Hi guys, i've tried this new f2p mmorpg, and I really loved it. Its in Open beta season, so you should try it now.

A Dungeon quest:
Has a lot of classes and skills, places to level up (by quests), nice craft and enchant system, and also it seems like Ragnarok wich is a plus for me .
i just registered an account yesterday, graphics looks pretty cute though..
i'm creating a blade dancer, so i'll go along the way of Warrior -> Thief -> Bard -> Blade Dancer, and got myself the "Adventure" hero trait..
just a question since you are a bard, is bard tough to train? i chose "adventure" as my trait, so i'm afraid training might be tough, since bards are considered supportive and "spellcaster"
I tried it out the other day, it was def better than most free MMO's I've played over the last couple years. Your character moves pretty smooth and yes, it's def like Ragnarok + WoW or something.
I'm only level 10, if it got popular on the forums I'd reroll to whatever server.
Not at all. Independient of your HT (Heroic Trait), bards are easy to train. Indeed, all classes are easy to train. Just pick a good party, and everything will be ok. Every class has a role in a party, and independient of your HT, you can do that role.
On June 22 2011 18:12 TyrantPotato wrote: eh can change to any class? sooooo um?
are atributes perminent or can you change them to at will?
you can change them at will. But master a class takes a lot of time, also some classes use equipment that other dont (ex. Knight use "heavy" equipment, while Bard use "Light" equipment), even if both classes are in the same "line": http://wiki.aeriagames.com/edeneternal/index.php?title=Classes Cleric use "cloth" equipment, while Bard use light equipment. Equipment gives you attributes, so you can change your Bard equipment for Knight equipment and then change your class to Knight.
Every 20 secs you can change your class, so you can use Cleric buffs, and then change to Bard. But on high levels, you have to have a main class, because your skills, your equipment, etc.
So what's the endgame here? Typically it feels like F2P MMO's can be fun to level on for a while, even a month or two if you're playing casually - then there's just nothing more to do.
Of those games, I've only ever played WoW, and raiding/progression kept me coming back, at least for about 2 years. Competitive PvP was another possibility, if that was your cup of tea.
Ragnarok + WoW sounds amazing (even though I still play Ragnarok). We should get a guild going and a set server for everyone to play on. For now it looks like people are on Aquamarine judging by the post above me?
I've tried this out a bit... not bad. Better than their previous (and quite similar) MMO, Grand Fantasia.
In this, I couldn't bring myself to make a male character, though. It's veeery cutesy. =P
The class system is interesting. It more or less lets you try out all the early classes with no penalty, and then you eventually narrow it down a bit as you get higher in level.

There are a bunch of people who have hit the level cap already and it's only been in open beta since last Wednesday. The grind is very easy, lots of quests to do and you can right click them and it will take you exactly to the mob/npc/location you need to go to. There's a lot of 3-man and 5-man dungeons to do as well, and since the game is new there's a lot of people always looking for groups.
I'm not sure on the endgame since I'm only level 30 but since it's a beta and not all the level 3 jobs are available due to the level 50 cap I can assume that they'll raise the cap and add more areas and dungeons as time goes on, there are skills/items/areas for 50+ that just aren't accessible at the moment. I also heard they're going to eventually add 8-man raiding in or something like that.
I played this in the closed beta and loved it! I will probably come back for the open as well . The gameplay reminds me of Final Fantasy in that you can change your class (job) at the drop of a hat but still have to level them separate to your character.
You get separate slots for cloth/leather/heavy armor, but unfortunately not entire equipment sets so if you want to level yourself as a warrior and a cleric you'll have to clutter your bags a bit with extra gear. Not too much thankfully. I personally chose to level related classes so I really only had to worry about switching weapons and keeping a few pieces of healing gear for dungeon runs with a friend of mine.
Crafting isn't a huge time sink like most other MMORPGs I've played so thats a big bonus for me. You don't gather the resources yourself in the open world, but rather pay artisans to do the dirty work for you while you continue to quest/grind/dungeon crawl at your leisure. A window pops up notifying you when the work is done easy peasy.
I wound up rolling on Emerald, but it looks like I might be alone on that boat
Overall, this is one of the best "F2P" MMORPGs I've tried, and it's definately worth a shot if you're looking for something new to kill time with.

tbh I find it easier to just equip my 1h sword and dagger and just melee crap when I'm trying to level my Bard/Cleric lol (my main is Thief), so I don't end up cluttering my bag too much with guitars and maces
Also if nobody mentioned it, the game has achievements for the completionists out there. I don't think they actually do anything but they're cool to get that popup when you get one every so often.
I don't recommend anyone playing any games distributed by Aeria Games, I used to play Megaten Online and I can say that it was the worst customer service I've ever seen.
So something I just kind of need to know... In order to be an Engineer, you need to have 35 levels in Hunter. Does this imply that Engineers are better than hunters, or is it just different?
Similarly, it seems weird that Thieves have no particularly good class to end up at given that Blade Dancers stem from Bards (for some reason). Is it feasible to be a max level thief, or do the level 3 classes just absolutely stomp you out is I guess what I'm getting at.
Also, how does the classing go, if I have levels in thief and levels in something else, do you get any benefits for having them or do you lose all benefits of being a thief when you switch to something else?
Don't forget if you find a buddy you can be a "couple" with them no matter the gender. It gives you +10% exp just for being around each other! so buddy up!
My gf picked this up. As far as I can tell, the upper tier classes are more different and not so much flatly superior than the lower tier ones. She's equal levels mage and illusionist (stems from mage), but will still favor mage over illusionist for just doing damage, so I can only assume it's not inferior. The classes in the same category share some kind of primary skills (so when you just start out with an engineer you can rely on the basic damaging skills you leveled up while you were a hunter.) But when you switch class categories entirely, I don't think there's any benefit (but could be completely wrong.)
I can't get over the damn style of these games. I don't think I'd like the game for other reasons anyway though, thankfully. doesn't look particularly innovative, non-repetitive, or like it would have good pvp.

