Hopefully evo deciding on a 2v2 format puts eighter sf4 or marvel as the main game for their event aswell. I have no doubt SF4 will be getting a lot of tournament exposure in the future. Just consider that 3S is still being played widely.

1) Is it even worth buying if I don't own a console? 2) What is online competition like on PC? 3) If I buy the DVD, can I still activate it on steam? 4) Are there any glaring issues on the PC that make the console experience infinitely better?

I haven't tried activating the disc on steam, I just dled it direct from steam, I assume you can though.

It's definitely worth buying As for competition, 360 has more top level players, but as mentioned above, it doesn't really matter unless you are really good.

Yes Should be decent, some prefer the PC netcode. Worst case you can play with lovedrop No you won't be able to. Steam version is slightly different. You can still play with steam people though. Patches are months behind on the PC but unlikely a problem anymore for sf 4. Technically its still a bug fix patch behind but they're not huge bugs.
