I've played this game since early 2002, and I'm still going at it!
I'm playing in SSCU Trench Wars mostly, but recently I've been playing some other zones as well. This game is amazing considering how old it is, and that it is free. The community is quite good and now people are focusing more on helping new players getting into TWD, which is the competitive division of Trench Wars. There are several different divisions, either based on duelling (deathmatch style with teams with limited deaths) or basing which is basically capture the flag.
If anyone is interested I'll personally help you get adjusted to the game and a proper squad.
It takes about 1 minute to figure out most of the controls and then it's takes a lifetime to master them. Ask Alps as he has never gotten close to master anything in 8 years he has been playing!

But hey, we were still in pro league. I still log on every now and then when I get nostalgic and surprisingly I see some people I used to play with every so often. Pro League is still going "strong" somehow. By strong, I mean it still exists. EG/TW are the equivalent of money/fastest maps in BW. The pure game is so much better! I'm one of the idiots who actually paid for it in the late 90's when they tried to sell it. Apparently not a good idea after about 3 years of free play. It failed hard commercially.
That's totally not true >_> Trenchwar is just WC1 status, 1 bullet and that's all. In EG you still have the 1 shot kill of bombs which require the same skill as Trench, and you also get to use bullets while strafing, which adds another aspect.
It's just more complexity in EG.
I think you are talking about DragonballZ server or something where firing bullet does not cost energy

Just in case people understand this part: The game itself is based on several individual zones that uses different settings. People from different zones are always going to say whatever they're not playing isn't as good as the rest, but thats like saying apples are better than oranges.Trench Wars is the biggest and the most popular zone in the game, and its still the zone with the largest playerbase.
Oh and it sounds like you guys don't really know how deep the competition goes in Trench Wars. You guys have no idea how many people from other zones come in to "own" people, and only a handful has walked away with any titles. I know people who are really good at SVS that has failed hard at adjusting to TW despite making alot of effort.

Woo old school Subspace'ers. I only played Trench Wars and moded zone my squadmate made. Played under Red Wizard, Javelin (tw), Durak and obviously a bunch of other names. Doubt anyone knows me though. Maybe some people know Rocket Soldier though, he was my first member in Spell Casters (under Red Wizard name in like 98).
I'd be up for playing again on weekend if TL people want to play.

Wow crazy. I played this game for years on the username The Unholy God/Halt/Slip/Kingdom. I know of kiegan and burzum.
I was such a troll on that game after a couple years.. lol.
Started as a noob in TW, moved to SSZ for awhile, tried out Desert Storm and Halo, became the best at each and then quit, played some Hyperspace for awhile, Mystic Kingdom.. etc. Always came back to tw though, I loved playing jav in that shit.
We should so make a TL squad. I've got a couple leet squads/names still I think.

hehe i also wasted tons of my time with this played @ t3 the gauntlet when it was still populated.

Powerball Draft League playoffs start next Sunday at 8 PM EST I think ... http://www.powerballzone.com ... so if anyone wants to watch how powerball works on the highest competitive level just let me know and I'll help you out to get things set up.
I've played almost all the zones so I can also give comments on them: Trenchwars, 17th Parallel, A Small Warzone, Chaos, Alpha, Extreme-Games, Premier League, Hockey Zone, Death Star Battle, and a few others. I've also played in leagues in almost all of them (although only Powerball in the past few years).

The replayability, like SC, is what really makes this game great. A lot of players have been playing for 8+ years now.

Continuum would be so much more fun if it had it's old popultaion back. I remember when TW was at like 600-700 daily. andnow it's around 300-400

I remember playing this since we had to use that 'Class' crack to start the game... I stopped playing ~2 years ago. I was mostly on Extreme-Games named mango, I lost the password for some nice names too =[
@prae: I also played T3G a long long long long time ago under azn boi (worst nic ever)..

I play this game occasionally, usually after my hands were already tired and bleeding from playing on Iccup.

mmmm moero sounds familiar too, maybe I should install cont again...

Ah, Continuum. I've been playing this on and off since... 2002? 2003? Haven't played it this year, though. Suppose I'll log on to EG now. Or TW. It's hard to tell the difference if you fly Warbird.