Engineers and Hunters share a few of the same skills, so whatever you upgraded as a Hunter will carry over. Engineers get new skills based on guns, Hunters use bows and their tiger pet. Their passives are different and they have separate talent trees, these don't carry over.
When you hit 10/20/30/etc as a class you get a certificate, which you can access as any class and as you level up your character level you get more certificate slots, you can mix and match them to get little added bonuses that other classes might give, like Thief's level 10 certificate gives +4% EVA, Hunter's gives +10% Crit Dmg, etc. If you use multiple certificates from the same class then you get special combo bonuses.
Regarding Thieves, all the classes aren't out yet, I think there's something for Martial Artist to turn into eventually but with the current level cap not all the classes are available right now. Melee dps kind of gets screwed over in this game. :/
aight so i played a good 3 1/2 hours and the leveling is pretty smooth. maybe too easy, but w/e. i like the class system quite a bit though. being able to heal/dps for low level dungeons is really helpful. and as the game goes on the classes will differentiate more (hopefully).
i still have no idea what the endgame is but i'm enjoying the game so far. hopefully it doesn't bore me out
Game is pretty sweet. I like how you can see the loot table of every creature by clicking the ? by the target nameplate. I always like how you can click the map and you run to that location on the map or how you can click a quest step and you automatically just run to the locations. Leveling seems pretty basic and easy, I'll be interested in the end game, but I'm just enjoying leveling atm.
Really enjoying this game, dont make this mistake of thinking maxing everything out will make it look better, because ticking the 'blur' box makes the game look horrible lol
Does it make sense to spend your points right away or is it better to save them for when you unlock a class you're waiting for? Will I get those 8 knowledge points again when I turn into a thief later on?

I really don't even
Nah, spend away, you get so many of each point you can level like 3 classes at once

Classes level separately so you'll start at level 1 when you unlock a new class and gain points as you level it up. So no worries about saving points, you can't use them on newly unlocked classes. The only thing that limits how many classes you can level at once is your gold since you need that to train your general skills.

I made that same mistake! xD Has anyone set up a TL guild on aquamarine yet? If not I'll set one up once I get far enough in the game.
For anyone that doesn't have experience with Aeriagames, they have the worst business model of any FTP company I've played with. They will do anything for money, including withholding the best items that should be gotten in game, and then raffling them off. It's happened to every game I've played.
At the start they'll seem "ok", but give them a couple months to get the raffles going. Oh god, the raffles. >.>

Thanks for this, I hate MMORPGs, or any game for that matter, where you gain an unfair advantage if you're willing to pay real life cash for stuff.

Gotta love when games forget about left-handed people. I just can't respect any game that does this.
Well, so much for this game. Back to playing good games that support the feature like 99% of the games do and don't spit on lefties.
Really? Inverting through your driver doesn't work? Shit that sucks.
Me and some friends have been playing all day, on Garnet, Channel 4, going to set up a TL guild if i cant find one, but it costs 50 gold so its gonna take a little time. Feel free to pm me in-game @ Deanyo
There are probably < 30 level 50s on Emerald right now, as for end game, raids come at level 60, and not level 50. I've been 50 a couple days, and I've been farming the 45-48 dungeons for gear, trophies and class exp. There are world bosses up to lv 48 (I think), and I think they are quite difficult, but you can be prone to griefing, I've personally only done up to the lv 33 boss.
They need to change PvP damage mechanics, since I can kill a healer on my MA without them being to do anything. I do like that you can see any stun/snare/etc DRs as a debuff though.
Got to level 10/10 so far, definitely an enjoyable MMO :D
The graphics are "cute" but quite good. The combat is point-click but that's most games these days (and i'm only level 10 so maybe later on it gets better)
Feel free to hit me up in game, I saw someone named "RET" earlier talking in World saying stuff about SC2 but I couldn't respond because it kept saying i needed to Call World first? Or something like that, couldn't figure it out. Wonder if it's really ret

That guy deserves a medal.
So I finally got around to starting the game. Initial thoughts are: The Good: The controls are good and fluid. The graphics are nice, like not a dodgy cartoony style, but a lot of work actually went into it. It seems like there is quite a huge population, which one of the things that kills MMO's is the lack of people, that's something this game doesn't suffer from. I actually quite like the music, its not annoying, but something you can listen to in the background. The effects are alright, there nothing to rave about, but there not terrible.
The Bad Jumping is so pointless... Why did they add it in, if it doesn't serve any purpose. From what I can tell, there isn't much customization with regards to the armour, however I am not sure about weapons, but at least for the first armour set I tried on, it didn't change my appearance at all.
Overall: I like the game, but I don't see it as something I will play for a long time. But who knows.
Appearance customization is done by costumes, which you buy from the cash shop. You also unlock different colors for your class usually every 10 class levels.
I played this all day today and got to 30/28 as a hunter. I'll probably play until I run out of quests and start having to just grind. I've never played WoW but there are a lot of things that are reminiscent of/taken from RO, which is good because RO is the only MMO I've found that I still like even though I'm not currently playing it.
The combat is just spamming all your skills as the cooldowns finish and chugging mp potions. Sometimes you run into a bigger enemy and have to chug hp potions too. Hopefully it will get better as the game progresses, or maybe I just need to play around with the other classes.
Also I really don't like the way the content is organized. Like "this zone for levels 1-5, this zone for levels 5-10" ect and then each zone is further subdivided into areas with 1 or 2 monsters of the same level range that never wander outside of their area.
In RO every area had content for a variety of level ranges, so areas didn't just become obsolete as you progressed. This also meant there was much more variety because there were always so many different places you could train all over the game world.
Even within maps there was more variety and excitement. Seeing a hunter fly or mimic in the corner of your eye and mashing your fly wing hotkey or killing porings and getting 1 shotted by a ghostring that sneaks up on you cloaked or having an mvp tp on top of you just make this game feel soulless in comparison. Kill mushrooms in this field then walk over to the next field and kill yaks and you can even right click to auto walk to the yaks.
I should just go play RO but I don't wanna get sucked in to it again
On June 23 2011 17:23 musai wrote: Appearance customization is done by costumes, which you buy from the cash shop. You also unlock different colors for your class usually every 10 class levels.
And isn't jumping useless in most games? =p
That's just gay, something I really enjoy in MMO's is jumping, like in WoW, jumping is actually useful.
With regards to the customization, if you have to buy items from the cash shop to change how you look, then I really don't want to put time and effort into this game.
We should really stop using the term "free 2 play" for games that cost money in a different way. If prefer paying 13 bucks (or 15 or whatever) a month instead of having a game that is free to log in to, but charges for a lot of ingame benefits. A game is not "free" if it has a different business model than WoW.
Any game that has no subscription will have a micro transaction system, you aren't forced to pay for these in game benefits, I personally have not spent a dime on AP, I can buy what I need with my gold for AP.
Giving this a try. If anyone on TL wants to say hi or party I'm Philosovich on Emerald. BTW RO is free to play these days for anyone whos nostalgic. Went back a few days ago and played around on my old characters from Sakray
The game is basically free to play, the cash shop equipment sucks right now after level 30.
The stuff in the cash shop that most people buy are convenience or luxury items (exp/cp boosts, bigger backpacks, fashion). Maybe the safety stones too but I don't think the game has developed enough where everyone starts having +8 or higher on all their gear yet. If that's not your thing then don't play, I think it's fine since the cash shop gear right now is not exponentially better than in-game gear so far.
i think 2 friends and i will give this a try on the weekend i've never played an MMO and i'm not looking to get wrapped up in one but this could potentially be fun for a little

