Didn't Chi Rithy play Chun before? Either way he's really good but generally Air is the best AE player there, JSMaster has been super quiet ever since WCW3 where he got flipped off lol

Also, FakeSteve is one of the top players too, from what I hear

Yeah Chi-Rithy was a Chun player, I didn't know he had any alt characters.

Finally got off my ass and went to a Thursday Night Throwdown event to get some experience against some top Norcal players. I met my personal goal of only losing to the experienced regulars, and lost to Kineda's Akuma and Chris Z's Viper. Both pretty rough matches for Sakura in my opinion. I did beat a Sagat and a Juri who were both pretty good though. Got a decent amount of casuals in too. Kimo's Hakan ended up taking 4th but he choked big against John Choi and Harris' Ryus where in both games all he had to do was punish a whiffed Shoryu and he would have made it in the money. Not sure if I'll make it out to the next one, I guess it will depend on the outcome of whether they end up pulling SF4 or Marvel in favor of SFxT.

What makes Juri any good? I checked her moveset recently and she has a pretty badass air combo. But that's really it. I feel like her moveset is really limited and connecting her moves feels so awkward (compared to Ibuki where everything feels perfect and transitional).

I was looking to pick up a third character and it came down to Chun-Li, Makoto, Honda and Juri. I was going to do Oni but he felt too similar to Evil Ryu.

juri is a pretty awesome char imo. i just find her a bit confusing to use personally. also God help you if youre using a pad. those fireball charges are hell on Type A layout XD

chun and honda are easier to pick up and use. chun has one if the best, if not the best set of normals in the game, but has trouble dealing damage.

I just played her a bit more today. I feel so reliant on her two major moves because nothing really kicks up. I checked out some of her combos and they look ridiculously hard to pull off or even use in proper matches.

I might play Honda. I'm really looking to have a trifecta of characters that alternate between "forms of play". With Ibuki, I'm pretty aggressive. With Evil-Ryu, I'm tactical.

Now I'm looking for someone a bit more defensive. Not sure if that makes any sense. Sakura looks good too!

I don't respect Juri a whole lot, but I'd definitely say she's the scariest thing to face in the corner out of the entire cast, at least for me.

Sakura is good too. You just need to get down her tatsu combos if you want to maximize her damage output.

j. RH -> cls.MK -> L. Tatsu -> cls. HP -> L. Tatsu -> cr. HP -> HP SRK = ~411 meterless damage. :D

She's definitely scary in the corner, but I've been playing so much melty blood lately that Juri's corner pressure feels like nothing now.

chun is difficult to play. situational anti airs, not very good damage output, low health, very poor reversal.
She has really good normals and pokes and hasn't got many bad matchups.
She's free to vortex chars though, which are the popular tournament chars.

if you want defense, go with sagat or guile. Oh and I think oni plays completely different than evil ryu. Oni has way more mixups with his instant air dash and air super/ultra being comboable in 2012. Oni is definitey more of a rushdown char than evil ryu
Edit: ohn and its quite sad that the last post in this thread was made on the release date of SFxT... No love for AE anymore?

there are probably arcade rats in van/to that are just as good with her, or better

why are people sleeping on cammy in this game? every time i turn around someone is complaining that she is ass, and i don't get it at all. she lost her meterless instant tkcs, but gained a slew of new link combos and frame traps, which seems like a pretty good fucking trade to me. i also have much more respect for her footsie normals, her s.mk and s.rh are really good zoning tools. so what's the deal? also, anyone agree with the assertation of most top players, that seth is the strongest character atm? i sure as fuck do not :D Viper Akuma Cammy Ryu Rufus is my personal top5, rest of the top 10 would be a collection such as Seth, Fei, Sakura, Balrog, Adon... maybe you could throw Ken, Honda, Vega (people sleep on this character still!
