Thats called a crossup and its dealt with by blocking the other direction.
Almost everyone can crossup, people like viper have rather ambiguous ones though.

It should also be noted that although to deal with crossups all you have to do is block in the opposite direction, it's sometimes not possible to actually "react" to the crossup, i.e. sometimes you can't really tell from reflex which way the jump attack is going to hit (whether the attack is actually a crossup or not), so sometimes you simply have to guess and hope you blocked the right way.
And the same goes for a lot of other things in AE... As well as other fighting games I guess

So I have been debating between making Sakura as my main or Ibuki.
I really like them both. Hitting Sakura's links is still only like a 60% deal for me though and execution is absolutely paramount to success because well...she doesn't get a million chances to do damage. I probably like playing Sakura more when I think about it.
That being said I enjoy playing Ibuki and I spent hours upon hours upon hours working on her. I guess the issue is I haven't really see an AMAZING Ibuki player.
Sakura has Uryo...and everytime I watch him play I want to practice Sakura more. I don't get that for Ibuki because no one plays her at that insane level...at least that I know of.
Of course Uryo is a freak but meh. Also, Sakura has a better theme and that's obviously very important.

Sakura, on the scene !!!

He must not play at arcades much either because he's nowhere near the top japan rankings for Ibuki either. A few months ago someone posted the top 10 rankings and Iyo was at like 100k BP, and the next 9 ibukis are between like 34-38k.

he doesn't live near any of the popular arcades. he and his wife live quite far away from the big tournaments and it's why he doesn't attend many of them.
also, i'm streaming some random sf4 shit for the next 2 hours. i haven't played in a month but should be fun. taking character requests.

Here you go. Watch Iyo. Truly an amazing player and an amazing ibuki. Sadly ShinAkuma doesnt upload to youtube anymore but here is his playlist with all of his Iyo uploads http://www.youtube.com/user/0ShinAkuma0#grid/user/9ECD3553DF755E94
E: I might add that Iyo, like daigo, doesn't upload replays that often so usually when you see videos of him it's the people that beat him uploading. But there is still a lot to learn from this guy. Especially Ibuki's vortex. Here's some other sweet videos that Shin Akuma uploaded a while ago in case anyone hasn't seen them

i just bought this game because it looked so awesome and so far im really having fun. my only problem is i only have an xbox controller and i have a tough time doing ultras with double half circle. should i use the analog stick for those or are they possible with d pad also? i can only pulll of the move about 10 percent of the time and combo into ultra seems completely undoable especially when i try to switch my finger on to the analog stick. pleeeaaaase some tips