I do every quest once. It's really only if you want to grind it out.

I dont mind starting a guild on Aqua if people want to get into it, lvl 46 right now and we will need a town, also after level 35 the guild quests give you another thing to do for exp and helps everyone in the guild. You need guild towns to gain access to crafting lvl 40+ items.
In game name is Talia, PM me if there is interest and we can get a guild going.
I am a level 6 warrior on Aquamarine. Id probably join a TL guild if one gets started. Name is Caveat. Edit so I dont look like a noob: I only played it for a bit before I went out tonight so Ill get up to a higher level soon enough

do it, nao, then we can get us all in on this town and start takin over the server!
Damnit, and I spent so much time on my char on Garnet... Ah well, guess I can spend 12+ hours to get back to where I am if it's with a bunch of TLers.
Although, from what I'm reading on their forums, we picked the wrong server. Emerald and Garnet have a MUCH friendlier player base from what I've been reading, while Aqua is the official "Barrens Chat" server.
If I can get some opinions from the community this game feels like it allows you to really play around with the classes. Because of the fact that your job exp is raised higher then standard level when fighting mobs I feel like all you would need to play all of the classes is:
- Time - In game Money for equipment
Does anyone think the game is like this I am not sure because I havent played enough, but if this is true I really want to play around with a few classes on my character ^^

Feel free to play around with a few classes but class xp starts getting slower than character xp at around 24. It's fairly easy to level up other classes to a usable level at any time though and it helps fitting a role in a party for dungeons. Basically if you have the time to level the other classes you can play them pretty well but I wouldn't worry too much about getting amazing gear for different classes until 50. I'd advise against spending gold on most base skills for other classes though as they get quite expensive.
Do not level any skill to 50 unless it's absolutely necessary (my thief/MA has sonic cut and the damage output cooldown maxed, my warrior/knight has declaration of anger maxed). It takes 170 gold to level a skill from 1-50.
It actually does not take much time to level a class to 40 (they get another skill at 50, but most of them are poop).
There are 3 sets of equips (cloth/light/heavy), and it is not difficult to get 45+ blues for all 3 sets. Oranges are insanely expensive at the moment, on Emerald there is only 1 guild with a lv 5 light armor vendor, and I don't think some of the materials are obtainable at the moment. The most important piece of gear is your weapon anyways, and 45+ weapons are very easy to get, pretty much every boss will drop at least 1 blue weapon.
PvPing is just ridiculous, I looked on the Taiwan wiki to see if there are PvP damage/heal reductions, but I did not find any. A illusionist can CC you for 10 seconds and apply a dot which does not break CC, then nuke you as you are about to come out of the CC. A martial artist can kill a healer with a charge stun followed up by a no heal spell.
I personally don't like this, not because of the game, but because of the developer.
The first X-Legends game I played was Grand Fantasia and while it was fun, it had zero endgame. The developers pretty much slowed down any updates and focused marketing their new MMO, Kitsu Saga. It was pretty much the same thing was Grand Fantasia with a few addons.
Again, that didnt have an endgame content.
Then comes Eden Eternal.
It feels like the developers are just pushing people to continue to play their "new games", where as, to old players who've dealt with them, it just seems like an expansion pack for Grand Fantasia, except everyone starts over.
...And you have to pay for all your cash shop items again.
It's not hard to get to 50. I've been playing since OB started and got 50 a few days ago. If anyone needs help just /t me at the same name here. I'm already in a preplanned guild so I can't join the TL one though -_-

Mmm, I'll try this out. I am looking for a good game to play to take my mind off of my loosing streaks as of late. If I like a class well then I'll be more then willing to keep playing.
Got to level 40, then realized that killing an enemy at level 1 was the exact same as killing an enemy at level 40. Not a fun game once you realize you're just spending days farming, bleh.

Doesn't look like there will be any damage/healing reductions in upcoming PvP BGs/Arenas/Wars. Was really hoping there would be some re-balancing because this is what current duels look like:
MAs will kill any healer in a stun, Illusionists can CC you and dot you which doesn't break the CC.
At around 37 you need to grind GQ's till 39 but thats actually not as bad as it seems o.o. So far people from my guild Alpacalypse who are higher end (48-50) have plenty to do so I'm pretty excited ^^

Anyone can invite, but we are almost at the 50/50 limit and since everyone is so new we dont have real guild fame farming yet... most of the guild is lower lvl 30s and most people are fairly new, but once we hit 2k fame i believe we can invite more people.. going to bed, we have 4 spots lefts so find someone online and get in.. and help us get fame ^^
I'd give it a try, but item shop = pay to win game = not worth the time to play, period. Even if the items are not the best now, they will add those later, it's certain and I've seen it happen many times in similar games.

I would like to echo this, and ask if the game's cash shop items are purely cosmetic and miscellaneous items or if the cash items are really just "pay to win game" kind of thing. Downloading the game right now, and am definitely interested to try it, but if the cash shop breaks the game, not sure how long it'll keep my interest.

