Sucks I was already in another Alliance whenever I saw this. Wish there was a way for alliances to ally each other. I've had a couple rank 1000-2000 liquid guys pummel me today, and I'm rank 3100...
|
sigh.. the game servers seem to have died literally as I pressed the send fleet button for tonight's FS/RS...
if it didn't go and I lose everything I will be rather pissed!

How should I play?should i get a bunch of colonys or should i get a fleet and raid a lot?
|
Gotta love mistyping coordinates without noticing which causes your whole cruiserfleet to suicide in some turtle -_-;;. BRB rebuilding xD.
I just build some small cargos to raid inactives/defenceless people at the start while teching towards a colony and improving your mining. Only after that was established I started worrying about a fleet that can shoot back. It might give you a night or 2 that you are open for attacks but just fleetsave or turn back production rate so you look like an unatractive target if they probe you.
|
Get your colonies asap until you are one or two below the colony limit. Raid defenseless / inactive people with cargos and some fighters to get some extra ressources while building colony ships and infrastructure.

Since a lot of people have been asking where to colonize, here's a short guide,
+ Show Spoiler +
Pure miner: You want to keep your planets somewhat grouped together in a further galaxy. This will limit the people near you, especially at the start. Keeping them together makes it easier to transport resources to start mines and research. Pros: Very safe, little threat, consistent growth. Cons: Income will come entirely from mines and expeditions, little action.
Miner/Raider: This is building mostly mines, with a small fleet to hit weaker players. You also want to raid inactives and other people with low defences, along with a few expos. You would want your planets in lower galaxies to raid, but away from bigger players. Pros: Good infrastructure to produce fleet, allows you to pump fleet as needed, but not a heavy reliance on fleeting for income. Cons: Not enough to take out big fleets, income is half-assed.
Fleeter/raider: This is heavily focused on ships, with only limited mines. Almost your entire income will come from attacking other players. You want your planets spread around the lower galaxies. Pros: Profit is huge if you can crash big fleets, income can be much higher than mining. Cons: Huge risk, if your fleet is crashed you'll have almost nothing left. Also, your income will be very limited if you don't get good hits. *I'd recommend against going too heavy into fleet until you have a bit more experience (or are already an experienced player.
Late game fleeter: You start off with mines earlier on with this, until you can tech up and build a fleet. You spread your planets over many galaxies so you can raid even higher galaxies later on. Right away though your higher galaxy planets won't have anyone to raid. Pros: Will allow you to reach players that other people can't. Good income from mines to supplement ship production. Cons: Starts off slow, higher planets can only mine for the start.
No matter what you do though, make sure you scout around before colonizing. You want to avoid very high ranked players. You also generally want to take planets 7-9 for the highest chance of getting large numbers of fields (planets are capped on the number of buildings they can have). http://ogame.wikia.com/wiki/Colonizing_in_Redesign_Universes

Not really, since the Battlecruiser was introduced, specifically as an anti-battleship ship, and performs well against other ships. However, they cost quite a bit of crystal compared to pumping out a BS fleet. So you do need to have a fairly balanced group of ships when flying larger fleets.

I logged on about 15 seconds before my planet was attacked. I lost my entire fleet, 7 cruisers, 30 heavy fighters and 30 light fighters, plus a bunch of cargo ships. But I got a moon! And a huge debris field.
I also found a new arch nemesis. What's the best way to get revenge on someone?
|
(ab)use the fact that you now have a moon and ninja his fleetsave with an ACS thanks to the sensor phalanx you can now build. Moons are so nice to have.
Btw i am seeing a lot of grey b's and vacation mode suddenly pop up. They banned people for multiaccounting already?

I would be thrilled. Pretty small fleet you lost to get a moon
People seem to be a lot more agressive than when i used to play a few years back. They seriously attack for measly 5k minerals every time.

Hopefully someone can get the external area furnish in order to attract more peeps. also, an independent forum is helpful for the non-sc'er in the alliance.
Another thing is that please go to IRC frequently and talk...always see those few people talking only.

With the colonizing just remember that if you fleet/raid/crash that you will need 3 colonizer as roving bases, idk if you can mitigate this with a ACS, but its worth to remember.
