. Usually, the objectives are only like 100-300m away, which is a reasonable distance. If you have a huge group, that might be the case, since you always get put into the large missions, where there has to be a large objective.
Yes, I was inspired after seeing someone else make one that was far worse quality.
Closest thing to a Trex in the decals was a Chimera... lulz. I am considering premium just because I love the designer so much (and need the extra decal slots!).

This... looks pretty fun.
It amuses me that in the first video, pedestrians walk right by the guy, like nothing's wrong. He's holding an automatic weapon, in broad daylight, on the sidewalk.
Second video really makes me want to try it. I like how it LOOKS like a cops & robbers action flick. Very cool. Hopefully I don't encounter too much of the hardware/software issues so many others have.
just started this a few days ago.. on Joker (US E) server IGN: Fushida Faction: crim
pretty fun to play provided there are semi-competent team mates... most nubbies i've played with just charge into defended positions and die repeatedly.