I know they took a break for a few days just logging on to do some bs. Then they got back on and started leveling other classes and I know they were grinding the high level Dungeons a lot and dueling a lot. They were having fun on RC o.o. They are mainly waiting for next week when supposedly new content is coming out. The new content is suppose to be mainly so that say at level 37 you don't have to grind GQs.

Cosmetic and stuff like exp/cp boosts, repair hammers, etc. There's some equipment but it's not that good and there's not even any cash shop gear for over level 30 right now, and level 30 only takes a few days to reach if you play a lot, so it's not worth it at all. In-game gear is better, cheaper, and easier to get. There's not much of a grind and no pvp so having cash shop gear wouldn't break the game anyways.
Honestly you'll probably hit the level cap within a couple weeks if you play at all with any consistency, and then you can stop and move on to another game, don't have to invest cash into this. I can see myself getting burnt out on this game fairly soon when there's no more quests to do and I'm level 50.

what do your guildies do at 50, because I was completely burned out after a week
TBH, I like that you have to grind GQs. Gives some forced/needed guild leveling.

I'm not sure how I feel about the GQs. I agree that massing the quests is a good thing as it kind of adds that feeling like its your home you worked for, but I wish they also had a tax system on xp so you could have a little more variety in the path you take while still helping the guild.
Aren't they just going to reset the levels once open beta ends? Feels like a waste of time if you spend time developing your character and then it just gets deleted.

This is full release, the game sages on my server confirmed that. They said open beta only lasted like 48 hours and then it immediately transitioned into full release, even though the website hasn't been updated to say that.

You get them from opening the yellow circles in your inventory when you get to a certain level. Usually gives you a few. Otherwise you have to buy em. Some guild banks have like 200+ o.o

So while I'm leveling, can anybody tell me: 1. What's the endgame currently composed of. 2. Item drop rate from end game bosses (guaranteed drop? how many?). 3. Any goodies for reaching max level?

1. leveling your all your jobs to 50, grinding dungeons for BP boss drops, farming gold so you can get the 48 orange set, and 50 weapons, guild bosses
2. trophies are probably 5-10% drop, BP drops are probably around that as well
played this game till lvl 34 and it was pretty easy to get to lvl 34.. but now quests only give like 5%, and it just feels too much of a grind.. also, I don't like how each "class" have such little skills compared to other mmo's
with that being said, the graphics are extremely nice for being a free game, and there are a lot of ppl on all the time which is nice.
Oh god, i feel so sad that engineer has the worst flaw ever. Every time he shoots, a damn blinding animation appears. Made my eyes pain and giving me so much headache T_T.

btw guys i don't get this class thingy. like a knight seems pretty good with fast attacks. but can i be a knight at endgame and compete with other classes that requires lvl 60?
yeah the classsystem is very confusing, but i really like the game. Im not a big fan of animecharacters whatsoever, but its addicting. Its a pity that you cant change your heroic trait though.

1) Friend Talia and ask me for an invite in-game, or ask any member, anyone can invite 2) we're capped right now and need to farm a bit more fame to open up more spots!

Do book quest (buy it at Grocery NPC), and once you reach level 38, a mainquest will appear.
All you need to do is travel to Aven, and then south of where the Guild Masters are, theres a person who would sell guild quests for a reasonable amount of money. These guild quests are basically killing mobs near the starting area, and you can repeat them as often as you want, so you can just buy 10, form up a party of 5, and then just grind them. They give good exp, are real fast, earn you good money, and helps the guild.
I recommend this in Valley of Kings and up. At that level, you will need to do non-storyline quests to level up anyways, might as well help the guild instead of doing repeatables. However, some repeatables overlap with the guild quests, so make sure to pick those up whenever possible!

You can PvP at any level and I say illusionist because its OP and also to the person who asked about Knight yes they are VERY good late game right now. Pretty sure only thing that counter illusionist. If a knight its opponent its pretty much over if they don't keep moving
So what is end-game content like on this game? Do they have a lot of cool instances or good PvP? Also, if I do play, what is the most needed/least used class? (I would imagine healer/tank) I want to be as useful as possible.
There really isn't an endgame because it's still tagged as open beta, but someone said they are in full release so I don't really know, because the level cap is still 50 despite having classes requiring lvl 50+ to play.
The endgame consists of grinding dungeons for gear and class exp. That's about all.
Its called open beta because they are still adding content. But it was in full release and your characters will not be deleted ever. Endgame right now isn't amazing but once Guild vs Guilds come out that is when I'm sure things will get interesting
Well I'll hold off for now then. I cannot really trust F2P companies, but this games looked convincing enough for me to ask about it. I'll check back on this thread in the distant future.
guys, you really have to try it. This game will not sell permanent buffs or sockets as other f2p mmorpg did. It still in beta, many new areas, items, stuffs are coming, and you should get involved now.

I'd love to but I'm stuck at the Hero Trait selection screen lol. I wanna be a knight and I can't choose between Maverick and Commando.
This is a strange question, but is there a way to hide the interface like you can in WoW or Starcraft? I would really like to take a screen cap and use it as my desktop, because the graphics are just that pretty!
Well, I just joined the guild, time to start the fame grind all over again lol Had about 350ish in the guild I just left, too bad it doesn't transfer
I'll be on Visions, lvl 40+ martial artist pretty much all the time so if anyone needs a run through a dungeon or whatever just yell at me. Also have thief/hunter/engi all lvl 35ish, might work on magic/heals someday.
At the moment I am in serious need of a pair of Cestus! The AH has a bunch of random magic/heal enchanted ones for cheap but the stats make them not worth it. The good ones are all 200g+ and there just aren't any on the weapon vendor (Wtf is that about) So, if you happen to find one let me know
On June 28 2011 18:18 OoFuzer wrote: For a Tank knight, choose Commando (high str increase block rate)
How about a DPS knight? Still Commando for Str = P.Atk? or Maverick for Atk speed(I dunno if this affects skill speed).
I was thinking of rapier + club combo for damage then maybe rapier + shield if I want to kill high level mobs so I can block and evade. What do you think?
well, DPS knights are great. Rapier in off-hand (for the +10% p-atk bonus) and Club in main hand (stronger than rapier) is the best combo. Dont think about shield. If you are DPS knight, do you char as a DPS knight
is there any math behind everyone picking the maverick trait, I've always like the commando trait more because skills (yellow damage) >>> melee (white damage)
agi is a useless stat and 5% aspd is only a tiny increase in white damage

