Justin should switch to yang. I'm unsure what the matchup between Rufus and Viper is but Yang beats viper pretty hard.

Japanese Yangs can compete with Viper but an American Yang? No way...plus why would he put any more time into a character getting nerfed THAT hard. Smart to stick with Rufus all the way

He's never really quit Rufus though, just before AE came otu on DLC he played Adon a lot, he's mixed in Cammy for a couple weeks, but he's always had Rufus in the back. Since Evo he's really stuck to Rufus unless he's just trying to prove James Chen wrong about something.

Do you think the twins are getting over-nerfed? Will they be useless? Because I was planning to pick up one of them.

They'll both be fine, they'll be there with Rufus on the B part of the tier list.

Nah they'll still be good characters, they still have divekicks and command grabs, albeit a bit slower for both. All theri damages are a bit slower too, and very little frame data was changed.

They'll just have to work harder to win now, since htey are still low life (900 hp) characters.

Yun will be better than Yang. Fei long will still be good too, a lot of his links are going to be 1 framers now instead of 2 frame links. This is just my opinion though. I think Seth is going to be the best character if people play it like Online Tony/Poongko and just Option select EVERYTHING for days. That shit is seriously broken.

If you like any character you can still play them, I think Yun will still be upper mid tier at best, mid tier at worst.

When i said he should switch to yang i meant specifically when he was playing against latif when latif won two straight games about to reset brackets. It was 2-2, so worst case scenario was that he would reset bracket which happened anyway. But good shit to Justin sticking with Rufus and winning.

Also on the seth will be op because of option selects, i heard fuudo (during evo) and daigo (at the rematch) vs poongko used a 4 button option select + delayed backdash to beat seth's option select. I think someone mentioned this at guard crush stream?

Yeah theres also a 4 button option select for Seth though apparently, and a lot of option select uppercuts that are totally safe and if they work its just unstoppable since everything about Seth now is the uppercut play.

He's fucking broken.

Justin played amazing at Devastation. I never seen his Rufus looked better. He completely read everything Latif threw at him and looked unbeatable.

Seth's Shoryuken FADC OS is broken as it is. Although in 2012, it's nerfed to leave him at -3f instead of -1. It's now punishable by 3f normals or reversals. To keep the FADC safe after the shoryuken, Seth has to FADC the first block, meaning no OS.

As a Seth player since Super, I think it's a big blow to his game, but a necessary one. Either way, Seth is still looking to be pretty damn strong.

Also I don't want to start a whole flame war on this, but even though Seth definitely has the tools necessary to compete and win tournaments during this age of imbalance, I don't understand the idea of having him along the ranks of "broken" with Fei/Yun/Yang. The only 2 Seth's that have been making a name for the character are Poongko and OnlineTony, and OnlineTony hasn't even performed that well in any AE major. This is almost nothing among the sea of twins and fei long players who have been doing well recently.

^^^ what i take away from that is it seems my frame trap/tick throw game is way too predictable. you'll notice i never successfully baited EX SBK, even though i certainly tried. needs improvement.

u tried to focus some jumpins as antiair instead of chp. but yeah. all of his sbks hit, you didn't antiair him once. im going to practice clk clp (OS lp (mp?) shouken) as it's relevant vs chun and makoto)
too easy

i didn't anti-air him intentionally, i have strong anti-air but against this guy i need to make him feel comfortable coming in and doing stuff so i can punish him, and i don't really feel a lot of threat after i block a jumpin from chun. i used to main the bitch, so i know what's she's capable of

my first match was against a thawk and i zoned him the fuck out. i slaughtered him every time he left the ground. against this guy i was just not very confident that i could win so i tried to do something strange to open him up and it worked lol

focus as anti-air, yeah idk why i do that. it's really, really bad. OSing shou into my blockstrings is on the training agenda for the next couple weeks as well. gotta make it second nature
