my first match was against a thawk and i zoned him the fuck out. i slaughtered him every time he left the ground. against this guy i was just not very confident that i could win so i tried to do something strange to open him up and it worked lol
focus as anti-air, yeah idk why i do that. it's really, really bad. OSing shou into my blockstrings is on the training agenda for the next couple weeks as well. gotta make it second nature
Do you know how to reliably do her Tatsu Shenanigans?
By that I mean S.Hp -> lk tatsu -> c.hp -> ex tatsu? Or whatever else variation you use.
If you can do that, I would really really recommend training hard on the (c.mk, c.mp etc etc) xx H Shou -> FADC -> S.Hp.
It's a bitch of a link to land. It's 1 frame, after a very quick FADC, but holy hell once you learn it you turn any C.mk into 40% of a health bar, it's so nice.
Then again you may already know this. I find that whole FADC from H Shou to be one of the most important parts of Sakura's whiff punishes when you get advanced.

such a hard link but yeah. i guess if there was an "optimal" sakura, she'd be using the shit out of that

i usually do c.jab sweep OS for the hard knockdown. only time i do for shoryu OS is vs twins since their backdash seems to be never caught by sweep

Are there VODs of these games from Devastation?
EDIT: Nvm i think i found them.

That...should be pretty good for you.
Yea she does a heal of a lot of damage...if you have someone that can execute her combos well that is. Most people I find cannot

My friend's gonna let me use his steam account for ssf4ae. Who's a fun/high tier (doesn't have to be both) character? I played some sf3 and mained yang/makoto/ken. Apparently there's a ton of sakuras/juris online? I always thought online was flooded with flowchart kens...
|
Jayme- I wish I had knew someone on PSN that used her so I could learn the match up a bit more.
Kid-Fox- Those 3 characters you play with in 3's are relatively high on the tier list and there are still a ton of shoto players online. I saw a 6000 bp Ken who was ranked in the 1000's I believe. Just shows you how many are out there.

sakura's new flavor. some of us are legit though.
play ken, he's an interesting character. very footsie based. has a godly kara throw, and a ton of tools for a really robust frame trap game

I saw this game on a sale a couple of days ago (8 euro lol) and picked it up.
Then I picked up a random char and went playing. Well, I lied. I picked Yuri, because she's Korean keke. I feel like I've gained basic control over the game now, and I'm looking to expand my portfolio. What character would you recommend for a newbie?
Well, there goes my 2000 post At least I'm a mutalisk now.

i think yang is actually pretty fun in ae, at least in AMERRRRICA because he's not as figured out compared to our overseas rivals.
but he's gettng beat with the nerf stick in 2012 so i'm not sure you'd want to pick him up.

Well now that you have a grasp of inputs, you can really play any character that you truly like and just take it from there.

@kainzero: Well, I don't feel like I should be picking up Yang just now if he's getting nerfed. If I want to play him, I'd better wait till after the nerf. I won't learn "useless" stuff that way, if that makes sense to you.
@Zlasher: I don't know what I like, except for Cammy's ass. Looking at the character cast... Gouken/Fei Long? I really don't know what the characters are capable of tho, I don't want to end up with something that plays like ass

Well what play style do you enjoy the most? Aggressive, defensive? Rushdown, zoning, mixups, footsies? Charge or basic inputs?
|
Aggressive/rushdown/charge I suppose?
Also, what's the deal with the several guys that have like 1000000 PP at the top of the ladder?

Those people hacked their score.

Do you guys play on 360/PS3 or PC? I bought the game for the PC but it seems like there is fewer players for matchmaking on the PC?
Also if i buy a 360 arcade stick will it work on the PC just like the 360 controller works on the PC?

Personally I play on 360, although i wish i had it for PC just for ease of access, and slightly better performance but no doubt there are more people playing on consoles. Pretty much any stick you buy should work for the PC, I have a TE Round 2 Stick for the 360 which works flawlessly on my PC.