Commando feels lackluster but it's better
imo the Luck-oriented HTs are the best ones, crit builds are very viable on both Thieves and Hunters alike

does maverick suck on eva knights?
i want to get as much eva and block rate as i can. which is easier to get? if eva is easier to get then maybe i'll go commando and if block is easier i'll go maverick.
How can you guys manage to watch series and grind at the same time? Even with dual monitors I find it extremely hard to do both at the same time. Either my leveling becomes very inefficient or I end up just having the series running in the background.
I was watching the GSL when playing xD, there's this handy little tool called "Always on top maker" made by fadsoft, and it's freeware. I only have one monitor so I put GSL in the corner and was grinding away and watching Clide pwn face

I mostly just listen to the show and quickly glance at it when I hear heated moments. Ya, I guess it would make leveling slightly more inefficient, but not to the point of being stupid slow. Also, I plan on watching Star Trek, so most of the show's content and stuff comes from what they say.

That is the way I "watch" almost all my shows I had one show (Forgot the name) were I hardly knew which character had which voice. Since I only listened to it
Agi isnt a useless trait, Maverick and Leadership are the only 2 skills that offer something for every single class. Agi increases Cast Speed, Atk Speed, Evasion, and Parry... and I absolutely love avoidance on my knight because tanking usually involves 6+ monsters and bosses all seem to have multi-hit special attacks. Caster gear is also itemized for some agi, so the 10% agi bonus isn't a waste on casters.
Obviously the stats that boost your raw dmg are most appealing to many people but also offer the least flexibility in a game defined by class-swapping on the fly.
I'm about to start. Is starting as a cleric viable, or should I just switch to Cleric/whatever healing class later? Also, are HT game changing toward the end, or would a general HT like Leadership still make me a viable healer?
On June 29 2011 15:10 rwrzr wrote: Someone who doesn't mind give me a quick rundown review of this game.
Maybe highlight similarities to other MMOs and some Strengths and Weaknesses (Weaknesses preferred)
coming from someone who's never played an MMO before (me):
pros: -really great art style and direction (obviously just my opinion) -really fluid animations -on-the-fly class changing is nice, allows you to self-sustain on long quests instead of specializing as a warrior/tank/healer and forcing you to party up -easy mindless quests for when you want to browse TL while you play, but also hard(er) quests when you want a challenge -tons and tons of gear and upgrades for gear whores -pretty decent class selection and it's only expanding -upgraded often -if you're willing to dump some IRL cash into the game, the item mall looks promising i guess
cons: -clicking on enemies during battle is a bit hard sometimes and i've died more than once because the fking enemies were moving around too much for me to click on them to kill them (real noob) -you get teased with all these features in the early levels then they take them away at later levels and make you pay for them with cash if you want to use them (like basic features such as costume alterations) -dungeons are really weird difficulty spikes. you'll be going along soloing 10 straight quests that are like level 10 quests then you'll hit a level 10 dungeon and you'll party up with 2 other people level 10 and still won't even dent the boss. -the chat system/UI is atrocious -still pretty much a beta game, obviously they're improving it but there are some notable flaws once you start playing -levels 1-30 are really fast, then after 30 it's apparently a grindfest
even though i listed more cons than pros, i'm having a BLAST killing some time with this game. it's super cute, not too difficult, and a lot of fun if you play in spurts rather than marathon it. i'm about to start a new character so i can hoard dyes to be able to change my costume colors cause there's no way i'm paying cash for something like that. but for a game that i can grab a sixer of beer and play casually with some friends across the country for free, it's pretty great

Is there a lot of room in the guild? I'm a 35 Bard, the TL guild sounds awfully tempting. How many people are usually online at once?
During the day probably around 10-20 people online, in the afternoons (EST) it seems to be about the same.
There's not a lot of room in the guild currently but once we hit guild level three we'll open up a lot more room. Right now I think we're like 71/75 (would have to look, that's just a guess) but definitely could have hit 75/75 while I was asleep.
Getting a guild town is a LOT of work. You have to farm 7k fame just from Lvl 2 to 3 then you have to farm 10,000 gold. We have like 800 and maybe 1000 fame lol. It takes a long time, need everyone to constantly knock out guild quests!

In the early early game (up to lv20) every class is playable and levels at about the same speed. The only class which sticks out in terms of farming speed is Hunter. Imo sticking to one class is not the best thing in the game because when you lvl up a class you get CE Points (Class Expertise) which increase ur overall ATK, HP&MP.
Never the less my Girlfriend only plays her Cleric (because she wants to become Shami) and she owns everything with me. So if you have a friend to play with you its viable you only play cleric + AoE-Beasts. Also Clerics are always needed in party dungeons, as in every mmo :D. But when you want to solo in the later stages (25+) i adivce you to switch to bard. It is one of the best solo-farm classes and shares the general skills with cleric. And in the current late game (lv40+) imo bard is the BEST solo-farm class.(click me)
To the above post: Only G-Healing and M-CRIT affects your heal and ofc the targets P-Healing.
Cleric is actually VERY strong at soloing lower levels. I'm not sure about the higher levels and I stopped leveling my mobbing skill but heal stacks + aoe lets you tank mobs of like 10 while attacking everything around you

