Ive been using an older patch i think and i read up about a larger patch (.217) that introduced alot of balancechanges and changes to policies and whatnot, was totally not aware of it until now :E I wouldn't worry the fun part about these is we can play another round at a different difficulty/mapsize/whatever. However I do find that the easiest way to learn is often to get thrown into the fire and learn how to deal with specific scenarios. (I've just started playing emperor and I know the feeling) Steam should auto-update the game unless you disabled the auto-updating(and if you know where to disable that, you know where to re-enable it). Baby: I'll try opening it myself first tonight just to check if the save file is the problem by chance, but if someone can do the same earlier might speed things along ![]()

Are you up to date with your patches? Yeah, everything is up to date. I uninstalled and reinstalled DirectX and the Visual C++ x86, cleared out my other saves (they're just games I finished, was going to delete anyways), and turned off the Intro Movie, none of which worked. It's weird because all the reports on this problem seem to of been common in patch 1.0.0.62 and before 2011. I haven't seen any posts from 2011.

We could dial it down a level or two for the next game after this one to make it more accessible. The main thing about the hard difficulties is that once you get towards the industrial age, things start to level out quite a bit since the AI is bad at resource management, and its initial starting bonuses and bonus hammers make less of a difference. Deity also needs a solid build order, and one needs to stick to that build order, like in Starcraft. Also, like in Starcraft, little mistakes in the early game can cost us the entire one. Settling that city so far away from us, and letting the AI get a city up that close to us was probably what got us in this situation. Not to mention the But anyway, we are not doing too terribly. We should stick it out, this game is still winnable if we fast tech to rifles and go on a killing spree?

I think I know why, but it'll take too much effort to fix. I can just watch you guys and read your write ups (which have been awesome so far). I might have it fixed for the next game though. In my 40 moves, my goal was to just try and isolate Rome from Cumae after we research for Trebuchets and attempt to take it. I also was thinking of push the research towards Navigation to explore for an Island that might be a little more friendly for us to develop on given that it seems like all of the militaristic civilizations spawned on our continent.

I was extremely confused for a bit, but: Go to My Documents -> My Games -> Sid Meier's Civilization V -> Saves You then move the save file there and then you open up Civ V and load the save file.

Then just take the save file out of the save folder and upload it to http://www.mediafire.com/ and post the link to it here.

They easily took York and i stopped because we have no chance. If you want to try go ahead but i suggest we start over at an easier difficulty Just go as long as you can, report what you can, and maybe finish with pictures of the score sheet and or enemy Army ![]() We obviously can start a new one after that seeing the interest (but rough start ![]()

If you can attain peace, just turtle up with a siege unit in the capital and see if a cultural victory is workable. We're relatively close to the next culture building tech, and you can do a culture victory with just one city. Get the piety policy that gives you bonus culture from happiness, and don't trade off any luxury resources, and we might be able to crank it out. Walls --> Castle on the capital will help as well.

If you do try in the next few turns 1.Rome will be conquered and offer peace 2. Greece will want you to form a friendship(could help us fight Iroquois) 3.Japan will start to expand like crazy around you so be weary of their incoming cities 4.Iroquois will declare war and you are in for the battle of your life