In the later stages you won't do enough damage to mobs to keep up your stacks. Not saying its not possible but alot harder. Bards have a less harder time because they get a DoT-AoE and MoveSpd buff which lets you kite mobs. Every class in EE is capable of soloing thats what i like about the game, but in terms of efficency Bard>Cleric
The Start(Leveling Speed: fast!!): This MMO attracts so many casual gamers because the start is very easy. Everything you need for the first 20 Levels is well explained and you get guided trough everything with you main-quest. The Class-System first seems a bit awkard to players who know MMOs because you are afraid to skill everything. When you will notice that the only real limiting factor in terms of "fail-builds" are the Knowledge Points you will begin to enjoy the Classsystem. You will get plenty of equip and pots from quests and the early Party-Dungeons are not that hard. Everything feels great and you are interested in seeing more and more.
The Midgame(Leveling Speed: fast.): You are Level 20+ and developed a feeling for the general game and classes. You begin to think of possible branches you want to spread out to and start to level up other classes out of interest. The Party-Dungeons get more challeging and without a proper party setup you will maybe get wiped here and there. Quest are still enough to support you with money, pots and equips as well as expierence. In my opinion in this phase i had he most fun. Also you get introduced to the "lategame". How to craft items and what fun things are there left when you get bored.
The Lategame(Leveling Speed: okay): Level 35+ ... Dungeons get harder and harder, you will need a proper party to get trough some dungeons. Quest get rarer and don't supply you anymore with enough exp. When you switch alot of classes your money gets short and you will need to do repeatable for money, fame and exp. Everything know turns more into the normal Asianstyle-MMO. You will have the most success on the general Fields to mob since you will have to kill alot of monsters for quests. I guess a lot of player will get frustrated here and maybe stop playing. Players who are used to grinding (i played 10 years RO so im VERY used to it :D) now really dig the game. You want to build your character the perfect way to have the biggest output. I play a knight to mob and have a heal-slave running with me, i need around 2 skillcombos to kill mobs Dungeons as said above get harder, you will need to have a good tank who knows when to do what as well as your DPS and Healer and imo the most important thing: you need to know your enemy(Which is easy, just click on the little ? when u target an enemy ).
About Classes: For the party dungeons a normal setup should always be Tank+DPS+Healer. For 5-party dungeons there is space for a buffer(bard) and another DPS.
Tanks: Warrior, Knight DPS: Thief, Hunter, Engineer, Magician, (Illusonist) Healer: Cleric, (Bard) Buffer: Bard DeBuffer: Martial Arts Yet i don't know enough about Shami but he will be either Healer/Buffer or Healer/Debuffer Now some words to which of what is better. Warrior or Knight? I guess this is somewhat a matter of taste. Warrior rely more on blocking and def and have an easy time achieving the maximal 50% dmg reduce. Knight rely more on Evade and Def. A Knight has a harder time to get to 50% reduce but when he hits it he is a tanking beast due to evading a shitload of attacks.
Which DPS best? A general trend is to choose ranged DPS so you dont get hit by AoE's from the boss-mobs. Magician and Hunter i would say are kinda equal in DPS. I'm not too sure about Engi as a pure DPS build (just played the more tankish-mobber build in CBT).
TLDR: Start, nice. MidGame, very nice. LateGame, harder/more grinding but still alot fun. Best Classes*derp*(most common: )? Hunter, Mage, War/Knight, Cleric, Bard
EVERYTHING and i mean EVERYTHING is debatable, it is still a very young mmo so other builds and trends will establish.
i think i'm really bad at this game but i'm more than willing to help TL level up the guild someone who is capable, send me an invite - s/n: guitarasaurus BUT the only caveat is that i have two friends who play as well. you have to invite them too, we're a group package >:C i don't remember their screen names however, so maybe i'll just invite them later
Since Bard comes from Cleric, I'm not too worried. They both share the same general skills so it won't be totally different...and I could still heal
edit: I can't connect D: I'm getting this issue, but their solution doesn't work. Someone please help
edit2: okay i guess watching a star trek episode and trying again works???

Background: There's a lvl 45 5 man dungeon called Veninfang in Golden Plains. It can be solo'd with a Bard since theres a bunch of trash and then a clearing in the same way that Bards have been AOEing since they got Burning Metal. I've been doing this for awhile and can be done as low as a lvl 30 bard. This is a guide that will tell you how to do it.
In addition after reaching max bard you can SELL runs to other people for money.
Buy the crappy lvl 30 gear from the merchant if you wish otherwise use whatever you like. You should have 35% move speed with the Bard Poem of Wind and all the equip
The 2 rings and cloak are all fame rewards. I can only remember that 1 ring is from Valley of the Kings off the top of my head. The wind meteor is the item you get for assembling the 4 fragments from the lvl 25- zones. The lvl 20 guitar can just be made in Aven. Certificates: They don't actually matter at all really. I personally use Warrior -pdmg, +def, +eva, Thief +eva, Bard +eva, -mp cost.
Talents/KP: Don't matter but I HIGHLY recommend the +10% Burning Metal talent and 5 points into Conductor which increases 5% MGC whatever the hell that is. (Don't know if it actually makes a diff in this case)
Skills: Burning Metal (max this first) Music of Life (get this high enough until it's decent, max optionally if you wish) Song of Illusion (optional max, should be decent though)
Preparation: The trash mobs you will be killing has a few notable things to mention. They can stun so in the initial gathering phase you might get killed. Also the mages do have a range cast that they cast if you get close. Use pots as necessary since youll be making more than enough back in terms of pots during the run.
Gathering phase: You'll want to pick up all the trash up to the Giants in this dungeon. Start by casting Poem of Wind and the meteor. Then cast 2x Music of Life, Song of Illusion, Music of Life and then gugugugu as Cella would say. Pot to stay topped off when Music of Life runs out.
When you get to the clearing run 2 laps to really get them bunched together going through the train where there's the least monsters so you take as little damage as possible.
Killing phase: During the laps you want to avoid the Giants as they will likely 1-2 shot you and take forever to kill. If you happen to pull one just run out at the end or continue running circles until your dog picks everything up. It's not a big deal if you aggro them.
Anyway how you want to do this is either animation cancel/slidecast if you know how to do it. I don't do it because its not necessary and it's not that big of a deal. Anyway when running with a good lead, turn the camera 90 degrees of the way youre running if you wish. Press 1 to prime the cast. Let go of RIGHTMOUSE (if you were holding it) AND any WASD keys you were holding, LEFT click then immediately resume the key for the direction you were going (probably W). You should briefly pause cast and immediately run again. If you hold down right mouse or a direction key you're liable to start facing them after your cast and immediately run toward them and die. Repeat until all dead. Reset and do it again.
Details: Turn your graphic settings DOWN. The game has this issue where if you hit too many things with Burning Metal there's an input lag since I assume there's something horribly wrong with the input handler programming in the game. Specifically turn down Models to Low, Textures to Low, Glow FX to Low. Money: You'll make the most money off the weapons (1g+) and necklaces (7g+) that drop. If you need to sell open up the map and use the traveling merchant as it is closer than the ones in town. After you hit 50 bard you can sell runs to people or trade runs with a buddy (e.g. 5 runs as you being Bard then 5 runs as him) and you can level up your misc. classes this way.
FAQ: Q. What do if I get stunned? A. Spam your pot button but you're probably going to die anyway. lololololo This should only happen in the gather phase anyway.
Q. SHIT, I'm facing the wrong way after a cast. (not actually a question) A. Let go of all the buttons youre holding onto. Hit right mouse and W immediately. You should start going forward in the right direction hopefully after not too long of a delay.
Q. I'm facing the wrong way a lot after my cast a lot. A. Read how I press the keys. Specifically, prime it by press 1, (at this point youre still using WASD and right mouse if you want). When you press left mouse to cast, make sure you're not pressing anything else. Right after the mouse click resume whatever you were doing.
Or an even easier explanation. 1. Do whatever you're doing 2. When you press left click to cast Burning Metal. Make sure you're not pressing anything else 3. Go back to whatever you were doing.
Q. I'm dying a lot/seems like this is a big investment/other complaint is it really worth it? A. YES. If you're dying a lot initially thats fine. Everyone dies their first few times no matter what until you get the hang of it. It's just like facing a particular all in for the first time since every decision you make is CRUCIAL but after you get used to it is easy mode.
MATH:
If you manage to grab all 38 trash mobs at 932 class exp each that results in 35416 class exp. (not doing character exp because I'm 50 already so I can't see it) You can do a run in 2-5 minutes (depends on how often you die and how good your burning metal is). At worst case that means 400k ish class an hour. You can basically get all your classes to 40 within a few runs (yes I'm aware its split with 2 but its still like 75% of 932 a monster) AND I'm not even counting jewels or charms for extra %

would you think a hunter could do this as well with a high level piercing wound? assuming i get bard buffs before heading in, the only thing i'd be missing is 5% ms from a bard exclusive piece of gear

Trust me when I say that all games produced by Aeria Games are utter shit. Also, this isn't a new MMORPG. Back when I was a kid and used to search for these kinds of games all the time, this was one that I played (although it was under a different title, it looked pretty damn near the same... all character classes were the same as were the graphics). Do yourself a favor and don't bother.

Somehow I thought the exact same thing but later on the boss fights aren't actually tank and spank and some of them have abilities etc which really surprised me.
I hope based on these facts that endgame is challenging and fun. *crosses fingers*
alright alright, I'm convinced, and slightly bored/need something to do while trying to kill time. Do people still play this? I'm probably gonna play a bard seeing how freakishly amazing buffs were in Rose Online.

You're thinking of a different game i'm afraid! As others have stated, probably ROSE?
I'm going to try this game. would you guys go apostle or crack shot if you wanted to go magician? it seems like straight dmg or +crit. dunno which is better. but i will be making a guy shortly.

If you're in a guild you should buy them from the guild town since you can do there from anywhere except dungeons and theres more selection (doesn't matter EXCEPT for lvl 45 and 46 since 46 gq is actually easier and closer to each other)
On July 03 2011 08:22 SCC-Faust wrote: Yay I joined up. Btw how to get guild fame?
Do guild quests which you can buy from Aven. Don't worry about getting any if you are a low level, you will be farming guild quests when you reach a higher level.

Send me a tell in game, IGN: Kalith. ( Type /t Kalith )
But be aware we only have I think 2 spots right now so we might be full unless you're quick.
Since it's sorta buried in the thread. The hardest part of the game in terms of leveling is from 40-45. 45 you can power through using my guide on page 17.
In addition I can craft anything involving: Magic Carvers or below, Mystery Stars or below, First Light Dew or below or Perpetual Stoves or below. Basically I have Fame with Silver Needle, Arcanum, Nature Seekers and Crystal Camel. If you don't know what this means its basically factions in Aven that you have to turn in a bunch of shit to so that you can buy the crafting materials that the blueprints ask for. The caveat is that you can't trade the fame specific materials BUT you can give someone who can buy them the blueprint, the non-fame materials and the gold for the fame materials + craft chance to do it and they can trade the finished boe product back.
PM me at opiuman or LulzyLoli (try this one first) if youre interested.
Just a heads up for any new players, the guild is currently full but we will start to kick inactive players so don't worry - there'll be a spot for you soon!
On July 04 2011 00:19 Senx wrote: So is this just another grind festival mmo like Aion is? Does the pvp start at early levels and is there anything unique about it?
The grind is actually really easy if you've ever played other free mmos before. 1-35 takes no time at all, you don't ever run out of quests to keep levelling. After that some levels require you to grind guild quests or other repeatable quests to level up to try and unlock more quests. I've been playing for less than a week and am level 40 now, max level is 50.
The only pvp in game at the moment is duels, 1v1. And that's not really anywhere near competetive pvp, the game is more focused on PvE (There are LOADS of dungeons, 3 and 5 man) and guild progression (There are quite a lot of world bosses that are on spawn timers which drop nice items, known as Guild Bosses.). You can purchase a guild town and even your own vendors to put in it!
Pvp is coming, however! The community is growing so quickly, and many people are coming from unexpected backgrounds into the game - for example a lot of high skill LoL players have joined recently. (Hotshot etc.) Along with us TL members also joining the game, a lot of people see the potential and WANT more competetive parts to the game, including pvp.
There are many unique features actually, the job system is awesome. You can change class anytime you want, anywhere - at the click of a button. And the only thing stopping you from switching again is a debuff that lasts for 30 seconds or so, so wait until that's gone and you can change again. Levelling up different classes than your "chosen" one helps you to build a more rounded character, as you unlock certificates that can be equipped in any class to boost all different types of stats and when you combine certain classes certificates together you get a bonus depending on which you choose.
The customization of the characters in the game is actually quite large and if pvp did come out, not only would it be quite hard to foresee any major imbalances (Due to the number of combinations) but it would also create quite a dynamic and interesting pvp game as most characters will have their own builds and items.
If you have played and enjoyed other free MMO's I suggest you give this a shot, it's fun despite the graphics etc.. I dislike this style a LOT and usually stay very far away from games like this but it works in eden - just don't take your character so seriously, and the gameplay makes it worth it anyway.
This turned out way longer than I expected. But at least it's here for anyone to read now - i'm off to play.. Enough talking!
I have been a huge fan of Ragnarok for many years, and dabbled in multiple MMOs; this seems like a similar game that is casual and fun. I have yet to finish dling the game but if anyone wants to start a new char with me and just mess around send me a pm ^^ I'll edit for ign when its all setup!
i played the game today a bit and got a 20knight/thief, the graphics are funny and cute. But the controls are horrible. there are walls of glas everywhere and the targeting system is weird because, if u target a mob which is behind you, ur char will turn around. if u click an attack skill then, ur char will run to the target and use the skill. it is quite hard to move during combats. the only positvie of the movement system is, the auto run feature. u click on any place on ur map and the char will make its own waypoints and takes the fastest way, so u can only really have to play during the combat. maybe i will play a bit more in a couple of days and look what the dungeons got.

I dont know man. I doubt that just because of that PvP is really going to take off. This game is essentially like 10 patches behind the taiwan version of the game and PVP was just added to the Taiwan one last week. Also its randomly group PVP (I honest doubt there's hidden rating in this game). They also have the Samurai class, quest to change your heroic trait and etc. It's going to be at least a few months imo before we get that. :[

Think you misunderstood, I don't expect it to "take off" or anything. I just want it in the game! (Don't think ANYONE plays this game serious, but for fun - and pvp would be so much fun!!) Games like this are always waaaaay behind the eastern versions but that's expected, I think the fact we can see they are doing such large changes is only a good thing - right?
Or would you prefer just to see bunker build time + 5 seconds is all we have to look forward to? ^^

Wouldn't worry about it, the guild's a joke on this server. :S
Was out hunting bots one night, found one in our guild. Stood next to him for 10 minutes occasionaly whispering/asking in guild for a reply - nothing. So I reported to GS etc. Guild leader thinks it's ok to keep botters in guild so yeah.. Not missing out on much really, just a bunch of slackers with like 3 people who actually play. Oh and some bots! (Which most of the guild don't even seem to mind.)
At least i'm free to join a decent guild now! See ya when pvp comes out guys haha.
Well we have some more spots! Some people decided to act like complete assholes for no reason, which was inevitable considering this is the internet! Anyway room for people who want to have fun and not spew crude garbage or drama in guild chat =)

PM me IGN Talia or any other member
What happened? I haven't been able to get on in a few days.
You insult someone personally out of no where for no reason, then when you get shit back you throw a little paddy wack and kick people. Congratulations.
Done in this thread after doing nothing but helping people, have fun with your fellow botters + children in your "cool" little guild.
I'm assuming Shiro is the person I just kicked. He started accusing someone in guild of being a bot and wouldnt shut up about it. It an entirely pointless and aggravating exchange, I asked him politely to keep it out of guild chat which he took as offense. Even if this person is a bot you already claimed to have reported them to a GM, just let them get banned. I didn't see the reason for bringing up trash and accusations in guild chat.
I really have 0 tolerance for drama. As for "kid" I'm a college professor of mathematics, if you were a student I would have removed you from my classroom. You're disruptive and disrespectful, and even the accused chinafarmerbot is polite when talking to others. I really don't care if this TL guild ends up with 10 people, as long as they are polite and don't start pointless arguments. You're welcome to form up your own with all the angry yelling screaming and rude people who enjoy fighting.
Finally it is not my place to decide if someone is a bot or not, and I am not "defending cheaters" when I don't support an accusation for which I have only your personal account and no other manner of evidence. GMs may investigate the matter and if this person is banned for cheating, good riddance, but that is not within my ability to judge or authority to decide.

I'm sorry but after refreshing the page to see this, something must be said. No one was rude - your botting friend started that. You started the personal insults. I gave them back, nothing - read, nothing. Was started by me.
You seem to have a problem with short term memory, or at least the truth.

Edit - wrong quote
If by "helping people" you mean starting a personal insult against me as a human being over something I said of which you believe wasn't true...
Anyone can invite, guys. Doesn't have to be the guild leader. Just post your name here if you're looking for an invite, someone will throw you one (we're at 95/100 right now so 5 spots, and we periodically kick inactive lowbies so more spots will open).
i got my character to 50, 2 weeks ago, but then there is nothing to do besides grind class exp. No pvp and 1 boring dungeon. Just a heads up the game goes till 65 or 70 in the korean version, so all the content is slated for then.
Hahha hey I'm so sorry, I'm at the NASL finals this weekend and I havent been around to clean out some spots. Im kicking based on level just because I cannot see the time-since-online. If I kick you ask anyone for a spot back and I'll try to open some up. The more 50s we have, the more shizz we can do together at high level. Anyway, sleeep soon see ya guys!
I couldn't log into my account for whateveer reason. I'm sure I know the password, but it didn't work so I tried to recover it. This appeared.
With that said, you guys can remove WholeGrn the level something Bard from the guild. I wish I could play, but I have no interest in recreating an account. I'll email them, but I still want to be removed for some more active members and in case they don't respond.
Problem solved. Still kick me anyway because I uninstalled the game. I might get back to it if I run out of stuff to do.
I just want them to increase the level cap and bring hte new classes already Also for those that are max level, solodng as bard in the first room of the 48 dng is sick gold. 300-400 gold/h is not abnormal :D
How long does the maintenance usually last? I just started playing, I plan to level a healer, so if there's any spot left in the TL, please send me an invite
I just made a account and downloaded and I can't login? BTW what is the best PvP class Also which server does the majority of TL people play on. I am also US..

What kinda shitty business does that.
Wait, how did it delete all your games?
It simply deleted the entire folder that the game was in, all the way up to the d-drive. This folder happens to be conveniently named "program file."
Lost all my games, random programs, some install-included programs, and my audio codec. Unfortunately I have no way to tell what I lost either, so it was a jigsaw puzzle figuring that out the next 2 days.
